And most of the £3.5m fee going to him to pay off his Sunderland contract.

I pay my money, I watch the football, I go home. I couldn't care less who runs the club as it doesn't affect me. Last two years, especially last year, I watched some unadulterated crap, but this year it is brilliantly enjoyable. Never mind the results, for me the football is the thing. A rollercoaster, possibly, all those that go obviously enjoy it. A month ago, a few of us were saying how good the football was, now many more are seeing it. The longer it goes on the more people will go and enjoy it. Jan Portvliet and Mark Wotte are probably the first management brought in by Lowe, that he is comfortable with and actually in the long term wanted at the club, rather than to fill a vacancy, or try and solve a problem.
-
And If Saints are with it, what happened to Cranie and Mills, is a good example of what they don't want to do.
-
As he did it on Aug 9th, just over three weks to full training.
-
Bloody unorthodox, what rubbish, it's the football mainly played by English teams below the top 4 in the Premier that is unorthodox. The rest of the world with the probable exception of Italy play this way. For example the best is Brazil.

Sure, but John doesn't look first choice to me anymore.
-
Yes, you are right, I think it's closed for a week, then opened for loans.
-
John didn't start at Derby, he played less than 10 mins, it was Jamie White being saved to start on Saturday.
-
He was left out last night for a rest, but as soon as he heard, he insisted he wanted to play and was put back in.

I don't think there is much of a boycott, with just a few making the sacrifice. Money is difficult for some at this present time, together with the worry of maintaining employment. The far greater number, are probably those who gave up last season, with the no hope dross we had to watch. Hopefully the next two televised games will give them food for thought and rekindle their appetite.

a) we will have played 26 league games. b) the young players who have been playing great football, in an exciting team, would be out of their minds, to go somewhere else to play in the reserves, or go on loan, when some of them have been waiting ages to get first team football. c) I have no intention of anticipating what will/will not happen over 4 months from now. d) The young loan players if they are successful and enjoying their football, will IMO want to continue, rather than go back to the reserves, or go somewhere else on loan.,

Welcome back Frank. I was with Ron last night, he mentioned he hadn't heard from you of late. We were absolutely delighted with the football. At the end Birmingham couldn't get the ball and the crowd were olaying as we pinged the ball around. That without 6 of the regular team at that time. Birmingham just looked shellshocked. It looks like we have learned very quickly to pace the game and not try and do too much too quickly. This team knows how to bully and put the foot in, they are like a swarm of wasps when they lose the ball and most of the time seem to get it back quickly.

Come now! the pessimists handed out some real sarcastic tripe, hardly one of them had seen the team and some of them were a thousand miles from SMS but still gave these opinions. The people who had been to the games were in the main very optimistic, but that didn't stop them. Since Saturday they have gone AWOL, they probably won't be back on this subject until we lose again. I hope that's a long time. I still think it's going to be a rollercoaster, but after seeing 5 matches I'm enjoying the ride.

Weston has the right idea, the way the club are going about their business, indicates to me, that they don't see a takeover happening.

Borrowed money! we'd be bloody mad. Give JP the money if there is any. Blackpool on TV, given a good performance it could lead to people coming back.
-
I think JP has earned the right to see this through. Shearer as a player was good, as a manager he is a tv pundit FFS. JP is coming over as a professional with a common sense grasp of the game. This is the best football we have seen for years. If there is money available give it to JP not Shearer.
-
I didn't want him back. He hasn't put a foot wrong. The football the team is playing, irrespective of the results, is great to watch. JP is impressive with his ambition and comments.
-
Common ground at last. Looking forward to watching this team play, I can live with the rollercoaster, wouldn't it be something if they were to get on a roll? You never can tell with kids.
-
Forget Shearer, JP wouldn't need £50million. Anyway does anyone seriously think it would happen. I think this young team is great to watch. I am happy to go with them . I'm beginning to see why Lowe went for him. It's a shame we didn't bring him in last time out.
-
The pessimists have been on this forum throughout the three games previously and until midnight after the games. How strange, not one of them posting today. Who will the first one to come on and try and put a negative spin on it. I am really looking forward to the two games this week. I wonder if Wotton or Cork will be CH vBirmingham.
-
This young team is learning fast, last min v Cardiff, Two scrappy goals v Birmingham, now we go away and play Derby off the park. Give them the credit, their football has been outstanding, now they do it for 93 mins.
-
Preston I think.

Lowe is selling players, trying to shift out high earners, bringing in young loans, and behaving as though there is no takeover. If there is going to be a takeover, it doesn't look as though it will be in the near future, and if there is one, you can bet your bottom dollar it won't come out until it has happened and Lowe will announce it out of the blue, and probably stay on with Cowen and Jones.
-
If it was going to happen, why are we signing loan players to play in the present team? If Lowe/Wilde were on the point of selling up, nothing would be happening, especially the sale of Davies. I'm still sceptical.:smt117 :smt117 :smt117 :smt117 still counting
