If they get some first team games. If we are safe I can see that scenario. However I can't see Davis or any of the highly paid, out of contract players getting a renewal, except on Lowe's terms.

They probably look under the bed before going to sleep.

Pretty much as I see it. Purely as a matter of interest, Forecast seems to have had an outstanding game for the reserves this week.

I think that a lot of these negative posts, are to generate reaction, as the instigators need the interaction ,to fill their time.

Cork is excellent tackleing but hardly won a header against Birmingham. Burgess had an excellent game and was hard to play against. It was being left one on one and no one in front of Svennson, going for the ball, which would have allowed Svennson to drop off that caused the problem. However it was White who gave away the penalty and Blackpool didn't score from play. I suspect the centrebacks will be Perry and Thomas/Wootton/Lancashire at QPR. I think there will be changes from Blackpool. It wouldn't surprise me to see the team be something like: ---------------------------Davis ------James/Cork----T/W/L-------Perry-----Surman ------------Lallana---Schneiderlin--Gillett----Holmes ---------------------------McGoldrick ----------------------------Pekart

Sprake, Reaney, Cooper, Bremner, Charlton, Hunter, Lorimer, Clark, Jones, Giles, Gray, Madeley, just to name the key players.

You are absolutely right in your second paragraph. I couldn't abide Rupert Lowe, but he has hardly put a foot wrong since returning. He is backing his and I suspect Clive Woodward's judgement. I like what I see, surely that is the only reason we go to the matches for.

We fundamentally agree, Ron. I have a problem with the proposition to play experienced players, who in the main have been failures. I have no problem in experienced players who have the pace, game and intelligence to enhance the young team. What we can't do is confuse experience with improvement. It is the quality of the experience that is fundamental. I would go so far as to say that unless the experience is quality, it will reduce the effectveness of the young team. This way, we are going in the long term direction, this year and next year may see gradual improvement in position, but if we can contain the financial attrition and keep most of the players we are bringing through, I can see this working. You can bet your bottom dollar that the management and board see it this way too. Better this, than the CCC dross of previous seasons. I didn't enjoy the result against Blackpool and some of the play was disapointing after previous performances, but still enjoyable at times. I can't say there were any games that we lost last year, I could say that about.

Paine, LeTissier, Channon, Ron Davies, Lundekwam, Sydenham, Benali, all long service loyal players. All but Claus and Ron were youth players.

Then he wakes up, looking at the £50m reality. Then thinks what the hell do I need that for. I thought I'd go and buy a new E class Mercedes yesterday, picked out a car, then thought what the hell do I need to change cars for. So I don't think I'll bother.

The contract was signed well before. Up to last Saturday neither player knew anything about an offer, but Surmans agent had told him of Reading's interest. The club hadn't informed either player. I believe Fulham only came in on Monday. -
White has to learn to play wide first, I was surprised they waited for half time to replace him. Thompson, BWP, Dyer, would be better but only if they play wide and come only to the six yd box to cover the far post when the play is down the left. James in front of Cork would give a much more solid right side. James is stronger than the others. better in the air, to attack on the back post and he does get back and tackle, Still that is just my opinion, I see little little sign of it happening. The other way would be Cork in front of James, but I prefer the first option.

Ron, if they can't put the substantial funds up front, we can safely assume that they don't have the money to ensure the criteria demanded by Lowe/Wilde. IMO it has to be borrowed money, in that case, that level of finance couldn't possibly be covered by the company's assets. Neither would the increased debt and interest payments be covered by income. Whilst there is little doubt the consortium want to take over the company, I maintain that the company are asking a high price, not only for the company but demanding that substantial funds are up front to fund the future developments and the GUARANTEED future. Despite rumours, unless these people are idiots, it won't happen. In fact unless all the funds are in place, enough to cover plans and any long term interest payments, it would be madness,

Jan, how long has he got? (not looking for an arguement)

Why the hell would the man be under threat. He has produced a good young side that can get better. If he can get a few results in the next couple of months, attendances should rise. -

The question didn't need answering. As long as he carries out Lowe's instructions, retains his confidence, continues to have a team playing well, even with roller coaster results, and avoids relegation he will not be under threat. If Wotte and the coaches provide and introduce successfully more academy first team players, to replace any sold, then JP and MW will retain Lowe's confidence. -

It seems some people prefer to watch highly paid, high transfer fee, names, underperforming and playing dross, instead of a young team playing attractive, if result wise, rather rollercoaster football. -
James is a lot quicker than Surman and probably quicker than Holmes, he has demonstrated the ability to get forward and his crosses have provided several goals. If it is ok for Surman to play wide left with his lack of pace, then James would have no problem.
-
Only if he stops coming inside and plays along the touchline. JP criticised Dyer and White for coming inside and making it difficult to stretch the defence.
-
He looked quite good at LM for Hertha, however they were not prepared to pay our price, even though they were keen to sign him. Maybe another loan when he is fit. That is if the loan window applies to Europe.
-
Cork at right back and move James into right midfield. James is quite quick, has put in some decent crosses for goals, and with Cork behind would make a very solid right side.

As of last Saturday neither wanted to leave.
