What he needed was help from in front, allowing him to drop inside, and the rest of the back four close up diagonally on the cover behind him., with the rest of the team dropping back to fill the middle. I lost count of the number of times he was defending against runners with no other Saints player within 20 to 30 yds.

I think the team management, do not want the team spirit damaged by unhappy players. I understand Surman plays at left back because he realises there aren't many options for that position. Prefers midfield but doing it for the club. He is doing his best and unproductive moaning won't change things. I think it would be better to forget about Skacel altogether, until the club indicate they are going to include him.

It's not a conclusion, it's just an impression/suspicion, call it what you like. In 12 years there has been no major investment. 10 of those years he ran the club.
-
Because he wasn't where he was supposed to be.
-
Lowe doesn't give the impression that he wants to sell or hand over his position/influence to a bigger investor.

I'm not saying he would be my first choice, McGoldrick didn't even do his wide attacking job properly, wandering inside almost never wide. As for his defensive support picking up and giving cover to James he didn't. Perry didn't give him much support and the so called holding midfielders didn't either. He was often left exposed. It is supposed to be attack as a team and defend the same way.

It was the 30 yd intercepted or innaccurate ball that killed us last night. In the last 10 mins they needed to go patient and build up slowly, instead we were going long, losing possession, then having to win the ball back again.
-
Anyone care to elaborate on the cover he got from in front and inside. I didn't notice any but maybe all the experienced fullbacks and coaches on here could enlighten me. Sad to see a young lad trying to break through, doing his best, but being criticised by so many never was so called fans.

Yet still voice their unchallengeable expert opinions.

We couldn't stop that, with the shareholders trousering a lot of money. It was who they chose that caused the problem.

I walked to Debenhams, then drove over the flyover, short holdup, home by 1015. They should have closed it at 1030.

At least we are involved in something, no boring mid table no hope for us.

In this case he is right, wishful but nonetheless right.

You have a PM.

Don't see the point of this, Walcott is playing for England, in the Premier and Champions league, we are hoping for a finish about a third up the CCC. Of course our players don't compare.

I think maybe 10 men for over an hour on Sunday, Nick.

Lawrie was a coach at Sheff Wed, before taking to management.

Really need a forum for the supporters that go to the matches. Too many knowalls on here, who wouldn't know the players if they bumped into them, but can still give lectures on the team they've never seen.
-
It seems when the wide players are actually wide, it gives him the options to pass and he plays better. Against Blackpool and last night the wide man was wandering inside and he didn't look good.
-
What does "End of" signify? If that means no other opinion has value, what are you posting it on here for.
-
Looked like he could play wide successfully in this team, unlike McGoldrick and White who lacked the discipline to play wide. They just wandered inside leaving the midfield short of options.
-
In the last 10 mins Davis rushed every time he had the ball. Because I didn't want him to either rush or kick the ball upfield, I was looking for his options and he always had people to pass to. It was the 30+ yd passes that killed us, I lost count of the number that went to the opposition.
-
He is not that quick if he dribbles and can be caught. There were times last night before the full back got cover, if he had just knocked it 10 yds past the defender and run him, he would have drawn the defenders across and opened Ipswich up.

Looks like you got the answer you expected Ron.
