What I expect to happen, is the manager quickly sorting out any player not playing to the team plan. The players need to know that this will happen, otherwise we are in for more indisciplined hammerings.

It was always going to be a performance and result rollercoaster. Some of the players need a wake up call, they need to play with discipline. Defenders who are exposed already by indisciplined forwards not tracking back or tackling like ballet dancers, really don't need to race forward to get into the opponents penalty area, thereby leaving even bigger gaps and massive exposure to counter attack.

A lot of the problem is the space available to the opposition around our defence. Players without discipline/sloppy marking. The opposition playing in behind us. The pace of players running and playing one/twos through a turning defence, especially one with their hands in the air appealing, looks quicker than it actually is.

Missed the real point with James. He was trying to fill the whole of the right side, front and back on his own, as McGoldrick refuses to play where he is put, doesn't track back, and is totally selfish in the way he plays. It needs the other players to pass the ball out to the empty right side and then tell him to get out there. He will then become the scapegoat. James needs to just sit back and pass down the line rather than trying to do too much. He will then be less exposed and make McGoldrick look stupid.
