Great post Phil. Tell it how it is. I hope we aren't relegated, the football was good, but we need the players not on the ball, to bust a gut to get up and back and hunt in packs, just cut out the strolling and take responsibility rather than hope someone else is dealing with it. We need to be a lot more in your face defending in numbers, we defend loosely, and cover loosely. We need to be really tight both defending and covering.

The Wolves player dived in and was across Euell which made it look worse than it was. As for the injury, what injury? he got up and played strongly for the rest of the match. Lancashire WAS injured by a bad tackle and had to go off.

Most of the negative posters don't go to the games. I really dont give a flying F*ck about the opinion of non attending radio/tv knowalls.

You really are a prat. Passing comments when you have no idea of the circumstances. Then ridiculing people who were there. Why don't you find a team to support that you can watch. There was no third goal. The linesman had his flag up for some time and everybody except the idiot with the ball had stopped playing, but he put it into the net anyway. Davis looked as though he was getting another ball from the ball boy to take the free kick when it was put into the net.

It was us bossing the second half that shut up the Wolves crowd. They were very subdued.

I saw pretty much the same, I'm in block 5, right behind the linesman/offside position, the linesman missed so much, very late on obvious decisions. In the first half especially Gobern, Euell and Lallana were offside and didn't even notice. It should never happen when you are able to look across the line of defenders. The trouble was ball watching which happened for especially the first goal. McGoldrick probably had his most effective game to date, why he didn't get that penalty late on, I don't know.. Gobern wasn't up to pace and for me shouldn't have been playing. BWP made a difference both in general play and penetration, a great shot cannoned back off the inside of the post. Schneiderlin made the midfield tick especially in the second half and about half a dozen 40 yd passes to feet. Surman was a bit poor to start with, giving the ball away four out of five times, but after the second goal got his act together and gave everything. There are two vital things that stand out for me, the players away from the ball have to make more effort and bust a gut to get goalside when defending and get into the box in attack. Too many are trotting/strolling/standing when they should be aware of the opportunity or danger and sprint into position. Secondly using the aforementioned hunt in packs both attacking and trying to get the ball back. Wolves especially in attack did this well. Lallana worked hard with usual clever touches but doesn't get in where it matters when play coming from the left. Euell was energetic but surprisingly especially after Gobern was replaced by BWP for most of the second half, we pulled Wolves all over the place. They were hanging on for long periods chasing the ball. When they were trying to play in the corners towards the end that summed up for me how well our 10 men had played.

I'm not proposing this, I want to see the team win, I also will go to the games as I have season tickets. The boardroom issue has nothing to do with my watching football. The boycott as I've set out won't really work unless the bank withdrew it's support, at the same time forcing the sale of any asset at whatever price is offered. However targeting Wilde might persuade him to bale out, if there is a willing buyer. That would turn the tables yet again, but changing the board would make little difference to the financial situation. We need an end to the devisiveness. If that means the departure of Lowe, Wilde and Crouch and harmony is restored despite a lack of money that would do me.

------------------Davis --Cork Lancashire Pearce Skacel --Lallana Schneiderlin Surman BWP ----------------Euell -------------McGoldrick I'm beginning to think that despite the ball skill, there is no end product from Lallana. Gobern is very lightweight. Definitely Pekart and Robertson on the bench. We have to get forward in numbers much quicker and much more importantly get numbers back goalside when a move breaks down. It appears to me that only the players immediately on the ball move at pace the rest just trot. All the players have to start busting a gut, and sprint up in support and sprint to get back goalside. This is the reason we are not getting enough attackers into the box and getting enough players back to stop the defence getting outnumbered and to enable us to give close cover rather than loose cover.

If enough people who currently go to matches at SMS would boycott then at a rate of approx £25000 per 1000 that would be a significant amount. As there are only approximately 4000 supporters other than season ticket holders who have already paid up front, the maximum damage at current levels is less than £100,000 per game. If there was that sort of damage then it would IMO cause under the present regime, a fire sale of assets at whatever we get for them and result in definite relegation. It is hardly likely that the present incumbents would be forced to resign. However the one significant weakness is Michael Wilde. The way to reverse the existing share influence would be to target the football chairman, provided there are people prepared to buy his shares to let him out. With an AGM now due, this is definitely the window of opportunity to move.

March madness concession/senior ticket £290 equal to less than £13 per game - centre wings/block 5.

To break even with a normal price 14500 crowd as an example, (9500STs 1000 away 4000 saints fans), we need to generate approx £100k. If for example we call it 50% adult and 50% concession that means we need 20500 to generate the same revenue. It means an additional 6000 needed through the gate just to break even. It will be interesting to see what will happen.

You are spot on. (However just for information, the spelling is renege, a renegade is a description of a outlaw/bandit/rebel etc.)
-
As well as.
-
The boycott would have to be the random supporter, as the STs are counted whether there or not.
-
The only way to get at Rupert Lowe, would be to orchestrate a fans campaign with demonstrations against Michael Wilde, for supporting Lowe and underwriting his position.
-
I have 2 season tickets and have bought 2 additional tickets, one for a friend and another to take someone. I really don't care about the, reduction. I would like the stadium to be full every week.
-
Rupert Lowe and his devisive controlling ego are what is eating the heart out of this club and dividing the fans and shareholders. Until he has sold his 6% and severed his ties with the club, whatever our league status, the club is unable to move on and recover.
-
I was talking to a well known ex Saint a couple of weeks ago. His view- the Chairman should choose the manager and let him manage without interference. Mr Lowe wants to control everything.
-
Would it benefit to declare your 'Allegiance'

Whether you support or oppose Rupert Lowe there is one indisputable fact, his presence in the club is devisive. This applies amongst supporters and shareholders. We cannot move forward until Rupert Lowe severs all connections with the club. -
Depends on the truth of the matter. It all adds up.
-
9500 STs approx. I'd be very surprised if many ST holders weren't there. There was certainly above 14000 in the ground. ST holders really can't be bothered to watch the tv and not go to a game already paid for.

Terry Paine had terrific peripheral vision. That is why he had so few injuries. Some of the Saints players tried to kick him up in the air, during training and couldn't get near him, as he was able to see them coming. Present day full backs who can't tackle, would present little threat to him. His ability to put the ball on a spot would always work. Look on the thread which is showing the Ron Davies four goals v Man Utd. Three goals from superb Sydenham crosses. Mind you he did overhit his fair share of crosses. Compared with top class athletes, footballers then and now are pretty poor physical specimens.
-
So you weren't there. The changes were farcical, the only thing we looked like doing was conceding more goals. We didn't have one decent shot on target the whole game. Their goalkeeper would have frozen, if he hadn't had Surman's free kicks to catch.
-
FFS they were minutes from administration, the shareholders donated their shares and cancelled about £20m debt. Sisu were given the club on the basis they would invest.
-
What ****es me off about Rupert Lowe, is that he only owns 6% of the club but acts like he owns the bloody lot. Of course he isn't going to invest.
