Saints Greatest XI - B-Team Right Side Striker Poll
derry replied to St Landrew's topic in Golden Posts
1st best striker with 2nd best striker in the A team. As a pair. Best L/ BestR 3rd best striker with 4th best striker in the B team. As a pair. B team L/R Each poll is separate. -
Not at all, it's a poll. St Landrew has already chucked his hand in over it. At the end of the day if Ron Davies is in the B team and not the A team the **** will hit the fan. I wouldn't mind betting this poll will be scrapped.

Simply done, as was done with the centre backs, one poll, vote for your two best strikers in the nominated 4 4 2 formation. -
Saints Greatest XI - B-Team Right Side Striker Poll
derry replied to St Landrew's topic in Golden Posts
Once a player is selected in a position in the B team he is excluded from ALL other positions in BOTH teams. If he wins here that's it. He is finished/excluded. -
That's where your wrong, if he wins this one he is excluded from the A team. He will be the second team striker. The best striker becomes third choice if voted in here,

Saints Greatest XI - B-Team Right Side Striker Poll

Correct, if he wins the poll on here now. If you want him as the A team left striker next week you don't vote for him here. I voted Keegan here, and provided Davies doesn't win this one, I will vote for him in the A team next week. -
NO, it's one or the other. If he is picked here for the second team he cannot be selected in the A team.
-
This is NOT the bloody first team, RTFQ, It's the bloody SECOND team FFS. The ones voting on here for Ron Davies are either those who think he is great but are too stupid to understand the rules, or DON'T WANT HIM IN THE VOTE FOR THE A TEAM NEXT WEEK. Voting him into this SECOND team DISQUALIFIES him from being picked for the A team.

The Beautiful Game is now firmly in the land of the fairies

It's not a cap, the clubs have to exist within their income. Certainly not to in France, would lead to relegation, either Bordeaux or Marseilles fell foul of the rule a few years ago. -

Like I say, already in the rules in France/Germany, Platini and many countries see the finances in the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester Utd, and now Manchester City as an unfair competition. £600m to £800m in debt and technically insolvent but able to finance teams that are better than the opposition in Europe. There is a groundswell to make the English clubs live within their income. This will just speed it up. Platini will surface shortly. Arsene Wenger is already kicking off as he sees his top four place threatened. It would be made a condition of entering the Champions league and Eufa cup. -

This may get FIFA/EUFA to act and allow clubs to only spend earned income as in Germany/France. Platini is on the case, this will be seen as the straw that broke the camels back. -
Saints Greatest XI - B-Team Right Side Striker Poll

Ron was the best and is probably a shoe in for the A team next week. If you vote him into the B team this week he cannot be nominated for the A team next week, It's not, "is he good enough to be second best", Its "he is too good to be in this team". -
My comment is not really about the dimensions, the width of the pitch is variable between maximum and minimum dimensions. However once a pitch is marked out, that's the way it stays. If a team changed the dimensions it would have to be verified legal. We need to play to the touchlines not 15 to 20 yds inside.
-
It makes the team, narrow and lopsided, no crosses from the right byeline to the left back post and worse nobody on the right back post when crosses coming in from the left. Lallana always gets sucked in to the near post. I know it's a different level, Utd are brilliant at playing both touchlines, then always hold back two players attacking the back post as the defence is sucked in, then outnumbered. If the wide man comes in, somsbody else takes the touchline, we don't do this and it is fundamental.
-
That midfield won't work with Lallana selected wide right, he just won't play there. He doesn't like playing there and comes inside all the time. He definitely could play well there if he disciplined himself to play wide. If you want him in, he would have to be in either of the two centre positions or as a support striker.

Saints Greatest XI - B-Team Right Side Striker Poll

However when picking two cenre backs we voted for the two best on the same poll, that would have been preferable for the two strikers. It would have saved all this. -
A lot of people were going for Channon and Davies as the strikers and voted for Channon as the first part of the double. I did. Boyer was a good little player, but if Paine is wide right and the three have played together, somebody is needed to head in Paine's crosses. Ron Davies at his peak with us was arguably the best striker in the world and virtually unplayable in the air. That could never be said of Boyer. But I respect everybody's right to vote anyway they want. If people are voting for Ron to get him out of the A team, that is wrong. This pole should have been done after the A team selection of both strikers.

This thread/vote should be rerun after the second A team striker is chosen. -
You don't want him in the A team. Is that it?
-
No I don't. The debt is repayable over an agreed period, as long as that is serviced, the debt is annually small and will be paid off in time. The overdraft is, I believe, being reduced. I wouldn't be surprised to see us solvent next year. The major debt in a lot of the clubs is buying players and maintaining the huge wage bill. MU and Liverpool were bought using the club assets on borrowed money.
-
Unless people stop voting for him in the current B team poll and vote for Keegan, Ron Davies is going to be barred from the A team. If he is voted in this week to the B team, he can't be nominated for the A team next week. How stupid can people be. I want Ron Davies as our greatest striker so I voted for Keegan as second best this week.

Load of rubbish, it includes the mortgage in full in the short term debt.

FFS IT'S THE BLOODY B TEAM YOU ARE VOTING RON DAVIES INTO. WAKE UP. IT'S NEXT WEEK , THEN VOTE FOR HIM IN THE A TEAM EVERY VOTE FOR RON THIS WEEK IS VOTING HIM OUT OF THE A TEAM So you want him as second best. Vote next week for him in the A team not here for the B team. He is the best striker we ever had, and if he is voted in to the B team this week as you seem to want, he can't be in the A team being voted for next week. You just don't get it do you, unless you want Keegan in the A team not Davies. -

Which will bar him from the poll to be the best left sided striker in the A team, which in my view he will walk. All you will succeed in doing, is to make sure he doesn't get in the A team. -

If Ron is voted in here as the second best right sided striker, he won't be where he should be, as the best LSS in the A team he would be barred. Get it now? I can guarantee he has enough support to be in that poll provided he doesn't win this one. Keegan needs more votes to make this happen.
