I think that several things has got the NJ's and the boards attention not least the crowds reaction and an abysmal performance and defeat.

I'm wondering if last night's result concentrated the minds at the club. It moved from haggling to get it done. Orsic I hope is the first of 4 or 5 signings. At least it is a decent start.

Sky Orsic having a medical

Adams needs to just get on the last defender and get into the goal area. Forget about playing like an attacking midfielder. There to get goals so get as close to the goal as onside allows.

Personally I'm not sure anybody at the club realise or are prepared to admit as Ralph did that playing three centrebacks isn't possible with our centrebacks. Go to four at the back immediately. Full backs to play as defenders or it isn't four at the back. Stop selecting Elyonoussie, Lyanco, they are a problem. Try and get Ings back whatever the cost plus two more proven, quick, clever goalscorers. A dominant leader that is fluent in English. Either a centreback or Midfield, even a fullback. Money spent on the right players now may well pay off. Bring back Tella, Bednarek and Smallbone. Loan out Lyanco and Elyonoussie and anyone else surplus if we can. Lay it on the line to Nathan Jones, what is happening isn't acceptable and he's part of the problem and it's down to him whether he is given time to be part of the solution.

Last night the writing was on the wall as soon as the Manager's team selection was announced. Three centre backs again, including Lyanco. Elyonoussie and Mara selected. I'm not going to criticise Mara but this was an unfair Hail Mary selection of a young player without the background to cope. Elyonoussie on the other hand is a lightweight who shirks the hard things, tackles, busting a gut, getting in where it matters, determination and lacks sharpness and pace. Lyanco is hopeless apart from plenty of spirit he has no judgement, poor positional sense, poor in the air, slow on the uptake and gives the ball away costing us goals. Finally Che Adams, Chance after chance but misses virtually everything. He bustles about with plenty of effort. His positional awareness is poor. We haven't anyone else to play there. For me he is a bonehead, there is no cleverness evident. We need to rectify those obvious weaknesses immediately as there are twenty games left. However if the manager can't see that his selections and obsessive three centreback tactics are the problem. Either he changes or he has to go before the Everton game. Sitting on our hands won't cut it. When one looks at the substitutes it's more of the same. Somebody said bring back Bednarek. He is far better than Lyanco and that isn't difficult. Bring back Tella and Smallbone, they aren't the answer but A Armstrong, Aribo, Djenepo, Walcott, etc, really?. Solutions, break the bank and try and get Ings back, likely, sadly no. At least two proven goalscorers to play with Adams. A dominant leader preferably a centreback/defensive midfielder. One that takes no prisoners, no matter the age. We only need a couple of seasons. We can still get out of this. I don't want to hear how Jones was brought up in the tough Welsh Valleys. I want to hear sensible tactics that work with team selections that exclude the problem players. That or just go. Finally why no Stuart Armstrong? Elyonoussie no comparison.

This manager has no idea what works and who are his best players/team. He left Elyonoussie on until the end and he provided 95 minutes of nothingness. Lyanco another that shouldn't even be at the club starting regularly, following his clusterfuck penalty last week he proceeded to dither and pass to the opposition and lost us the match. Bonehead Adams, better than Tella who said that. Another sitter missed. Jones throws a hail Mary in probably his most vital game of the season by giving Mara his first start which didn't work. Brings the useless A. Armstrong on to provide nothing, And to cap it all we helped run the clock down with three centrebacks passing it sideways ably assisted by JWP. The manager has to take a lot of the credit because his team selections look like they are pulled out of a hat.
-
This manager is an idiot, Lyanco ??????, Elyonoussi ?????, Three at the back. Mara and Adams have no idea. Adams misses another one on one. Half time switch to four at the back take off Elyonoussi and Lyanco. Bring on Armstrong and Edozie and go for it. This is another clusterfuck caused by an obsessive three centrebacks manager picking a team that doesn't work and two players that should never have been picked.

I've watched Moffi playing (if you could call it that) for Lorient against Montpellier, bottom third, 0-2, and Anger bottom 2-1. If he touched the ball more than three times over both games I missed it. Never made it out of a trot and looked totally disinterested. Absolutely no goal threat. Lorient were poor as well. I thought we were bad but these two games took it to a whole new level of crap. Chez saw the same matches. He looked athletic but he'd make Moi look like an all action dynamo.

Adams is a poor finisher. Hard worker but a poor finisher. Tella has been really composed with his finishing plus he is much quicker than Adams who is not much better than the day he arrived. I'm not saying Tella is the answer to our problems but he would give us an extra edge when needed. He also plays from either flank and roams into the middle. He is obviously listening to what Kompany is telling him and consequently a much better player.

Weston Saint told me a transfer story he got from a Saints director he knew well. A club came to negotiate with us about a player that we wanted, the club wanted about £1m for him. We started the negotiations with something along the lines of, "Before you say anything I'm not going to pay any more than £2m" Apparently hand snatched and job done. Ron, was that near enough.

My thinking is he's a much improved player. He was involved in both Burnley goals on Saturday. He would give us options we don't have. Imagine signing a goalscoring winger who at the end of January gets injured for six weeks, Elyonoussie, Aribo, Walcott (if fit), Djenepo, A Armstrong. So much for cover. That in itself could relegate us.I'm wondering how many people are passing expert opinions without watching him play. Too many by the look of it. It is attractive to leave him at Burnley and see him rack up twenty goals-ish but not if we need him here.
-
Firstly, Are you currently watching him? I don't get your comment as you don't think he is good enough for the Premier why do you then think that Burnley would be keen to keep him if they swap leagues with us at the end of the season? He is playing the best I've ever seen him play and he's better than anybody we've got in the wide positions and certainly quicker than anyone. Aribo, Elyonoussie, A Armstrong aren't in the same class. Besides he isn't going to cost us anything. Maybe Burnley want to keep him and we're going to sell him on the cheap to raise a little bit of money to buy more slow lightweight crap.
-
Bring him back now and he may with a new striker give us the cutting edge to prevent that with 21 matches left.
-
I've watched quite a few because I wanted to see if he was improving. I've watched every minute of his last three games and he has improved, especially his awareness and positional play, both seeking space up front and closing down. He is a much more disciplined player now and has outstanding pace, his ball control has improved. He was battered by Swansea today but still caused the free kick for the first goal and set up the second. If he did nothing else he would give us a good option on either side. He also drifts into space on the blind side and middle and Burnley leave him up to exploit his pace. When defending he split the Swansea defence with a glorious through ball that wasn't exploited. Burnley give him the freedom to play as he sees it.
-
Reports of Akpom from Middlesborough, 12 goals as a striker including a hat trick probably for a lot of money. That's not much better than Tella's 8 goals plus assists and we only have to recall him. The Burnley commentator described him involved in everything. FFS I think Bednerak scored 5 goals last season. The only word I can use to describe our forwards is disgrace.
-
That was years ago. Armstrong is hiding and like a rabbit in the headlights and apart from being strong and a bustler Adams is no finisher and he never was clinical. Now allegedly we're looking at Moffi in a mediocre team amidst a load of mediocre teams. Monpellier and Anger were poor whilst Moffi was anonymous.
-
Having a decent game. Covering his full back well, pulled down on the edge of the penalty area on the break, Maatsen first goal from the free kick. Then played in Maatsen for the second. He is better than anyone we've got up front.
-
Starting for Burnley today.
-
He is still being paid good money by Lorient If that's what he's doing then he doesn't have the character we need. I don't want to see him going through the motions when we need him to bust a gut every game. He's nowhere near doing that, not even getting involved.
-
Watching Lorient this afternoon, beat Angers 2-1 away (Yan Valery at right back). Moffi only touched the ball a couple of times, never seemed to get into decent positions. Certainly on his last two games he doesn't look like he would be a lot of use unless he is spoon fed chances close in and that isn't going to happen. He looks athletic, mostly trots and we have too many of those, and its difficult to see if he has any pace because he made no sprints.
