You're obviously not aware of the Bristol Rovers bus story shortly followed by him leaving.

Why the hell is anyone wanting our biggest waster of chances, Adams anywhere near the team. I knew Jones didn't have a clue when he brought Adams on yesterday to try and get an equaliser. He is bloody hopeless as a striker. We've just paid £20ish m for a goalscorer so play him. As for Orsic he tore Chelsea apart not so long ago. Personally I'd go Bazunu, KWP ABK DCC Salisu, JWP Lavia Alcazar, Sulemana Onuachu Orsic. Play the full backs as out and out defenders. No more Kamikaze fullbacks leaving acres of space behind them to be exploited. Keep a solid five defenders including Lavia holding in front of the centre backs.
-
I'm not surprised he tried that as both free kicks IMO and obviously JWP's opinion were 5-10yds too close. There wasn't enough room between the wall and the goal to get enough dip to score. The ball was almost certain if it cleared the wall to go over the bar.

That ship has long sailed. I thought that Premier managers had to possess the highest EUFA coaching qualifications or they couldn't take the job. Personally give me the practical common sense manager that can see the big picture not the theoretical bollocks. They sadly are few. The systems brainwashing has a lot to answer for.
-
Precisely. It just goes to show what a load of bollocks all the coaching badges required are. I've got coaching badges and thought they were a load of irrelevances when it came to managing a team. The most important thing in any managers armoury is the ability to quickly assess players and put them together with others to create an effective team. Picking a favourite shape and trying to fit in often unsuitable players just provides what we have been exposed to with Nathan Jones. Now bring in someone who can put our best team out every week. The ability to apply common sense and put a team together is the only criteria. Forget all the academic bollocks.

As far as I'm concerned the selected team today was a disappointment. I couldn't really see a natural shape. I wondered why Bednarek and AMN were picked. Again five at the back didn't work and certainly shouldn't have been continued after the sending off but nothing happened. We needed a proper back four. We didn't need two Kamikaze full backs leaving bloody great gaps behind them. We needed a proper midfield Lavia holding, JWP and Alcaraz. Onuachu with Orsic and Sulemana. With those players we don't need kamikaze full backs. When Wolves went down to ten IMO there was no way back against that team. Even Traore could have been double banked instead of given a free pass. All the coaching badges on earth don't mean a thing because they don't teach common sense team selection. Balance is all important just doing what we did today wasn't a team performance it was random selections trying to play.

A hat trick today in the league following two in the cup and has 14 goals so far. How anybody could think we couldn't use him is beyond me. We couldn't score against ten men today and we don't need him
-
Could be a 4-2-3-1 with Lavia and AMN in front of back four.

Time to can the criticism and Vitriol until the final whistle tomorrow. It's time to support the team and see if we can rescue this clusterfuck of a season. If he picks the underperformers and we lose again then he deserves the reaction he'll get at the final whistle. On the other hand if he picks the new players and the best of the rest in a sensible formationand we get a result, fair play. Cheer them off.
-
They're probably pissed at him because he grabbed their handbags and that finished the scuffle. George O'Brien wasn't very big but he poleaxed 6ft Harry Harris against Newport with one of the best uppercuts I've been priviliged to see. Obviously Jones and Telles not in George's class.

I'm not a lover of Nathan Jones, Mostly from what I consider to be poor team selection and formations. Over my lifetime there have always managers that were quick with the repartee, especially the great Bill Shankly. Jones cracked a joke and laughed, so what. I'm a fan of Jethro and Max Boyce and find their Welsh and English jokes funny. The comment from Jones was a throwaway after he'd talked about if he'd not been a professional footballer. It seems to me that he has a target on his back from idiots that should know better. The way the press are trying to crucify him is disgraceful and typical of football journalism.
-
Have those effin idiots that keep putting up their example teams not yet worked out that we have two massive problems, we don't take our chances so we don't score enough goals and secondly we concede and lose to one or two goals in every game. The biggest problem by far is not scoring ourselves. Every time I see Adams touted as a striker or even a lone striker I know we are looking down both barrels, as a defeat is probably on the way. We cannot play players that continually fail to do their primary job and squander our really good chances and in the grand scheme of things provide not much of anything else. Adams is a failure, it just isn't going to suddenly change. It is what it is. We cannot afford to play him on the off chance. Especially as he is not improving.

If we try and use Onuachu as a target for up and unders he won't win much. His strength is in and around the six yd box, getting across defenders with head or feet so we need crosses coming in from the sides hard not floated preferably from the byeline. that's why I'd go with Sulemana on the right and Orsic to come in off the left. Alcaraz is also pretty handy in and around the penalty area. Onuachu is pretty sharp close in but looks awkward further out.
-
Ex Pompey manager, that'll work
-
I still think our best chance to score goals is to play players who can score goals. I'm not writing off players that have failed to score goals up to now but is time to give others a go. If we are to get goals we have to get to the byeline and put crosses into the penalty area. This game really is a one off cup tie, that's how we should play it. Personally I think if we are pressing high then we need pace at the back not Kamikaze full backs. We need to keep a solid back five (including Lavia HM) and defend en mass when Wolves break. I would play Bazunu, KWP (Bree or Lyanco), ABK (Bednarek), DCC, Salisu (not his best position but often has to cover it). JWP, Lavia, Alcaraz, Sulemana Onuachu, Orsic. I envisage JWP and Alcaraz getting into the box and supporting Onuachu plus whichever of Orsic or Sulemana is free. My doubts about KWP and ABK fitness availability at this time are the reason for alternatives in brackets. I've got a feeling it won't be anything like that and we will be tearing our collective hair out when the team is announced at two o'clock on Saturday.
-
So why didn't he keep that team having stumbled on it. Seems to me that selection was an accident and the rest of the selections with Adams back was the real modus operandi.
-
I think that just after two o'clock will be the point that will dictate what the atmosphere in the stadium will be. If Jones picks another of his bugger's muddle teams that makes little sense and looks like a loser from the off, especially if the defence starts off in our usual disjointed fashion then the stadium will react badly. On the other hand if he picks a balanced team as against Man City containing the four new players that then rips into Wolves, then the stadium will react by supporting them. In addition Bree might have to be in the team due to the possible fitness issue with KWP.

I gave up my season ticket after many years watching garbage. After Koeman It went pear shaped and looked nothing like I wanted it to be. When Covid came I just didn't renew. I have a great IPTV so I've not missed a game since. I'm just yelling at the tv or laptop now, nothing changes. Getting old is a pest, although I'm still playing regular golf in spite of it. At least my brain is functioning well, I'm driving a fast car not exactly a Boeing. Best wishes for your recovery.
-
I hope you're better soon.

Everybody but KWP and the two long term fitness players are in the gallery photos

Mind you he could also possibly be Saints fan 4 Life.

I was referring to the original training alone post. The 606 rumour I'm not so sure.

Very few on here know who Charlie Miller is but it is very likely true.

That's an absolute disgrace. that's nearly half our best team right there. The man is a complete pillock!!!!!
