  1. Didn't see either (but wasnt looking too hard to be honest)!
  2. Somehow they have broken the transfer embargo! http://www.thespoof.com/news/spoof.cfm?headline=s6i66708
  3. I'd love to take part. Depending on amount etc may also be able to sponsor something. Do you want me to register my details somewhere?
  4. The "PFC FINANCE" link should be quite interesting
  5. Is a record fee for a transfer between third tier clubs (as opposed to a player transferring to a higher division)?
  6. Interesting as this is pretty much where the spread bets have us finishing.
  7. Is it definitely 9th Sept? If so then unfortunately this clashes with the Eng vs Aus one dayer at the Rosebowl so to paraphrase Duncan Bannatine - I'm out. Sorry
  8. My understanding is that ML is supporting the club to the tune of around £5m pa in running costs and he has underwritten this for a number of years. I also believe (as opposed to understand) that funds for player purchase will be available as and when we are positioned to push for promotion either this year but more likely next year.

And what is the whole story exactly? Do we include the Southern League titles and FA Cup finals from the turn of the century (when the Southern League was the equal of the Football League)? Do we acknowledge the part that Southampton Football Club played in introducing the game to Brazil (which is a part of our history that we should make much more noise about both here and around the world)? Do we acknowledge that the attendance records pre war are simply eye witness estimates and as such cannot be relied upon and therefore the only attendance facts are those from the post war period? We are what we are and to be honest even in division 3 we are still a bigger chip on your shoulder than you are on ours.
  10. "If internal and external harmony coalesce we are approaching sporting excellence. It is unity within a club which encourages this. Uncertain futures lead to uncertain performances. Leeds is the perfect example. Harmony off the field leads to success on it." Exactly the change we have hopefully made. The internal fighting and disunity of the RL and subsequent years to a club unified from top to bottom. A company in turmoil is destined to fail. Same for a football club. Our part in this is to have the patience and show support through thick and thin, good and bad.
  11. The Chinese say that when you go on a journey of revenge you should prepare two graves.
  12. I understood from inside the club that Pinnacle beat the Swiss to exclusivity by a couple of hours. The club's view was that the Swiss were more professional in their approach and the questions they were asking were clearly indicating a level of experience and resources over and beyond that of Pinnacle. I have also been told that it was a week after exclusivity before Pinnacle's lawyers were appointed which bemused a few. I am not saying that Pinnacle wont complete or that the Swiss will now step in but it will continue to go down to the wire - and we are not there yet.
  13. Does that mean there is such a thing as a "Pizza Farm"??
  14. Also those attendance figures (pre war) are verbal and visual estimates. Nothing like facts to settle an arguement eh? As far as attractions and visitors are concerned the ONS report for visitors to UK towns and cities list the top 20 visited. In 2007 Southampton is 13th with an increase of 28% on the previous year. Portsmouth isnt listed in the top 20. 1 London -7 2 Manchester -6 3 Birmingham 0 4 Blackpool 5 5 Bristol -15 6 Scarborough 8 7 Leeds -2 8 York -4 9 Sheffield 21 10 Newcastle upon Tyn -16 11 Bournemouth 1 12 Isle of Wight -3 13 Southampton 28 14 Brighton and Hove -3 15 Nottingham -23 16 Liverpool -32 17 Torquay 35 18 Norwich 9 19 Skegness -21 20 Plymouth 24
  15. You might be right but I've spent 10 mins googling best cities in UK and can't find a single example. He has quoted surveys - I'd like to see one that's all.
  16. Not seen that. Can you link to one before this becomes another urban myth?
  17. Sorry to be a pedant but I read it that they are acquiring the assets of SLH including SFC. I assume this means stadium, Staplewood, Jacksons Frm etc etc and leaves debt behind.
  18. The football club is simply an asset of SLH and it can be sold just as any other asset of SLH can be sold. There is not necessarily a tie in between the refinancing (through a sale to new owners) of SFC and the question of the stadium and debt surrounding the stadium. It would of course be in the interests of the admin to link the two transactions but in theory if SFC is well (comparatively) funded then the continuance of rental and other income from the stadium will more than service the SLH stadium debt especially if sufficient working capital is provided to the football club to increase the quality of its covenant. In this scenario it isnt beyond the realms of possibility that the football club deal could be secured cheaply and easily and be followed by the refinancing of the stadium and (to a much smaller degree) SLH. The complicating issues then become the other assets required to run the football club (Staplewood) and the structure of the deals on these assets.
  19. The FL won't actually care unless we stay up as it will be only then that there will be any real ramifications - If we are relegated anyway it will just be a question of how many points will we start with and this can be argued over the summer. If we stay up and the 10 pt deduction relegates us then the implications of a successful appeal will scare the FL to death. Wouldn't it be ironic??
  20. 100% agree. I will take as many people as I can possibly drag along.
  21. I'm only telling you what I've been told by family. Talks are just that - talks.
  22. What sort of cost? How much sponsorship do you need? PM me please. I may know someone who might help.
  23. He is in talks with Portsmouth. Link is Hart from his Forest days.
  24. Formed on April 9th. Rufus Brevett named director.
  25. My understanding is that the continuance of the season after Sat is to a degree dependent on Sat's result as this will affect the forecast attendance for the Burnley game. It may be that if the forecast for this is low because of perhaps results going against us then the decision may be made to "pull the plug". Part of the problem is that the Forest game is in May which is an additional month for all the overheads etc. I also understand that serious bidders have been asked for proof of funding. There will undoubtedly and inevitably be an element of brinkmanship and politics within this process.
