-
Cheaper tickets ? not a chance

Saints 4 actual goals vs 0 Blackburn - Match Thread
redandwhitey replied to Convict Colony's topic in The Saints
didn't he play for Everton when all that kicked off ? -
That's the spirit ! I'll go for the 1-2 away win
-
lots of people on here a few weeks ago suggesting points before performances was what was needed - well we have that from the last four games. Very good win today. Quite positive if we can pick up 3 points away having played as badly as reported on here
-
Perhaps these three points were part of the transfer fee ??
-
Watching today’s video, would people prefer Sulemana or Piroe
-
When do we have to sign a goalscorer by in order to play on Saturday ? Asking for a friend...
-
To be fair to Liverpool FC (not my normal stance) it isn't them announcing it, just some "ITK" wannabe As previously said, until a relevant offer is accepted by Saints it is just noise/nonsense
-
No bednarek to be seen on pitch or Bench
-
Have Leicester actually signed thes players or are they just linked ?
-
At least, a far as tactics are concerned, he used his loaf.
-
Haven’t been to Millwall for a year or two, so look forward to that one.
-
Or, it could all be in place and they could be waiting to announce it once the season ends on Sunday. just a thought…..
-
Perhaps he can play a part next year. Strikers play well when confident and not when in and out of a team in various wrong positions. I would rather give him a chance than spend budget on another unknown
-
Probably the same way Liverpool didn’t approach Van Dyke ??
-
Not sure it is just me, but I quite enjoyed MOTD 2 without all the usual punditry bull that surrounds a big six match where they didn’t get the results expected didn’t miss the commentary either
-
I listened to the Press Conference and noted the comments above about it all being about him, being self centred etc etc but to be fair the questions were mainly all about him, his reaction to last week and so on. It is impossible to defend the Premier League record since he arrived, but lets say he promotes his "style" of football be that direct, fast transition or long ball and gets three wins in a row or even enough wins between now and the end of the season to keep us up, who on here will still be berating him and his style ? Is it really about systems and style or is it just about points ?

Enjoyed the trip despite the result, but that level of support is what is needed at home games from now to the end of the season. less groaning, more singing

What - like Alcaraz you mean ?
-
Disappointed to say the least, the game was spoiled by weak refereeing early on, and the disallowed goal was a very soft decision. Emery played a perfect plan as an away side, ensuring that we had no time in midfield and when we had “possession “ it was often headed clearances and very rushed. Some players trying to gain some time and space made silly mistakes and panicked. villa not much better than us in the game but they were more astute at the dark side with nightly fouls etc. I thought surrounding the ref and harassing them was against the rules ? (Forcing the BAR check ?

You are right, of course, as fans we can't expect to have all of the answers. But when you read this thread there are lots of people who "know" what is wrong, why not speculate on the solutions rather than just criticise constantly without offering any options, even replacing the classic "we need a Jimmy Case" with a current feasible option would probably spark a reasonable debate about transfer targets.
-
Not sure why the strategy of buying young players to develop is a surprise, we have had this policy in place for a while. I do agree that that is not what is needed right now, but please guys, some of the comments on here are extreme. Jones is our new manager and is very unlikely to be replaced, so like it or not that is the way forward. I see all the demands for strikers "right now" but very few suggestions of who is realistically a target (availability/price etc) or even solid suggestions, not just Wolves/Leeds/Forest have done it, why can't we ?? etc. Lots of theory without substance being stated as fact (no funds/selling xyz before we buy) why not bring the blood pressure down a little and discuss the potential targets rather than we need a forward/midfielder/defender. Perhaps we need a separate thread for "spleen venting" 2023 ?? and keep this one for transfer news and views

What is the best goal you've ever seen live at a Saints game?

And Benali deserves a mention
