I've just spoken to Andrew Surman and I asked him is he off, he replied he heard the rumor as well. I also asked why he didnt play today and he said he has an ankle injury he then pulled his sock down and he was wearing an ankle support. Very nice guy.

I went to the Rovers game and Ill never forget the look on Surmans and BWP faces when they came towards us and we booed them off the park, Id never seen such an awful match in 30+ years of following SFC.

On another thread someone was slated for saying that he wanted Saints to lose matches, when I heard we were 3 nil down I said to the missus we could do with losing this match heavily, after all what difference does it make losing 7-0 to 3-2 apart from the goal difference, perhaps it would have woke people up to see what a mess we are in. After supporting the Saints since the 60s I dont think I have ever been so depressed as I am these days.

I can remember when McMenemy joined the club from Grimsby back in the 70s & I spoke to a relative from Grimsby and asked him what he was like as a manager his reply was "For getting people behind the team fantastic, tactically in relation to football crap" LM used to take the team around places like Fords & the docks. I think this built a good relationship between the fans and the team, which I think has gone downhill over the last 10 years. Perhaps JP is very much the same.

Did Crouch spend too much? from what I remember it was Wilde that was in charge when we bought the players in for 7 million. Crouch was only in charge from Xmas 07 till the end of the season during that time the club bought in Davis the center half who Lowe sold for a profit, he also loaned out 2 of the highest paid players for which he also got slagged for. Why did the finance director who is still there say or do nothing about it? Some people on this forum forget that it was Wildes board that approved the spending they also got rid of Wilde and left Crouch high and dry. Why do we have to go over this time & time again?

Perhaps we should do what a lot of companies do, that is sell the factory in our case the stadium and then rent it back. What that does is allow the renting company to spend the money on equipment which the company needs again in our case would be players, without the burden of a morgage. After all why spend 25M on a stadium which doesnt make us play better.
