  1. He wanted £10k a week at Pompey and thats when Cotterill told him to fook off
  2. But before you can even think about Champions League footy you have to get up and stay up which is far harder now than ever before
  3. Its the only model you can follow in order to get top 4.
  4. Good luck to you if you do a Man City but in order to get Champions League footy you would need to spend in the region of £300m (15 x £20m players) in order to stand a chance of qualifying. This would exclude the £90,000 a week wages these type of players would demand, which adds a wage bill of £70m per annum exclusive of other bonuses.
  5. Gonna love readings MLG's thoughts on this!

Southampton Academy 2 Pompey Academy 2 Pompey picked up a point at Staplewood – but only an injury-time goal denied them all three. The Blues looked like they would complete a league double over their rivals as strikes from Carl Walshe (pictured) and Ryan Williams – who both netted in Saturday’s draw at Fulham – gave them a two-goal interval lead. But Jake Sinclair came off the bench and pulled one back for the hosts on 67 minutes before grabbing the equaliser at the death. Academy manager Andy Awford said: “We played very well in the first half and picked things up after falling below our usual standards at Fulham.. “Carl Walshe finished off a good team move to put us ahead, before Ryan Williams scored a fine individual effort. “We dominated for long periods and were the better team in the first half. We deserved our lead and could – and perhaps should – have been further ahead. “But Southampton upped their game after the break – as you’d expect from the home side – and they punished us for being sloppy in possession by pulling a goal back. “Their equaliser came about five minutes into injury time and I don’t where the referee got that much added time from. “But we can’t use that as an excuse because we didn’t do well enough in closing their player down on the edge of the box. “That’s an area we haven’t addressed properly and something we’ll be working on ahead of Saturday’s match against Norwich. “But overall I’m delighted with the attitude and commitment shown by the players. The fact that every face in the dressing room after the game looked disappointed shows how far they’ve come in the last six weeks – back then they would have been delighted with a point. “We’re by no means the finished product yet but we’ve made steady progress and that pleases me.” Pompey: Gledhill; Tallack, Magri, Tsovolos, Grant; Stockford ©, Colson; Williams, Harris (Jennings 76), Butler; Walshe (Fitzharris 90) Subs not used: Fry, Seeley, Vine Southampton: Dovey; Nicholas, Foot, Martin, O’Sullivan; Holder-Spooner, Moore, Robinson (Ward-Prowse 64), Isgrove (Chambers 24); Hoskins, Curtis (Sinclair 64) Sub not used: Young

SO was Pennant at the same age, fame and money will likely turn him into another Pennant

In truth no. We had one shot first half of any real note which was the free kick. Your keeper Mourmont? was not exactly good. Very poor kicking and should of saved the free kick. We have a bit of a gem in Williams who scored our 2nd goal but having 2 players in a team doesnt make you win that many games. Your winger Isgrove and Argent (I think the forward) are bloody quick and will play at a decent level. Given Lallanas injury I am quite surprised Isgrove wasnt given a chance tbh but I suppose with AOC the other side it may be too much inexperience

I went to the derby game on Saturday. Ward-Prowse didnt look anything special to me. Isgrove on the other hand was a real handful
  10. George Boyd is 6 ft 2 ish iirc
  11. Peterbrough played with three up front basically. Boyd - McLean - Mackail-Smith
  12. Surely an alternative to Lambert to allow him a rest now and then?
  13. No idea, but he was on £3,000 a week at 17 so I doubt hes short of money. As I said earlier if you can get his head right you have a ready made replacement for Ox
  14. Got released by us in the summer, to my amazement. Ready made replacement for Ox imo if his head is sorted out
  15. Class midfielder. Would genuinely be gutted if he went to you lot :-(
  16. I suspect the home grown European rule is in their thinking

  18. So West Ham £100m in debt bid £13m for Loic Remy is not cheating either? Or willing to buy David Beckham for his neglible wages?
  19. Go on a day trip to France and drop it in the channel
  20. Not taking any sides but the cost involved in getting an updated database is a big big number in the first place with lots and lots of man hours put in. If only we coined commision
  21. Huddersfield
  22. George Boyd of Peterbrough is better than Lambert and anyone else in this division
  23. The value of a manager is down to the club who is selling. Exactly the same with players unless they have an agreed release clause
  24. God forbid clubs teling press what fans want to hear? Wait a minute, thats what pompey fans got slated for believing the press that our finances were ok
