Just seen this brilliant tribute to the great Finn. He was truly an outstanding goalkeeper, certainly the best I have seen in my days supporting Saints (sinces the mid 1990s). Made a decent save in the All-Star game the other day, still got the reactions. For those of you who have been supporting Saints longer ... would you say he is our best ever? I am sure people will say Shilton or Flowers, but I think in the modern day game where the ball travels so much faster and at sometimes strange trajectories it would be hard to judge how these two would have done?

Brentford will have young Simon Moore in goal today, a lad I know from the IOW, e did our level 2 coaching course together. He as been given a run in the team due to an injury to Richard Lee and has done really well by all accounts. He also got a run out at Wembley in the JPT final, made a great save, just a shame they lost 1-0 to Carlisle. Top bloke, just hope he has an off day today ;-). COYS!

Nice to see lots of messages of support from plenty of other managers. Must be time for him to call it quits though, surely football is not worth risking your health over?

It really is not good enough with the value of our squad compared to all the other teams in the league ... 2 steps forward 1 step back all the time!

People say Pardew talks a better game ... I think Pardew delivers more on the pitch, Adkins loves to talk in quips and anecdotes. I think he IS likeable and must be given credit for the job he did at S****horpe. However, there was nowhere near the same level of pressure at Glandford Park as there is at St Mary's and I don't think Adkins is the man to deliver the success we crave. Sacking Pardew will prove to be a mistake. Being likeable does not make for a successful manager, just look at Ferguson, Wenger, Capello.

Even at the start of the game, the Chapel end that we were defending was poor, I noticed the Exeter keeper came out early for the second half and got them to fork it.

Just had a look on the PFA website and notice that Jeremie Aliadiere and Febian Brandy are both on free transfers, not bad strikers for this level? I am a big fan of Kelvin Davis but if Adkins does want to replace the keeper, I notice that Brian Jensen has handed in a transfer request, he made some brilliant saves in the PL for Burnley last season. Another Burnley player who could certainly DAJFU is Kevin MacDonald, who has just returned to them on loan from S****horpe. Only 22 and a real good prospect. Would be good to see us bringing in some players who would be able to help challenge at the right end of the Championship if we can get there this season.
