  1. Agree. Been noticeable for quite a while now.
  2. Would take him in a heartbeat but wages would be prohibitive.
  3. Would like us to play Chambers and Clyne. Push Clyne forward instead of SD.
  4. Like this team with the exception of Wanyama. Still not fit in my opinion, and way off the pace. The speed of the Liverpool attackers will destroy him.
  5. Watching Barcelona play last night without a recognised front man, perhaps we need one or two attacking midfield men who can score goals.
  6. Looking at Manchester City tonight, they played as we did earlier in the season. Chased everything, harried Chelsea all game and kept possession. We need to do the same, but SRL and some others seemed to lack the energy today.
  7. Seeing your post reminded me of the many happy hours spent on Sarisbury Green with about 20 or so guys playing football. Anybody could play, just added on to one or other of the sides. Great days. Cricket was good as well, especially when Hampshire used to play in a yearly evening fixture. Roy Marshall used to regularly break windows hitting sixes. Wouldn't be allowed today I guess with H & S.
  8. Couthino playing beautifully. Shame we could not persuade him to come to Southampton.
  9. Personally, I have gone past stripes. Think the red is here to stay. Stripes look old-fashioned to my eye now.
  10. Sorry, can't agree. Wanyama was terrible first half. Continually passed into trouble and was way off the pace of the match. When Cork came on the transformation was fantastic. Passes went to our players and tackling was crisp and accurate.
  11. Agree. Hope Fulham stay up myself.
  12. Agree with all of the above. Undoubtedly it was Boruc who kept us in the game first half. Couple of super saves. Wanyama was a liability. Slow, and couldn't pass to save his life. Transformed after the interval with the introduction of Cork. What a player. Perfect foil for Morgan who I thought was MOM.
  13. Hernandez would be a name that would lift the gloom from the sodden West Country.
  14. Think he would be great for a season maybe two. Would cover our slender resources at CB.
  15. Would love to see us make a cheeky offer for Torres. Thought he was brilliant first half yesterday. Final third has been a less than fulfilling area for us this season and he might be just the man to bring us to life.
  16. Think he could be a very good attacking midfield player for us. With Clyne as RB we would have a pretty strong right side.
  17. Thanks Glasgow.
  18. Have any of the Serie A watchers got an update on Astoori formbook.

    Coutinho

Such a shame we couldn't persuade him to come to Southampton. Class player who would have been ideal for our style of play. Looked very good yesterday.
  20. Thought Wanyama got caught in possession far too often. Passing was poor for a Premier league player. Osvaldo looks out of his comfort zone and I think we need to look for a striker in January/Summer. Someone like Lukaku would be ideal. We were well beaten in the end.

Wanyama seems to be somewhat of a problem player for us at the moment. Seems slow in his thinking process and has been guilty of giving the ball away far too often. Last year the team pinged the ball around the pitch, but so far it is more sideways or backwards at a pedestrian pace and this is giving the opposition the time to nip in and win the ball. Lallana is a bit of a luxury in my view. Poor delivery and too many touches on the ball. JWP much better option.
  22. As I recall there were three main targets. Osvaldo or Leandre, Banega and Wanyama. So I still think we may get Banega if he wants to come.
  23. Welcome Pablo. Now for Ever Banega !
  24. Lived in Winchester, Colden Common, Sarisbury Green when I was younger. Moved to London then finally Somerset.
  25. Striker would be my preference. Would love to have John Terry for a couple of seasons at CB.
