  1. Man, I am gutted but delighted. Gutted because he is/has been our talisman. He's made Lallana look good (well even better). But how can you deny him a move to his boyhood club. I have nothing but absolute love for the guy and wish him all the best. He's reminded me that there are some decent players out there. He's kept our young lads' feet on the ground too.
  2. Pardew, Adkins, MoPo - which manager installed by your board in the last fie years didn't meet with your aspirations?? Answer - you hated all of them, you missed all of them the moment they were fired. You realised quickly the incumbent was better. But now, five years in you think we're going to go backwards?
  3. Absolutely. The question is, was the plan delivered by Kathy or Nicola? The concern is that Nicola was the man behind our success and now we don't have him. That's all I worry about. Not a single decision made by this 'Club' over the past five years has not driven our club forward. The question is, who on the board was it? And will it continue without Nicola?? How odd is this, not resenting a manager leaving (that is his right) but lamenting a lost Chairman!!! I will give Kathy and Raif the benefit of the doubt until they show me otherwise.
  4. They have all said that MoPo is happy with the situation - you can play semantics all day long. Are you expecting a daily update of his emotional state? This is top class sport - you should ignore everything you read in the press and assume that everything is being done professionally as it has been at this club since Markus bought it! It would be lunacy for anyone to say anything to the press. If Mo is negotiating a new contract wouldn't it be a little naïve to come out and say he has no intention of leaving? And if Ralph said 'we're desperate to keep him' it would be equally naïve. Not one word reported in the press has any substance. Not one. No quotes. Nothing. Nada. Zilcho. It's all speculation. And the best approach is to totally ignore it. As I'm sure the management and players do. The four players we are 'concerned about' are all preparing for the biggest tournament of their lives. Which will be their primary focus right now. What you can be assured is that... We survived the departure of McMenemy. We survived the departure of Hoddle. We survived the departure of Strachan. We survived Rupert Lowe. We survived losing Pardew (most on here were suicidal). We survived losing Adkins (most on here were homicidal towards Nicola). We will survive whatever this summer throws at us. My money is on the manager and our entire squad being together with a few new entrants and a genuine European challenge next season. Perhaps a cup.
  5. Kruger, Les Reed and MoPo have all said in the last month variations of the fact that there is a year on his contract, that they are planning for the future and that they speak as a management team every day. Kruger gave a very honest, live interview immediately after the United game saying that none of the three of him, Reed or MoPo can understand any of the nonsense in the media. Surely that's enough? If contract negotiations are on-going, great. But in whose interest would it be to speak to the press??
  6. Harry Redknapp was 1/2 to be England Manager.
  7. So the fact that the manager, Chairman and Football Director have all said he is happy and has a year left on his contract which is why they cannot fathom all the concern has passed you by has it?
  8. Wonder if MoPo has been speaking to Osvaldo about Spurs? Argentinians do see to do well there. Conversely who would want to work for Daniel Levy?
  9. On the way home from the Manchester United game, Ralph gave a live and honest interview to Adam Blackmore. Find it and listen to it. It's more than Woodward said this week and he HAS to say things by law because of market conditions. I need to know NOTHING more. Fans on here would do well to either: a) feck off on holiday and come back in August, to avoid the stress they are apparently feeling b) grow a pair and act like they have achieved a mental age beyond 13 c) understand that all of this is a game played out in the media for the benefit of the media to SELL media... Your Chairman stated clearly that the board will do what is in the best interests of the club. That means buying and selling footballers. Are Spurs lacking ambition because they sold Bale? Are United lacking ambition because they sold Ronaldo? No. These clubs are all trying to be more successful. And being successful is about making decisions. Which are being made. If he came out tomorrow and said that none of our players were for sale, it would simply be a message to up their value. And no-one would believe him anyway. EVERY footballer is for sale at the right price if it suits the club and/or player.
  10. Has anyone on this site watched Liverpool? Does anyone who has think they need a creative midfielder? I don't. All bias aside, buying Lallana would be an attempt by Liverpool/Rodgers to appeal to fans populism rather than address the reason they didn't win the league. This whole transfer thing is bonkers. Liverpool need new FULL BACKS - both of theirs are woeful. United need a creative midfielder... These bids seem to be either from the wrong club or for the wrong players...
  11. Me neither in fairness. If you want loyalty, buy a dog. One poor season and we'd all be calling for him to be dropped... Would be a shame to see him go so young though. When we don't need to sell him. I haven't written off him, Adam ad Rickie competing here for CL positions next year. Kat isn't short of a few bob. Just depends how much fun she wants..
  12. 1. All the women are orange. 2. All the women spit on you when they speak. 3. It's not a football club, it's an institution. 4. The only people you find in institutions aren't there by choice. 5. The women are orange. 6. They only race eight times a year at Aintree. Eight times?! 7. It rains. It's the rain shadow effect - see O-Level Geography texts from 1986. 8. Did I mention that all the women are orange? 9. This was their chance to win the league. You missed the boat. 10. You'll never get a fake tan. They're fully booked.
  13. I'm thinking Vegas?
  14. I know another young players parents and they wouldn't let him buy a sports car, let alone take money off him... Just depends what your values are doesn't it.
  15. £47m? What the f... Suarez is worth twice Lallana?? Don't think so. Shaw - £35m. Lallana £40m. And not a penny less.
  16. Luke is 18 and (according to the Guardian) already on £25,000 a week - or £1.3m per year (plus whatever deals he can command for watches, boots and stuff). Why would he want to leave Surrey (East Molesey, no less) and move to Cheshire where it rains all the fecking time? He's in the England squad. He can win stuff here. We'll get better. United are going backwards. If he wants to earn the big bucks, hang around here for a while then, aged 20, with a bit more life under his belt, he can take his pick of Munchen, Barca, Real, Citeh... And we'll see if United are resurgent by then. They might not be you know.
  17. If Bale was worth £85m, £27m for Shaw is an insult.
  18. Why is United's priority a left back? Has that been their Achilles Heel this season? So much so that they have to buy the best young left-back in the world? Even before they're going to have to replace Van Persie?? Perhaps they plan for Luke to play up front? United are in trouble. RVP wants away and they'll struggle to attract big names this summer with no offer of CL football. He may well go there and for £27m, but as their first priority, before they even have a manager? Sure...
  19. I think Rooney's been poor this season against the top sides. He was anonymous in two European games that mattered. So he scored from the halfway line against West Ham, so what? Most overrated player currently playing.
  20. It's true. Ashley has been tweeting about it all night. Shaw in, Cole out.
  21. You still can't cope that Brett Ormerod has a better goals to minute ratio than anyone else in our squad! My post represents more factual content than 99% of the remainder of this thread.
  22. Here are some facts. 1. Luke Shaw is 18 and lives down the road from me in East Molesey. 2. Manchester United have no manager.
  23. Mate, I have no disagreement. I want him gone. I just don't see how staying away helps. My view? We'll go into administration and Lowe and Wilde will STILL be here. And we'll be in League One... God, what an appealing prospect.
  24. Which benefit other clubs... So what is your reason for staying away from St Marys and what do you plan/hope for it to achieve?? Not hard to answer is it... Bit feel free to resort to abuse... yawn, yawn...
