  1. Exactly. We have little choice but to pray that the team is good enough to gain more points than three other teams. Saying things like "what if Watford or Charlton improve?" or "What if we lose next week." doesn't come into it. Reflect on the whole situation after each game if you must, but don't take one result or even a few results as an indication that this is how we will always play and that we are doomed to failiure. As I said before, this team is inconsistent. Results like Reading and Derby show that.
  2. And if you lived your life in fear of what might happen, well you don't really have much of a life at all.
  3. Then we will be in a worse situation than we are in now. We currently have a reasonable chance of survival so I shall continue to go to as many games as I can, drinking with my mates and hoping that we will see a saints win. You can continue to moan on here, go absent when we get a victory and then post more than anyone following a loss. If we have lost 30-0 today it would not have changed our points situation so I don't give a toss. We were terrible today but that does not mean we are doomed. I repeat, we have a reasonable chance of survival.
  4. The leeds result has to go down there as well. He can't have seen many matches if he thinks this is the worst.
  5. I agree but why go mental over something which hasn't happened yet? We could make a few astute loan signings or unearth a gem like Schneiderlin or better. I can't tell the future but I can look at the part of the season which has passed and say I am satisfied. I expected to do worse than our current position so I am satisfied. I set my sights low and I'm not being disappointed. Crystal Palace are a better team than us, plain and simple. I'll start losing sleep once we're bottom of the league and five points from safety like Charlton but not before. Why shout that relegation is a certainty after a few bad results when we aren't even in the relegation zone? It doesn't make any sense. Anyway the Forest game will be the biggie. Win that and we should hopefully start to pull clear.
  6. Plymouth Charlton Leeds Watford and Preston have all been worse in recent seasons IMO. Not really important though to be honest.
  7. It's enough to currently be above the relegation zone.
  8. I watched this on TV and it was definitely not the worst performance over the last few years.
  9. Fine then Reading and Derby and the Birmingham cup game. It doesn't matter because the point still stands. We don't have to be good, we just have to be better than three other teams.
  10. Well even if that were true (I personally disagree.) It is currently GOOD ENOUGH.
  11. In which case maybe some of these comments would be more valid then!
  12. Unless three teams perform worse than you or you do well away from home.
  13. Have we been ****e in every game this season? The only thing we have to do is be less ****e in games than three teams. The temptation after games like Reading, Preston and Derby is to go overboard and the same is true after crap performances like this.
  14. It doesn't matter as long as we stay above the bottom 3.

  16. Precisely. It isn't great of course!
  17. It was only a couple of weeks ago that we beat Reading away from home. We are inconsistent not consistently ****e.
  18. I'm not going to respond to you anymore. Anyone can see you are a reactionary idiot and your posts speak for themselves. Um Pahars didn't agree with me but his reply was a structured argument.
  19. If and when that happens I will be concerned. It hasn't yet and we are actually in a better situation than we were a couple of weeks ago! With some comments you would think we were dead and buried yet we arent even in the relegation zone.
  20. Are we in the relegation zone? Are we bottom of the league? No so we aren't in trouble. There is a threat of relegation but I'm not making a mountain out of a molehill.
  21. Please show me which part of my post was complacent? It's factual sure but complacent? I appreciate with kids you will have a lot of inconsistencies. I have also seen many many more games than you this season so I am better qualified to make a judgement.
  22. Meh. I predicted a loss before the game. I was happy to avoid relegation at the beginning of the season and we are currently achieving that. Occasionally I also get to see some good football so I feel happier than some of the games I watched last season. With a young team you will always get gash performances like this but as long as we keep our heads above water that will do for me. No point in being suicidal. If we were Charlton I would probably be very worried but we are still above the relegation zone.
  23. Erm well in my opinion the strategy isn't flawed if it achieves its objectives, which is to avoid relegtion.

  25. I don't really want to debate things like this with posters who are just posting to get a reaction.
