Maybe for you but I still feel the spirit of Southampton in a lot of things. Most definitely when I ring fellow fans and hear of their passion for the team and everything about it.

My new years resolution is to be become a positive person! I'm not suggesting that we will go on any sort of run but I'm not going to predict that we are certain relegation candidates after every loss. As somebody else has said today, we aren't as bad as some people on here would have you believe. If we are going to go down anyway, we may as well go down supporting as much as we can. At least if I take the positives from this game instead of focussing on the negatives then I can have a bloody cheerful week before Saturday.

I'm liking these positive threads. The spirit of Southampton will never die whilst its true supporters still support in the same way they have done for years. Things may well get worse but eventually things will improve and we will get back to where we belong.

Um I am fully aware of our form this season. I also understand that much of it is cause by playing a bunch of kids in the division. I don't really think you can deny that many on here are eager to criticise and write off our chances against every team week in week out.

Love you too xxx

I don't consider a win to be a false dawn. I recognise we could well lose next week and play terribly because we are badly inconsistent. The key is to get enough wins to survive! Anyway lets hope for the best next week. COYR

I think you need to reread some prediction threads from a couple of months back when we actually looked quite comfortable. Many many people predict humiliating defeats every week. It's the defeatist attitude that I object to. When we lose we are billed as certain for relegation yet when we win it's just one win and "it will count for nothing if we lose next week" (of course it counts for something, a good result isn't cancelled out just because we get a bad result the following week!) FS some people were suggesting it would be a good thing to go into admin and take the ten point deduction as we were already down!

Not 2 months ago we weren't...
-
But then after every single loss this season it's been the end of the world for many. Lets just enjoy the win today! It gives me more hope that we can win next week and pull clear.

I agree but it will be nice to concentrate on the positives for once. Some people seem to give up before the game has even started. I would pont to games like both the Reading ones and Sheffield United away where many predicted we would get killed. Perhaps one of the best things about watching the team is you never know how it's going to go!
-
Yep but by all accounts he played a big part in us getting the points today. Good so far.
-
Well today is a good start. Well done to Jan and Wotte for getting size. It sounds like they identified exactly what was needed ad used their football knowledge to get it!
-
He was looking at a paper to learn people's names! He sounded great TBH.
-
If we stay up that's a success in my book.
-
Yes but it does often sound like people on here have very extreme views. We haven't been great but then we are not the worst in the division either. We have to take the positives when we can so today I'm hoping for a wave of positivity on here!
-
Certainly nicer to win and win well.
-
Very harsh after a win. Perhaps his English means that he doesn't communicate as effectively as he could.
-
Jan on Hampshire sounds worried that we didn't play good football. Why does that matter?
-
I think there's a market for the official saints positivity thread on here!
-
It seems that some of that famous American positivity is what was needed!
-
Thank you Tim for providing an objective view. I think it helps being away frim the madness in LA!
-
I would take a point.

I actually agree with Tim on this one. Holmes is back, we have a new cb who looks handy, saga is raring to go and we have surprised a few teams just when it looked like we would get killed. Grumbling is only going to make things worse but support might just be beneficial. I'm praying for 21st and we aren't out of it yet. Win even 2 of the next 3 and our situation looks heaps better. Ok cork has gone but I'm hopeful that saga and the cb will add some experience we need with skacel davis perry and even surman nowadays! Add a mean dmf and we have a good chance of survival

The team SHOULD be Davis James Perry New bloke Other new bloke BWP Lallana Surman Skacel/Holmes Saga Another signing It won't be though.
