I would prefer Boothroyd but he is my second choice.

It's Tristan.

We didn't act like that anyway. We never once said anything against Doncaster, it was purely against Lowe. You think supporters of another club would be sympathetic.

Tony Adams is wearing a hideous tie.

I've spoken to Steve about this in private and I won't be discussing it again on here. As I pointed out to him, my posts are far from perfect and in my opinion are often worse than Steve's, it's just that I feel his have declined markedly whereas mine have always been consistently poor! Anyway the matter is closed as far as I am concerned.

Often it is not what you say Steve but how you say it. I was simply suggesting that many have taking exception to the patronising tone of a lot of your replies. Feel free to dismiss my comments as abuse but there was no malice involved. I am genuinely saddened that you have lowered yourself to be part (and often the ringleader) of the pettiness and oneupmanship. In no way am I suggesting that my posts are perfect at all but I really think you could do with thinking before you post a bit more sometimes. Obviously it is different at the moment when things have reached breaking point, but you have been this way for quite some time. Try not to react in a patronising or aggressive manner to other posters and you will almost certainly return to being a thoroughly interesting and informative poster. Feel free to take offence but if you do then you have missed the point somewhat.

A) He wasn't in there for a free drink, he said that himself B) Of course he should be treated differently to you! Unless you are Mick Channon and I have didn't realise, in which case I apologise.

See this is the problem. I really truly respected your views and what you had to say. I use to go on the view all posts button for you, franks cousin, weston, saintlee and even Keith back in the day. Its very sad that you have changed so drastically in the last six months (I mean look at the sarcasm in that reply!) Your arguments used to be very sound And I found myself nodding in agreement. As soon as Lowe came back you took every opportunity to have a pop both at Lowe and the people willing to give him a chance. You have sneered and looked down on people. At one point in about November it looked like this experiment may be working but all you did was say how deluded people were for believing in it and giving abuse to people that were willing to see how it panned out. The experiment has not worked but I can't see any pleasure in adopting your attitude from the outset. Now all you do is post derogatory remarks about other posters and moan about Lowe (not saying I disagree with a lot of those.) It's very sad and I imagine I'm not the only one who has begun to skip over a lot of what you have to say. The forum as a whole is a lot worse off for it.

This forum is nowhere near as big as it used to be. It isn't even as busy as it was 18 months ago.
-
And you are just as bad. In the past six months the standard of your posts have got ten times worse. They are horribly biased and often aggressive and sneering at others who don't believe the same things as you. I thought you were better than that.

Seriously can you stop baiting people and just debate things in a sensible manner? It is clear that some people have stopped posting here because they are sick of the same stuff. I would argue that a big reason for this is because of the position saints are in. I'm starting to get sick of the same old problems and nothing being fixed. If lowe goes and we appoint someone like Aidy then I would expect a ot more activity on here (the 5 pound thing has also reduced activity.)

Thank you I appreciate that. You just need to make sure you don't make sweeping generalisations about "this board." This board contains hundreds of posters. If you read it regularly you will find many fine and articulate posters. You will also find people who say things on here "string him up etc etc" who would never dream of doing such a thing in real life. I come on here to discuss views but also to read the more considered posts and generally filter out the reactionary claptrap.

So why make a sarcastic comment about me going to punch another fan? WTF have I done to deserve a comment like that? Why make a comment to Michelle like "sorry love ignore these fools they will just try and punch you." As far as I can see the violence was about 50 people at the most in the Northam and one incident in the Itchen. It is being talked about so much because it is the first time this has happened in years. It shouldn't happen but the reason it is is because Lowe returned and we are doing badly again. Lowe is the reason that this is happening and regardless of what anyone believes about Rupert, plainly this club will never ever be united again unless we start doing much better on the pitch or Rupert goes. Evenif we just manage to stay up this season, can you see fans being united over the summer? This won't stop until Rupert goes or we are promoted. I know which one is more likely.

ANd you have to ask yourself, was Dave there purely for the benefit of himself? I very much doubt it.
-
I am sorry WS. I always look out for your posts and respect your views but I have to strongly disagree with you here. Many people pay their money for corporate and one of the main reasons is to see ex players like Armstrong and maybe to have chat with their boyhood heroes. If someone had used just an ounce of common sense then they would see the clear benefits of Armstrong being there. Apparently two of the tables were guests that he had invited so I just can't imagine why the club would not be as welcoming as possible so such a great servant of this club. Its not how the mindsight of the club should work, it's just wrong.

He said on the radio that he asked if he was being thrown out. The steward said no I am no throwing you out I am asking you to leave to which he replied well what would you do if I refused? At no point did he change his story to say he was thrown out, he said he believed that being thrown out and asked to leave amounted to the same thing.

The funniest thing is I actually had time for you sadoldgit when you presented your views in a constructive and thoughtful manner. When you just dismiss others in the manner you just have it destroys any argument you may have had and perhaps shows your true colours.
-
And if you read my other posts you would realised that I have not condoned the violence in any way. But then I am beneath your attention because I am just a simpleton on here when compared to your vast intellect. At least I listen and accept the views on others on here. Not the extremeists like saintrobbie or Stanley (no offence meant guys) but the more balanced views of Weston saint, Franks Cousin, stevegrant etc etc. WHy tar everyone with the same brush? You're as bad as the bloke calling everyone a Lowe luvvie you really are.
-
Oh do shutup with your pompous attitude. You are not better than anyone else. What a patronising little man you are.

David Armstrong called for a boycott by the fans last night
hypochondriac replied to derry's topic in The Saints
I hear you spoke to Cowan after the game? I would be interested to hear your thoughts. -
Saga has a 50% goals to game ratio

The chants started in the 70th minute. In between the anti Lowe chants there was also a few chants for Southampton amongst others. The fans support for the team has been fantastic all season despite the crap we have had to endure on the pitch and I quite understand the reasons for them. The violence is never the answer but then it would never have happened if Lowe wasn't here. If Pearson was still here then at least the fans would all be behind the management and fully supportive.

David Armstrong called for a boycott by the fans last night

People talk about it on here but it will never ever happen until someone does something. I would certainly be up for a boycott but I don't think we would pull it off. -
The funniest thing for me was one point in the first half when Donny broke in the first half and we had every attacking player on the pitch in their penalty area. We had no midfield at all and just the four defenders and the keeper to cover the rest of the pitch! It was very funny.

If the club had any sense they would allow ex players (especially ones like Dave) into the hospitality. Could you imagine if it was someone like MLT who was asked to leave because he didn't pay! The principal is certainly the same. I cannot see any way that Dave's presence could be seen as a negative thing (unless he said something he shouldn't have whichis a different matter.) Anyway on the radio Dave said if he was "asked to do any hospitality stuff" in the future he would decline so that makes me think that he was asked by someone.
