Because we're not as good as the blinkered, daydreamers on this forum would have you believe.

Are we bad at January Transfers?
Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd replied to georgeweahscousin's topic in The Saints
Personally I think we're pretty poor at transfers, full stop! -
Always had my concerns when we signed him. I remember saying we'd be lucky to get 1/2 a season out of him. When he picked up an injury I thought we'd be lucky to see him again, fortunately I was proved wrong. However, if this is true then it doesn't inspire confidence. :-/

Exactly. He looks a good player but he's hardly set the world on fire so far. I'd rather have seen the £12m we spent on him used to buy 2 or 3 players. Particularly defenders!

Liverpool will score at least 4 tomorrow. :-(

The Result Tonight v Norwich-How Do You Look At It...!?!

2 more points dropped. Won't get anything other than a drubbing at Liverpool. I can see them getting at least 4. -

Got to laugh. There's loads of people on here who say that the current home shirt is amongst the worst. Yet the club are still trying to tell us that it's one of the most popular. ********!
-
Worst has to be this season's kit. It looks like a Liverpool shirt and has no tradition with the club. The sooner we get back to wearing red & white stripes and black shorts the better. Best kit has to be the Keegan era Rank Xerox home shirt. I always liked the Hummel shirt that we shared with Denmark too.

Pardew's likely reception next week?
Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd replied to Fitzhugh Fella's topic in The Saints
Pardew deserves no abuse at all. To say, 'no praise' is a bit harsh. He gave us a great day out at Wembley and our first trophy for over 30 years! -
A mate played golf with Mike Dean last week. He asked him if he knew what was going to happen to Clattenberg and Dean said, 'Nothing, the FA are going to throw the book at Chelsea'. lol

Another shining example of what a joke football has become. Chelsea are 3rd in the league and only 4 points behind the leaders. The same leaders who are also on the brink of elimination from the Champions League. It was always going to be a big ask for them to repeat the success of last season but let's be honest, Di Matteo has worked wonders there when you look at how the team were performing before he was given the managers job. Laughable, absolutely laughable!

Craig David: My Team - The Saints (The Sun Newspaper)
Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd replied to JerryH's topic in The Saints
He's so full of ****. I heard him tell Jamie Theakston that he was a Chelsea fan. -
Personally I think that Jack Cork has been the missing link for us this season.
-
Just read that we're lining up Di Canio or Vialli if NA goes (which I think he will). No thanks. Whilst I think Nigel is totally out of his depth I would want either of them in charge. Out of the frying pan and into the fire!!!
-
If we go down with him in charge I have a feeling that he won't bring us back up. I can see us struggling to make the playoffs in the championship.
-
Couldn't agree more. All of last season I was saying that we weren't good enough to go up. Looking back we obviously were, the league doesn't lie. However, upon reflection I think what I was getting at was that if we did go up we wouldn't be good enough to stay up. You could see that there was a huge gulf between us and a Premiership team. I can't believe Nigel still has a job. How many managers keep their job after a string of results and stats like we've had?
-
And all you do is use poor punctuation, spelling and grammar. I actually think he's one of the few people on here who tells it like it is. People need to be a bit more realistic about our club. The Poll results tell an interesting story. Nearly 60% of Saints fans are clearly deluded!

I bet against Saints every week. I had Bale to score against us last week at 13/2. It's easy money.

Is a defensive coach the answer?
Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd replied to Steeleye Saint's topic in The Saints
If we've got one he needs sacking! We urgently need someone. I'd be on the phone to the likes of Keown or Dixon. -
Last season I was convinced that we weren't good enough to go up. I'm prepared to admit that I was wrong. However, upon reflection I think I was looking at it from the point of view that if we did go up we were in no shape to stay up without some serious investment in certain areas like the defence. We've failed to address those areas and Nigel has shown that he's tactically naive. A passing game may have worked against teams in the Championship but we're being found out at this level because there's so many teams that play that game far better than we do. I'd have rather stayed in the Championship for 3 seasons and built a better, stronger squad with more versatility.

With Adkins in charge. Absolutely not! 4 points from a possible 27 suggests we don't stand a cat in hells chance.

Amazing. Last week I was lashed on here for suggesting that AL leaves Fox far too exposed. As far as Ramirez is concerned, I have a funny feeling we won't be seeing much of him this season. As soon as we spent all that money I thought, We'll be lucky to get a third of a season out of him. Don't ask me why, I've just got a feeling that he won't want to play for us whilst we're looking so awful and he'll end up being released for a fraction of the price we paid for him.
