As it stands, do we have a better midfield than Utd?
Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
We're not a million miles away from Utd in the midfield dept. Sadly we're a long way off having anything that can rival their defence or the firepower they have up front. :-/ -
Let him go. I still don't understand why Saints ever signed him. I'd rather see Sharp given a chance in the Prem.

Will this current squad propel us into Europe?
Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd replied to Barry Sanchez's topic in The Saints
Absolutely no chance. Saints are a very long way off European football. -
Exactly. It's never their fault. I hate Liverpool because they got the rules of the Champions league changed so that they could still compete in it. They didn't qualify through the normal channels because they were **** but cried like babies until the rules were changed to allow the current holders a place in the following seasons competition.

I still don't understand why we're not in the race for Bent. I'd have thought he could do a job for us and for reasonable money. One thing's for sure. We desperately need to strengthen up front.

£15m is a joke. A couple of clubs have shown an interest and offered about £6m but they've been told to come back with offers above £8m to trigger the release clause in his contract. Would £15m not be better spent trying to land Lukaku from Chelsea?

Saints near the bottom for players signed, any cause to panic?
Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd replied to Mr X's topic in The Saints
I don't think we'll be relegated simply because there's definitely 3 worse teams than Saints in the league. However, I don't see us finishing in the top 10 and I'll be surprised if we finish above where we did last season. Our defence still concerns me as does our lack of firepower. I don't understand why we've not made a move for a proven goalscorer like Bent. He's available for sensible money and will always score goals. -
Daniel Osvaldo - Signs 4 Year Deal

I see Roma have just announced that he's staying. -
New Home Shirt - do you like it?
Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd replied to stevegrant's topic in The Saints
I still don't understand why NC didn't just give us a striped shirt. He keeps bleating on about creating a positive vibe in all sections of the club so why not give the fans what they want... Or does he not regard the fans as an important part of the club? Would it really have been too much to ask? -
What odds or how can I get them, that Saints
Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd replied to chocco boxo's topic in The Saints
Personally I can't see Saint being top 10 at the end of Sept. -
So Saints had a £5m bid rejected but a Championship club managed my Harry Redknapp have their offer accepted. Clearly something dodgy has gone on. How does he keep getting away with it?

PRE-SEASON: Palamós CF vs Southampton
Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
The last time I saw Saints score 8 was in a pre-season friendly in Sweden back in 2004. They went on the get relegated that season. -
You can buy it now for about £13.00 if you want it without the Saints badge and sponsors logo. It's identical to the Adidas Campeon. Seriously, £37.00 for a badge and a logo... Having a laugh.

Victor Wanyama - Officially Signed
Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd replied to patred44's topic in The Saints
Said it before and I'll say it again. I sense trouble with Wanyama. Surely he's not the only target? -
It's just like 1991 all over again...
Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd replied to georgeweahscousin's topic in The Saints
Dowie/Hurlock. Wanyama/Damiao. There's a pattern developing. ;-) -
Currently watching Forest v Saints 26.03.83. Saints went 1-0 down but came back to win 2-1 with a wonder strike from Danny Wallace. A result that lifted them to 5th in the table. :-)

CD ripping / multi room music systems
Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd replied to John D's topic in Technology Chat
My advice would be to rip them to a higher quality than mp3. If you rip straight to mp3 all the quality has gone and there's no getting it back. However, if you rip to a lossless format like FLAC then you've got a high quality format on your hard drive that you can the create a mp3 from easily. Sonos is the best value for money system on the market. Reliable, well supported by their superb online technical dept and has music streaming services such as Spotify natively built in. The streaming systems from the likes of Linn, Naim and Cyrus are far superior but not cheap. To be honest, it's not worth buying anything above Sonos if you only intend on streaming mp3. -

Just typed Kenyan into Google translate. The result said 'Trouble'. -
New Home Shirt - do you like it?
Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd replied to stevegrant's topic in The Saints
Note to anyone who is thinking of buying the vastly cheaper Adidas Tiro. It's a very different shade of red compared to the new home shirt. The Adidas Campeon in black looks identical to the new away kit so no problems there. -
Where did you get the shirt for £11.50? A mate got his Tiro in red today. A note to anybody who is considering doing the same... It's a VERY different shade of red compared to our home shirt. The black Adidas Campeon looks to be identical to the away shirt pictures on the saints website. Guess we'll have to wait for the physical product to confirm this though.
-
Same here. I refuse to pay £50 for a shirt when an identical product is available for less than £20. The gold badges & sponsorship look **** so I don't want them anyway. Congratulations, Saints. A masterstroke in how to **** off your fans. First you deliver a shirt that the majority of fans were opposed to and secondly it's a kit design that's available for a 1/3 of the price that the club charge. What a bunch of ****s! I bet the club shop are still trying to charge full price for last seasons shirts too. More ****ing premiership bull****. It's all about money and it's ruined football.

New Home Shirt - do you like it?
Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd replied to stevegrant's topic in The Saints
I'll be buying the Adidas Tiro & Campeon versions. You can get both delivered for a total of £40.00. Why pay a further £60 for that tacky gold club crest & sponsorship? -
New Home Shirt - do you like it?
Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd replied to stevegrant's topic in The Saints
As if last seasons kits weren't bad enough they now serve up another abortion which looks like a Liverpool shirt. The Gold badges & sponsorship look cheap & tacky. The shirt is nothing more than a stock training top from the Adidas catalogue. The Poll results say it all. The club has completely ignored the opinion of those that matter most... The fans! Disgraceful.
