  1. I bet he scores no more than 12 goals this season.
  2. Sunderland are in for Kalou. Now that's the sort of player we need. He could definitely do a job for us.
  3. In the same boat as us then!
  4. West Ham and Hull have both made decent signings. Campbell to Palace for £800k could be the bargain of the season. Pelle & Long for a combined £20m just makes me cringe.
  5. Whilst we continue with this 4-3-3 nonsense I don't see things improving. It may help us defensively but it leaves us too lightweight up front and going forward with huge gaps all over the place. Fine if you've got pacey players who can get into those spaces but we haven't. We need two up front.
  6. I look forward to being proved wrong but Pelle was always a bit of a gamble. Scoring a hatful of goals in the Dutch league is a completely different story to playing in the Premiership. So far he just looks like a squad player at best. Someone to come off the bench or play in the early stages of the league cup against lower opposition. Crazy thing is that we had someone like that in Billy Sharp. Pelle looks like he's a Championship striker at best. As for Long, well, I've made my feelings very clear on here. Not what we need and certainly not for £12m. That said, maybe Koeman should give him a chance up top and stick Pelle on the bench for the next game? I'd love him to start banging them in for us but he isn't going to do that unless he's given a decent run in the side. We've still got a long way to go and a hell of a lot of work to do. A winger is a priority and then somebody who can put the ball in the net. A poacher.
  7. Based on that performance, 17th would be a major achievment.
  8. I'm convinced that Billy Sharp would have done a better job than Pelle but that's not an option any more. Not sure about the formation at all. Message to the baord... How is this considered to be the progress that you've bleated on about?
  9. I'd like to see him show some of the form that's got him an international call up. All I've seen is a player who doesn't look anything special at all.
  10. Would've been a much better buy than Long but as other have said, it's too late now. The other thing to consider is whether he'd be willing come to us? I'm sure there's plenty of other clubs that he'd rather go to and that will be prepared to pay silly wages. Being realistic, Long is about as good as we can hope for. It's just a shame that we spent so much on someone who runs around a lot but doesn't seem to be too good at putting the ball on the net.
  11. I can see a last minute deal being struck with Townsend coming to us and Morgan going the other way. If Morgan is going to Spurs (and I think he will) then there's other players I'd rather take from Spurs before Townsend.
  12. YNWA = You're Now **** Agger
  13. Chop his hand off and it'll stand for You'll Never **** Again
  14. Absolute quality??? Average at best from what I saw. The one thing that most of the pundits were saying after Arsenal's game was that they looked defensively poor and Chambers was caught out far too many times.
  15. I'd have thought that wages would be the stumbling block with Agger. I'm still confused as to why Martin Kelly didn't come as part of the deal for Lovren. We wanted him but he turned us down and then went to Cripple Paralysis.
  16. He's a cheeky ****. He didn't have a club when we signed him. Saints offered him a lifeline. Man up and get on with the job. Social media really isn't helping the modern game is it???
  17. Just reading some of the musicians predictions for the season ahead on the Sky Sports website. Embrace, Passenger, James, Lower Than Atlantis, Fryars and Public Service Broadcasting all predicting that Southampton will be relegated. :-/
  18. Only 3-0. I reckon it'll be at least 4, maybe 5 or 6. lol
  19. Exactly, and that's something he doesn't do particularly well. Remy was going to Liverpool for £8.5m and we've paid £12m for Long. It makes no sense at all. Not impressed but always willing to be proved wrong.
  20. Hilarious. At least I have an opinion and contribute with responses that aren't simply insults. Just because you don't agree with something that's said it doesn't mean you have to start throwing insults. The purpose of a forum is for discussion.
  21. I think you'll find that the likes of Lambert, Sharp & J-Rod had no real top flight experience. Rickie & J-Rod are prime examples that players can make the step up and not cost a fortune.
  22. Hmmm, not bad but I'm sure you can do better? ;-)
  23. Didn't take long did it. Why use the forum to discuss things and make a valid contribution when you can simply reply with statements like that. Brilliant.
  24. Full of ****e for speaking my mind. Do you believe this is good business or have you been brainwashed by the morons ruining our club. Please enlighten me how a players value rises by 60% in 8 months with only 15 appearances and 4 goals to his name? It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that this is an appalling bit of business. I've not spoken to a single person who thinks it's a good deal. A Friend who supports Hull was on the phone ****ing himself laughing. Does that not say something? Ulloa, Ings, Rhodes, Vokes, Deeney. Every one of them could do a job for us and for less money. Yes, they may be a bit of a gamble but isn't that what Long is? His track record suggests so. Even McCormack would've been a better way of spending £12m. I look forward to a load of abuse. If there's one thing this forum is good for it's personal insults and abuse for having an opinion that doesn't fit with the 'in crowd'.
