  1. Agreed. We seem to be the masters of leaving things late. If we're getting rid of Puel then his replacement needs to be in within days so that we can be identifying potential transfer targets etc.
  2. Watch us lose to Man Ure and only muster a draw against Stoke, whilst WBA & Bournemouth both win their last game.
  3. Jokanovic. Seriously, do some reading about him and how he and his backroom staff manage. Watch the way he's got Fulham playing. He'd be ideal for us.
  4. Took the words right out of my mouth. Jokanovic would be the perfect fit for us.
  5. I'm no Puel fan but I think I'd rather stick with him over Silva. Clearly we're never going to go for a big name if Puel should get the boot so the only man for the job has to be Jokanovic.
  6. I can't believe some of the things people are saying about J-Rod. He's a striker and we all know that strikers grow with confidence. How can you expect him to improve and get back to where he was when the manager rarely plays him. Bringing him off the bench with 5 mins to go is utterly pointless. 2 goals against Bournemouth and dropped for the next game has to be one of the worst bits of management I've seen from Puel this season. J-Rod will go. He'll find a club who are willing to give him a decent run and I believe he'll find form again. I'm fairly confident he'll come back to haunt us.
  7. Exactly. I still prefer to see him starting ahead of Redmond. He works harder and given a run in the side I think he'd have delivered more goals as his confidence grew. Puel's done nothing for his confidence but you can't knock him because he still gives 100%.
  8. Looks good to me. I'd maybe go with JWP ahead of Davis. As I've said elsewhere. I'd rather see J-Rod and Long playing for us than Tadic & Boufal. They've got more passion and grit. Tadic & Boufal are typical of that type of player - 1 good game in 6 or 7. At least Long J-Rod give 100% every time they pull on the shirt.
  9. The one thing you can't criticise Long for is his effort. I think he's been badly treated by Puel. He'd be one of the first names on the team sheet for me. I'd rather lose Tadic & Boufal than Long and J-Rod.
  10. Whose fault is that? The buck stops at Puel. He's persisted with certain players when they've not been in the best of form (Tadic, Redmond, Boufal) and left out others who clearly still have something to offer (Long, J-Rod). It's just a shame that he decided to try something different when the season is all but over.
  11. We'd be mad to let J-Rod go. He's still got something to offer. As I've said all season, I'd much rather have him and Long in the starting 11 than Redmond and Tadic.
  12. Jeez. My prediction wasn't far off. :-)
  13. Jokanovic. Just look at the way he's got Fulham playing. Reminds me of the way we played under Poch. Highest scorers in the Championship. Highest average possession. They play the ball out from the back with defenders who can pass the ball. He's done a great job with the young players. Perfect fit for us.
  14. I'd love to see us make a move for Jokanovic if Fulham don't come up. He'd be a decent fit for us. Knows how to develop young players. Seems to have a good balance of youth and experience. Fulham are the highest scoring team in the Championship and have the highest average possession. His teams pass the ball well and play at a high tempo. His sports science methods fit perfectly with what Saints have been doing for years. He's much more like Poch than Puel.
  15. I'd go for Forster Pied Yoshida Caceres Bertrand Rom Classie Long JWP J-Rod Gabbi
  16. Totally agree. Sadly, faith and inspiration are the two things that our current management team seem to be good at destroying. J-Rod scored 2 goal at Bournemouth and was dropped for the next game. Clasie had a great game at WBA and likewise was dropped the next week. I'd love to know how Puel's mind works. On second thoughts, maybe not.
  17. We'll lose 2-0. That said, with the season all but over, I'd like to see Clasie and Caceres start. I'd also like to see Long and J-Rod playing on the right and left instead of Redmond and Tadic. Why not? They've hardly been given any game time to prove themselves and neither Redmond or Tadic seem to have any end product.
  18. Before the Arsenal game, the woman in the club shop told me that the away kit is definitely yellow. She also said that the white kit is staying as a 3rd kit but couldn't say whether it was going to be made available to the public. She said 'they should do given the number of calls we had about it'.
  19. He said the worst career decision he ever made was accepting the Greece national job and not taking the Southampton job when it was offered to him in 2014.
  20. £25m! I reckon we'd be lucky to see £10m for the pair. We won't get more than a couple of million for J-Rod. I'd like to see him stay. I think a new manager who played to his strengths could still get more out of him. Sadly you know he'll go somewhere else and hit form.
  21. Not a disaster but not good when you look at the following.... Where we'll finish this year compared to last. 11 goal in the last 12 games. Lowest points tally since our return to the Prem. Never wanted Puel. You only have to listen to his interviews to see that he's one of the most uninspiring managers in the game. Imagine being in a team listening to that every day. I can honestly say I dislike him more than any other manager we've had. And that list includes some pretty awful managers, including the likes of, Redknapp, Branfoot, Wotte, Poortvliet, Gray, Sturrock & Wigley!
  22. Same story every week, just like his boring tactics.
  23. Will Puel fit in one of his bags?
  24. Time to bump this thread. It's slipped far too far down the page for my liking. Another clueless performance in which Puel has shown that he's tactically inept. Poor substitutions. **** football. 11 goals in the last 12 games. Possibly our lowest points tally since we returned to the Premiership. **** off now!!! If he's here next season we'll struggle to stay up. This is the worst football I've seen us play for years.
