  2. We had a perfectly good striker who we've sold to a rival team. :-/
  3. Hardly surprising when you look at how Puel treated him.
  4. Big mistake. Claude's poor man management clearly demotivated the lad. The club should've done more to support him and given him some time under the new manager. I guarantee he'll be back to haunt us. I can't help but feel this is a poor decision. Maybe I just don't like seeing our players go to similar clubs who are direct competition.
  5. Exactly. The whole thing looks like a sideways step. There was clearly never a replacement lined up prior to Puel's dismissal. This has been handled in the same way as the Fonte saga, with Caceres coming in at the last minute. Further evidence that Les Reed hasn't got a ****ing clue what he's doing. I didn't like Puel but was happy to be proved wrong. Sadly, he did nothing that made me change my mind about him. However, I have even less respect for Les Reed and his constant gambling. The problem with gambling is that you win some and you lose some.
  6. The stats from his last season at Alaves seem to indicate that we've swapped one manager who couldn't get a team to score goals for another manager whose main problem was scoring goals.
  7. It's De Boer to Palace.
  8. Totally agree. However, be careful what you wish for. Les's tinkering may cost us!
  9. I remember meeting him after the Elfsborg pre-season friendly, not long after he joined us. One of the lads we were with asked him if it was true that he had a PFC tattoo. Crouch replied, 'Yeah, it stands for Peter ****ing Crouch'. :-) Villa were also on tour in Sweden that summer. We met some of their fans in the hotel in Gothenburg and every one of them said that Crouchie would do a great job for us. One said 'He's the complete opposite of what you'd expect. He's got a head like a 50p but he's great with the ball at his feet'.
  10. Just read this... Scoring goals was what Alaves found most difficult last season, netting just 41 times. Only three teams in La Liga scored fewer and two of those sides – Granada and Osasuna - were relegated. But the considerable flip side was that they only let in 43 – only three sides conceded fewer, the champions Madrid let in 41. Scoring goals was our biggest problem last season too and is probably the main reason why Puel's gone. Why would we want to replace Puel with somebody whose record doesn't appear to be much better? Makes no sense at all.
  11. It'll be Ryan ****ing Giggs and once again we'll be a laughing stock.
  12. Is that woman giving him a hand job?
  13. I hope so. I think he's a superb manager.
  14. Tuchel or Jokanovic. It'll probably be De Boer. :-/
  15. Big mistake. He'll be back to haunt us.
  16. I expect a 'Contract terminated by mutual consent' statement.
  17. He'll go to Newcastle
  18. The Mirror are reporting that LVG is coming to Saints. It's a very weak story that could have been written about any club that may be looking for a change of management.
  19. He definitely wouldn't be.
  20. WTF. You must be really bored. He probably doesn't even know who Pompey are, let alone hate them.
  21. My only complaint is the thin black stripes between the Red and White sections. A single black stripe or nothing would have been far better.
  22. Clearly the staff member I spoke to in the club shop is a liar. She said the away kit was yellow and navy blue. I guess they get hundreds of phone calls about the new kit so just say stuff to wind people up. They're probably sat in the shop as we speak discussing who's getting a prize for giving out the most misleading information.
  23. Yes, you did give me your explanation before, thank you. However, your response is flawed as manufacturing and distributing a huge number of kits in four to five weeks is easily achievable in this day and age, especially for a company the size of UA. A bespoke shirt can be designed and produced in less than 2 weeks by numerous manufacturers. The big boys such as Adidas and Nike, can manufacture up to 1500 shirts in day. It was a missed opportunity, which is a surprise given how money orientated Football clubs are these days.
  24. She also said, "given the number of calls we've received about it, the club would be mad not to sell it". I still don't understand the mentality behind not making it available for the cup final. Most clubs issue a shirt with the date & event embroidered on the front. We did it for the FA Cup final in 2003 and the shirts sold out. The fact that the UA and the club didn't give the fans what they wanted says a lot.
