  1. We are fucking shite.
  2. So at what point do people consider a score to be a thrashing? Is 4-0 a thrashing or just a bad day at he office?
  3. Pre Premier League, from 1970. 70/71 5-1 v Man Utd. 71/72 8-0 v Everton. 7-0 v Leeds Utd. 72/73 4-0 v Derby Co. 73/74 7-0 v Ipswich. 6-2 v Derby Co. 74/75 4-0 v Millwall 75/76 4-1 v Charlton Ath. 76/77 6-2 v Charlton Ath. 77/78 3-0 v Millwall 78/79 4-0 v Leeds Utd & Coventry City. 79/80 4-0 v WBA 80/81 7-1 v Watford. 81/82 5-2 v Ipswich. 82/83 6-0 v Spurs. 83/84 4-0 v QPR. 84/85 5-1 v Spurs. 85/86 7-0 v Luton Town. 86/87 5-1 v Man Utd. 87/88 4-0 v Everton. 88/89 6-1 v Luton Town. 89/90 3-0 v Everton & Liverpool. 90/91 6-2 v Derby Co. 91/92 5-1 v Arsenal. Saints conceded 4 or more goals in a game in 20 out of 22 seasons. 5 or more in 13 seasons. 6 or more in 8 seasons. 7 or more in 4 seasons. 8 or more in 1 season. Between the 70/71 season and the 91/92 season, there was only 2 seasons where they didn't concede more than 3 goals in a game.
  4. Since the Premier League Began, here's the games we conceded the most goals in, by season... 92/93 5-2 v Sheff Wed. Arsenal, Spurs and Oldham all put 4 past us that season. 93/94 4-0 v Arsenal. 94/95 5-1 v Newcastle Utd. 95/96 4-1 v Man Utd. 4-2 v Arsenal and 4-3 v Notts Forest. 96/97 7-1 v Everton. 97/98 4-0 v Derby. 4-2 v Chelsea and 4-3 v Barnsley. 98/99 7-1 v Liverpool. 5-0 v Charlton. 99/00 7-2 v Spurs. 5-0 v Newcastle Utd. 00/01 5-0 v Man Utd. 01/02 6-1 v Man Utd. 02/03 6-1 v Arsenal. 03/04 4-0 v Chelsea. 04/05 5-1 v Spurs. 12/13 6-1 v Arsenal. 13/14 4-1 v Man City. 14/15 3-0 v Man City. 15/16 3-0 v Everton. 16/17 4-1 v Spurs. 4-2 v Chelsea 17/18 5-2 v Spurs. 18/19 6-1 v Man City. 19/20 9-0 v Leicester. 20/21 9-0 v Man Utd... So far. 😉 Non Premier League 05/06 4-3 v Leeds Utd. 06/07 3-1 v Preston & Man City. 07/08 5-0 v Hull & Sheff Wed. 5-1 v Preston. 08/09 4-1 v QPR & Coventry. 09/10 4-1 v P*mpey. 10/11 3-0 v Swindon Town 11/12 3-0 v Brighton & Blackpool. Is 4-0 considered a thumping or just a shit result? At what point do people consider a result a thrashing??? In 29 seasons, Saints have conceded 4 or more goals in a game in 24 of those seasons. 5 or more goals in 15 of those seasons. 6 or more in 9 season. 7 or more in 5 seasons and 8 or more in 2. There have only been 5 seasons where they've not conceded more than 3 goals in a game.
  5. I was looking at the Koeman era and that seems to have been one of our better periods defensively. Just remembered that Man City stuck 6 past us in 2018. I honestly can't think of another team who've had as many annual hidings.
  6. Has anyone got a list of our biggest defeats by season? I've got a horrible feeling that our club may feature more than any other when it comes to biggest defeats of the season. A good thumping seems to be an annual event for Saints. A few that come to mind, 7-0 at Luton. 7-1 at Watford. A 5-0 and a couple of 6-1's against Arsenal. 7-1 and 6-1 against Liverpool. 7-1 at Everton. Spurs have often put 5 past us and I seem to recall them beating us 7-2.
  7. I heard that Maguire said 'Oh come on' to Dean when he gave the penalty.
  8. Nope. 😕
  9. In the unlikely event I were to win a grand it would at least soften the blow a little. I won over £700 last night. I had a feeling Utd would score at least 4, so that came in. I then put a bet on at half time for Utd to score more in the second half than they had in the first. All I'm doing is having a bet on a game of football. It doesn't change my support for the club. It's just a way of making a few quid and it's easy money given our current form.
  10. Exactly. The game has been ruined by money and VAR. I wish I could just forget about it and this bloody club that keeps me awake at night. It's just not that simple.
  11. Yes. The club is fucked. We are simply delaying the inevitable. The owner wants to sell the club so won't invest any more money. Who would buy a football club in the current climate? We borrowed £80m at a rate of about 10%. The interest on the loan is about £7m a year. That's a player! Arsenal & Spurs borrowed nearly twice that amount at a rate of 0.5%. The banks clearly see us as a massive risk. One report suggested that were expected the relegated in the next two years. Ralph has done his best under very difficult circumstances. He must know he's fighting a lost cause and that his best players will have to be sold in the summer. Let's be honest. There will be plenty of other clubs where he could walk into a job and not have to suffer all the behind the scenes shit that comes with Saints. Being brutally honest, we're simply delaying the inevitable. Relegation. We simply don't have the investment or the backing of someone who loves football - If such a thing exists anymore? Even if we hadn't had this bad run of Injuries and results and we were sitting in the top 6, we'd still be in a position where our manager will attract attention and move on, likewise with our best players. There won't be a Markus to save us this time. He must be turning in his grave at the way things have turned out.
  12. I know, but £5.00 would give a return of a grand. 😉
  13. Get a few quid on us being relegated. When it comes to being shit, Saints seem love setting records. Has any other team topped the Prem and been relegated the same season?
  14. Fraser in goal for a start. Would you not give Minamino a go from the beginning?
  15. You just knew this was going to happen the minute they allowed 2 fullbacks to leave on loan - A crazy decision. Even if one of them had stayed it would have allowed us to move Bertrand into the middle. As things stand we're fucked.
  16. This doesn't feel the same. I know that's no real reason, it's just a gut feeling. Last time we had a full squad to help us bounce back. This time he's going to be asking a bunch of kids to perform a miracle.
  17. He shouldn't, but I wouldn't be surprised if he does. Deep down he must realise that he's fighting a lost cause. Minamino's probably on the phone asking if he can cancel his loan. 😂 I wonder what odds you can get on us being relegated? Even with 29 points it wouldn't surprise me.
  18. True, but what about suspensions? It amounts to the same thing. We're without more players in the middle of an injury crisis.
  19. Bednarek too. I had a sneaky feeling that he'd walk tonight. On a positive note I put £5 on Utd to score more goals in the second half at 9/1.
  20. What did I tell you. Jankewitz. What a cunt.
  21. I'm starting a book on who the next injury / suspension will be. We're bound to lose another player or two at OT tonight.
  22. We do have a small squad and we do lack options in some areas, whereas other areas are well covered with average players. If only the likes of Redmond and Djenepo could do a job at full back we'd be ok, but it's a shame that we have to play JWP as a full back when his talents lay firmly in the middle.
  23. So who gets dropped? Seems like his arrival will just provide a selection headache?
  24. We need cover at the back, FFS. Out of interest, where do people see Minamino fitting in to the team?
