A great post and I echo its sentiments. Having supported Saints since a nipper (remember the Bitterne Nomads playing down Cutbush Lane) I'll carry on supporting them long after RL et al are long gone (if I live that long ;-) )

Of course you have to take into consideration that the match was on TV so there would have been a significant number who would have missed the journey to watch from the comfort of their own home or at the pub, etc.

If memory serves, this was our 5th Carling Cup match at SMS and have yet to lose. UTS
