As ever the eternal optimist!! Saints struggle away as they have throughout my lifetime, cannot play on anything other than a green carpet and as the bulk of our games are against lower end clubs will farm yards for pitches, will no doubt struggle to raise their game. We have to win in all probability all the games and the clubs around the current play off places keep winning too. So.... no chance this year!!

As for the performance of our team, crap, and though someone may have already pointed this stat out, haven't had time to read most of the ****e on here, not only was the score nil. How many corners did Saints get last night???? NONE Pathetic. One solution?? We have a great pitch at SMS and the training pitches are good. Get them training on some cut up turf for a few weeks at this time of the year. It might just work!!

No not a chance in hell of making the top six. Take the rose tinted specs off, resign from the happy clappy club and look at the fayre on the pitch. It aint up to the standard required to get into the playoffs. As for beating Luton, yes we did but boy what a struggle it was!!

Dont really have rest?? Poor darlings. How long do they train a day? They have precious little else to do and they are professional footballers who are in their prime for god's sake. I too live in Beds. and fortunately some distance from Luton and what has to be one of the worst towns in the country. Cannot excuse what took place yesterday and have to say that ridiculous chant of "premier league and you ****ed it up" only to be be followed by "football league and you ****ed it up",though raising a smile, perhaps sums up the mental ability of those from Sth Beds!! Thank God we do not face a replay in that rat hole of a town and to be honest that is what we should be facing after a really poor performance against a conf side. Playoffs???? Not a hope!!

Well the happy clappies are out in force. A clean sheet yes, 3 points yes and keeps the run going. For god's sake though, the performance was far from deserving of the majority of glowing plaudits I have read on here. We were hanging on at the end and that defence is far from being solid and reliable. Bialkowski however looks ok when called on and how good to see a keeper bowling the ball out to feet rather than that boot up the middle for 5 mins of head tennis!! We are moving forward as a team but let's keep a sense of proportion - we aint as good as some now believe.... but we are moving ibn the right direction.

An interesting post this!! Though relating to a different subject,the stewards in the Kingsland North are currently having a go at standing fans led by that icon of fit men "Ian." You know the one if you stand anywhere near that area of the ground!! When asked a couple of games ago which section of the ground rules required us to all sit he hadn't a clue. Always told if you enforce a law make sure you know what it is!! Funnilly enough when asked why nothing is done about the Northam standing he says "that is not my area. If you wish to stand then go in that area" Very intereseting STAND point. To return to your point, he wont have a clue which section applies.

Hartlepool's ground is one of the bleakest in the leagues. The town has to be seen to be believed and a cold late November night up there will be something you will talk about forever. I went years ago and saw a game v N'pton town. The memory haunts me still and I only went as it was part of my drive to join the 92 club. I will be going that night as I need to see Saints on that ground. Will drive from Beds and reckon on 3 hrs or so each way A1/A19. Rail wise cant you go via Darlington and then a Teeside local? Indeed I beilieve there is a direct Sunderland service via Hartlepool from Kings X now. Wont run to fit in with our game though I doubt.

Utter rubbish you spout. Knowledge of football is totally irrelevant when you are making a point about someones inherent character. Laziak is disinterested and has no desire to play for us. He is merely concerned with collecting the Zlotys and feeding his grossly inflated ego. In order to make this point you need a modicum of knowledge about the greed culture, all too prevalent in football and the psyche that drives people (particularly overpaid, dim footballers) today. It has absolutely nothing to do with any knowledge of football.

-7 after three boring draws where we hang on for grim life. How on earth do some on here think any different? It takes a long time for any team to gel and footballers - well hardly the quickest learners are they? With Laziak up front we'll hardly be a threat - saw him at Bomo where he was an utter disgrace and unless we get some experienced strong men in like a Marsden or Howard(N'ton,Leicster, Derby) we will just be bullied out of most games playing kids. Don't delude yourselves. It will be another long hard season. Just check the bookies!!

Not sure if I should highlight this as everyone on here is meant to have signed up to the happy clappy brigade and be positive. Check back over the last three-four decades or so and compare Southampton FC 's successes and those of Hants CCC. Whenever the Saints do well Hants don't and vice versa. We're doomed it would seem!!

Over the 40+ years I have followed Saints I witnessed some crap. Yesterday was without doubt the worst. We now get what we deserve. We are the worst team in the league, the most badly managed and oddly enough one of the most unlucky too!! For some years I have questioned just what the hell the management team do in training. Yesterday not one of the three or four corners we got cleared the first man. This has been happenning for some years. Set pieces in the main are wasted, corners never defended. All matters that can and should be addressed on the training ground. The attitude of some out there yesterday stank. We know who they were and I trust that will be reflected next week. What we see are young ****y kids lauding it around the cities night clubs, beating up fans or thieving from those less well off than them. Those fans??? that chant the song about that scum BWP thieving from skates need to take a long hard look at themselves. By doing this what does a young thick footballer think?? Oh I am a hero,when in reality he is a moronic, thick, pig ignorant, ungifted, over paid football player. As I reflect on what happened yesterday and know deep down it has been coming for a while, I feel nothing but total alienation form the club I have supported since the mid 60's. It will be sometime before I and many more venture back.
