I can still see this being a close game, but I think we''ll just edge it. Our batting attack looked nervous today with some crazy shot selections. I can't see us being as bad in the second innnings. Our bowling options are so much better than theirs and that's what will see us through. A decent second innings score and then we'll bowl them out no problem on Saturday.

Saints players in lunchtime pub drinks shocker
Junction 9 replied to spyinthesky's topic in The Saints
I find it refreshing that our players can conduct themsleves in a decent manor when out and about. -
There is only one candiate for the role of Passion coach in my mind, and that's Tommmy Widdrington. Much cheaper than Pullis and more passionate to boot, no brainer.

Fewer Saints matches on TV next season

Always welcome in my house, I don't have Sky sports though. -
I like to while away the hours reading the "first fixture sweepstake" thread, which we have in some form another, EVERY YEAR.

Exactly right. That doesn't make for a good thread though.

Astori was mentioned as signing soon on Talksport this morning.

Saints: "2nd best fans in the Premier League"...
Junction 9 replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
I'm like you, really glad St Marys is a welcoming place. Hopefully the "Southamtpon way" will continue for many many years to come, and will eventually drive all the stone island, p*ssed up bellends away. They can find another sport to release a weeks worth of pent up aggression, and we won't have to witness it. Good on you Griffo! a really refreshing post. -
Why is this a sticky? It's a rumour like everything else on here.

Looking at tomorrow's weather forecast it seems a strange choice not to enforce the follow on. Declared too late as well.
-
Some great displays again today, Cook ticking along nicely. Declare at 250 and it should be job done.

You sign Whittingham, we sign Pochettino....
Junction 9 replied to Saint Mikey's topic in The Saints
Playing Norwich Is that what it's like to be Norwich, always boring yellow and green? You've got Delia, we've got Pochettino, Pochettino! Playing West Ham Is that what it's like to be West Ham, long balls and boring football? You've got Big Fat Sam, we've got Pochettino, Pochettino! Playing Sunderland Is that what it's like to be Sund'land, supporting the BNP? You've got a fascist boss, we've got Pochettino, Pochettino! That is like the post equivalent of the original Ted Bates statue, so bad it's hillarious. -
How did it affect the pitch invasion?

Broad can be wonderful at times. Not too worried about the bowling for the Ashes, the batting could be a concern against a decent attack. Still, a win's a win.

Once built the Saints Mega dome bowl should be named after her, or at least one of the stands.

So who would we want in if MP does go ?
Junction 9 replied to Saints boy in Leeds's topic in The Saints
If MP goes, surely that means Cortese will have gone too. If so, it won't be case of who we want but who we can get. Can't see there being too many top European managers that would want to come to a club where the trust that runs it doesn't want to commit that much. -
I have a 1 adult ticket for block 14 row HH going. £35. Cant pm on here so contact at dave.parsons74@gmail.com

MLT goal from 1/2 way line disallowed
Junction 9 replied to Saints boy in Leeds's topic in The Saints
I was on the Milton that day but don't remember the goal. I do remember one Saints fan on his own running on the pitch from the East terrace to confront the thousands of Villa fans on the pitch. It's the only time I recall an away fans pitch invasion. -
I voted J-Rod, surprised you didn't mention him.

Premier League games 'free' for BT Broadband customers
Junction 9 replied to trousers's topic in The Lounge
If you have a smart tv is there any way you can stream the footy via the BT app, but get it to play on the tv though the laptop? -
The Premier league exists to make money, it is a form of entertainment to watch on TV. When it comes to actually attending a game to watch live, the lower leagues were far more enjoyable IMO. I don't think the Premier league, or the clubs in it, care less about how good the atmophere is in thier grounds. Good or bad, the same amount of money is generated. As a footballing experience, a promotion push in the Championship, even an unsuccessful one, far outweighs a Premier league survival season.
