  1. He has of course got himself that reputation, however, he has also done a lot of good with Fulham, Newcastle and Manchester City. Personally I think the moral boost on its own would be massive, still it ain't gonna happen so we might as well close this thread before we all get carried away with the prospect; a bit like Paul Allen.
  2. As much as it grieves me to say this, you could well be right.
  3. So it's not Mr Macdonald then! On another note, as Pinnacle have until next Friday to conclude the transaction, I wonder if it will actually take until next Friday. With all the take over talk we have had, we have all joked many times that it will be on a Friday that all those potential deals will go through, perhaps we should have a sweepstake on this; personally I am going for Thursday next week, any other takers?
  4. YEAR ONE CONSOLIDATION YEAR TWO PROMOTION YEAR THREE CONSOLDATION YEAR FOUR PROMOTION YEAR FIVE STAYING IN THE PREMIERSHIP Unless any of you have any better ideas of course!
  5. My view is that if this all falls through at the last hurdle then I guess he or she will remain unknown, that way they will not recieve any nasty letters etc. Just a guess!
  6. Thanks Derry, I did not think I imagined it, lets hope it is true, however, suffice to say that Saints survival is the first order of the day.
  7. A lot of truth in that statement, however, did I read on here that MLT told someone that whoever is behind Pinnacle is "Obsenely rich", may be it was just B.S. who knows, but I would laugh if it was a comparable to the new Skate owner.
  8. Go very carefully with that, as Pinnacle represent the investor, so we do not know who he or she is yet. By the way only Americans spell ass that way, the correct spelling is Arse.
  9. I could not agree more, so one is supposed to pay this out to see the books, then if you decide the risk is too high you lose the 500K; that is not rich that is really taking the Pxxs.
  10. Yes, and in the meantime another Friday drifts by, I wonder if after all this the deal if it happens does get announced on Friday; perhaps we should have a poll on this, what day of the week will it be announced on?
  11. I have to agree wireframe, however, it also highlights how mental the premiership has become when it comes to money, who would have thought at the start of the premiership that a player is worth more than a whole club. INSANE.
  12. Thanks for the laugh Hypo, it reminded of the ship when the front fell off.
  13. Well I am going to stick my attachments on the chopping block now, I reckon we will have a deal before FRIDAY; no sauce, no evidence what so ever, just good old fashioned gut feeling; I think that their is just a few legal issues to sort out and the Pinnacle deal will be concluded, I just pray I am right for all of us.
  14. To be fair though these things always are, listening to Tony Lymon though it does appear that everything that can be done is in fact being done. For example on the telephone to Mark Fry at midnight the night before say's a lot in many respects, so I for one do not believe it is dead, the other thing mentioned was how the cash flow prediction had scared some potential bidders off. That also tells me that Mark Fry has got his ducks in a row with realistic numbers, lets face it, the gate reciepts are going to be lower than last season with us now being in league one. So it does appear that he has probably built that in, as most of you are aware purchasing the club is probably the easy bit; financing it back to the premiership will be an awful lot of money. Then of course staying their is another huge financial cost as well, so for me at least things are being doen in a very professional manner, as frustrating as it all is for fans at the moment, all we can do is wait and pray for the right result; as the other options if no buyer is found I really do not want to think about.
  15. I have to agree Fitzhugh, further to this with a little under two hours to go on the extended dead line; what is your take on the current situation? You do come through with good posts that make sense, so your view I think is valued by most on here.
  16. That counts them out then, they must be looking for Lowe.
  17. Now that did make me laugh LOL
  18. Spot on Fitzhugh, I was interested to read though that a foreign investor has entered the fray; I wonder who that may be? Still another week gone and no real news as to who will eventually win through, I guess we will all have to wait for another Friday; have a good weekend all.
  19. Well Barclays should cut their losses, if they wound the whole thing up they would struggle to get what is on offer.
  20. I am getting past the stage of caring now, as long as it is a good deal that is put together; and as long as they are not called Rupert, Alginon, Riafe or some other poncy name
  21. I guess it is, They do say that no news is good news, however, as far as Saints are concerned I am begining to wonder.
  22. Ain't that the Fxxxing truth!
  23. I am begining to hate Fridays, they have been disapointing for two years now. On another note I see Stockport County have just annouced that they too have gone into Admin, then of course they have to suffer the compulsory kick in the nuts by the FL with a ten point reduction for next season. When are these idiots in the FL and FA going to realise that football is in a crisis, they just seem to think that this bubble will never burst. Time to wake up you jerks, as bursting point is nigh.
