  1. I would have to agree, Frank Worthington was playing for us I am sure, Steve Williams? or had he gone to Arsenal?
  2. Just got back from the game, frankly I think Sharp looks like he needs to lose 10-12 pounds and he does not look as fit as the other players, in contrast Lee was running around the field like a ball in a pin ball machine, very quick and a world class goal.
  3. Does Southampton have a sushi restaurant? That would make him feel at home, just don't eat the blow fish.
  4. That High! I was thinking around and average male shoe size.
  5. Just because you missed that ball, did you have to grab mine!
  6. Is it pronounced GULLY or GOOLEY, from this side of the pond I have not heard his name spoken, however, that will be rectified on Monday when I return to good old Blighty.
  7. Agreed, and if memory serves me correctly, did he not make some excellent penalty saves against Norwich in the paint pot semi-final; more game time and he will only get better.
  8. All cox are the same
  9. I have just re-sent the e-mail, it did not bounce back so please check junk mail.
  10. Thanks, I have sent you an e-mail.
  11. Thanks, that would be great, however, right now I am preparing to move back to the UK from the USA, can you P.M. me with an e-mail address so as to contact you on my return? Just tell him it is Martyn from West End Primary and Wildern secondary and spent the most of our school time in the same class, following that we hung out at the rank and for a short time he did date my younger cousin who he met at my first wedding, he also got me home one night whilst totally wasted, he got me to the back door, saw my old man, dropped me and legged it.
  12. I have now seen Terry for years, I have tried to track him dowm a few times but know joy; you mentioned West End Juniors, on one occassion I was picked to play for the school taking his place in the team, I of course was chuffed to bits, only to learn that I only got in because Terry was playing for Soton boys, many years later when we used to hang out at the Top Rank, I always remember Steve Mills telling me that in his opinion, Terry was the best player in the then youth side and could not understand why Ted Bates would not sign him pro.
  13. Spot on 70's Mike, yes it was, do you hail from their as well?
  14. I remember him, he played with an old mate of mine (Terry Rawlings) for Saints youth along with Steve Mills, we would meet up most weeks at the Top Rank if they were not playing away. Suffice to say he would not remember me.

Thanks for that update simo, as some of you know his dad is a good friend of mine, delighted to hear he is doing so well, if I pick up any additions to this I will let you know.
  16. I must admit myself that I was alarmed when Pardew went, and again when N.A. was appointed, however, given the choice knowing what I know now, I would give N.A. the nod over A.P.; having only seen Saints play once from this side of the pond it is difficult to imagine how good they really are, but everytime I follow the BBC text during the game it is quite obvious to me that N.A.'s ability to read the game and make positive changes in the subs used, and as he say's change of shape really show's his tactical abilities to be excellent and for me far better than A.P. in this area of leadership.
  17. Just picked it up on the web, I thought potential owners were checked out by the football league before allowing any deal to go through, one has to say that the leagues track record with regard to Pompey is hardly A1 is it; perhaps we should show a little empathy for the Pompey fans, on the other hand perhaps not!
  18. I ver much doubt it, due to Pompey being under different ownership, on top of which they have since been in administration; however, how former directors stand could be a different issue.
  19. Our average so far, if i got the maths right, is 2.25 points per game; therefore I will go for 12.
  20. Have to agree, excellent read.
  21. Some I am sure I will be wrong about, however, Ted Bates, to his left Jimmy Melia?, far left Terry Paine, far right John Sydnem, behind Ted, Martin Chivers, far left stood at the back, David Webb, far right at the back, Ron Davies, is that a young Hugh Fisher in the middle far right?
  22. Thanks "Window", with them having lost to Forest a couple of weeks ago, could it be that their league position is rather flattering, great to hear from you though, and that we obviously totally outplayed them in many respects.
  23. From over here and just going on the live text off of the BBC, I would have to agree, I was expecting a much tighter game than that, however, a great result, just a pity that leicester could not get an equalizer at West Ham.
  24. I just drink it down, no need to clean up!
