RIP You saved my club when the light was fading for that I will be eternally grateful. -
ITs harldy restricting the freedom of press. They are still free to report the events in thier own bias / style but they just arent allowed to take photos. In my mind freedom of press and permission to take photos are not one and the same.

IVe done that once or twice in my time. Usually Alcohol related to be fair

Why would Sky turn up to an event that they weren't invited too? Surely we wouldn't havent sent out comunication to Sky about a media event that they weren'r invited too? How did they find out about it an maybe they shoulf of put a call in before they were arrognant enough to turn up to an event prepared for the local media.

surely most perimiter advertising and shirt sponsorship money raised is based on the 20k people at the ground, tv coverage and shirt sales to fan base and not on a few small pics in the local rag and once a week in a sunday paper. I agee that we may see a load of negative stories increase in the short term whilst it is a hot story. However it could be argued that any negative enrgy directed at us could be turned into a seige mentality to improve our chances this year.

what do we actually gain / lose from this media coverage that we will now lose? it seems to me that we get the square root of fook all from the papers currently. Whats the saying? all publicity is good publicity. we are probably getting more media coverage in the media on this story than we will get cumulatively in the rest of the season based in league 1.

Im sure somebody will correct me but I genuinely thought all the photographers (particularly the nationals) at the games were self employed photographers that sold thier photos to the tabloids. If this is so what difference does it make to the papers whether they pay our photographer or some selfemployed snapper. if this is not the case they have a lot of emplyed photographers on thier employment books. Iam guessing NC's ruling doesnt suit the papers as they cant control the prices like they can with self employed photgraphers.

The day we went into administration (and almost extinction) proved beyond doubt that money is more important thant being part of the footbal community. I would also hazzard a guess that most people have joined in the obsession / need for NC to loosen the purse strings and spend some money on a decent new CM, RM and a CF. I am pretty sure that being an upstanding pillar of the community isnt going to pay for the players most are baying for.
-
That is an absolute crock of shyte. They pevious board sanctioned a £7million spending spree gamble to gain promtion and failed. We then went into administration after the parachute payments fried up and you seriously want these muppets back involved with the club. Dune, you are either deluded or a Skate on a wind up and as such it isnt worth even reading your derranged posts.

Today showed me two things that I already knew so am not suprised we lost. 1) Lambert and Lallana are our best two players by a long way and we absolutely rely on them for our 5 star attacking threat. 2) losing Papa and Antonio leaves us without any pace thus reducing our goal scoring threat even more. yesterday and most of preseason we have failed to create many goalscoring chances of much note. Did anyone really think we would look like the team of last season without these 4 players yesterday? the question for me is has AP got the funds to get players of papa or antonios class or has ML /NC decided that AP has spent enough and should use the loan market? Maybe NC is holding back the big money for Jan when he potentially has a new manager in place. If he has thoughts of replacing AP then he is likely to not let AP spend big this summer. We will be a top 6 side minimum with Lambert and Lallana back in the frame but we are woefully short of options if we get injuries or suspensions.

i dont think i or anyone else doesnt agree that a derby match is more passionate, heated or tense. Im sure we all understand the reality of football today and the fact that if you take a child to the game you need to be a little careful. I totally agee with all of that but i still think the guys that got caught up in any trouble / went lookign for it are scum and whilst the punishments are harsh i have no sympathy for any of them. Hopefully they and others like them will learn a harsh lesson that will make future games a safer / less agressive place in the future. I think what some on here mistake is agreesion for passion as they are totally different things.
-
yeah a football match is an event that is attended by adults and children alike. why should i put up with mindless idiots creating an agressive threatening atmosphere outside the ground clearly looking for trouble and throwing missiles. if you think that is acceptable behaviour then you are clearly in possession of an IQ that will need watering if it gets much lower.
-
football hooligans are scum. I took my 7 year old to that match and frankly whether they hurt anyone or not they turned a family event into a situation where children could have got hurt. I for one think a harsh punishment is a great way to make people think twice in future. No sympathy from where i sit.

It appears that Nick Illingsworth has been refused a season ticket
wild-saint replied to hypochondriac's topic in The Saints
or he could pay to go to games, watch the games and perhaps not get involved with things that are none of his business. I dont remember him stumping up circa £12million to give him a right to have a say. As far as I can see the club are running it with some sensible business acumen and this alone will secure the future of the club. its not difficult, pay to see a game either up front or game by game, cheer when we win, boo when we lose. Isnt what footy is about ? all the other shyte us just well shyte annd not worth losing sleep over. -
Its either a fans forum or it isnt. open house & open questions. If it was anything else I doubt solent would put thier name to it. Im not saying of course that NC would want to control the questions but IMO it is unlikely he would get his way at this type of forum.

What makes you say that?

Out of interest Alpine as you dont seem to be happy with the way things are progressing, what would you do if you were in charge?

i think this is a fairly pointless thread

My season ticket arrived at the weekend. I used the new easy payment option. I paid in 1 easy payment.
-
beacause he has pace. the barnard and lambert pairing lacks pace.
-
I totally agree with what you and Dune are saying. Labours tenure has destroyed the country. the working class need to wak up and smell the coffee. if you rack up debt somebody has to pay it off eventually.
-
He is very unagressive for a fullback. We let him go what more do you want to know? But then you think Todger is better than Lambert so you will probably be calling him to be playing for England after a few games.
