This is an interesting view. I had this discussion in the pub before and after the game. Personally im not convinced that barnard has what it takes to be anything more than average at this level. His touch was truely awful last night verging on pub league. Lack of fitness due to his length of time injured but a lack of touch is not excusable. He may have a lack of games but he has been training so his touch should be pretty much there. Although im sure he will get some goals in this league for sure. I would like to see a forward with lots of pace and potnetial for the future to come in and I would like someone that can come in and challenge for a starting postion at right mid that has a little pace about him. De ridder has potential but not sure he is a starter at this point.

Im sure he had some words with adkins during the match and wasnt happy then he was hauled off. Looked right fooked off at the end. Anyone else spot that?

Does anyone see the point/enjoy goal music ?
wild-saint replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
So what. They point it our because they are ****ed off that they have conceded a goal. Losing teams fans point ot lots of things to put down the club / fans that have just beat the such as........... thats the worst we have ever played. saints arent anythign special the bubble will burst. Our defenders wer crap not that it was a cracking goal. **** ground, **** fans, **** whatever etc etc etc/. goal music is irellevant when we score. play it dont play it i couldnt give a toss witehr way -
Apparently opened talks over permanant Hooiveld deal
wild-saint replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
i agree but it could be argued that 3/4 top players coming in to the side could be classed as major surgery (25 - 35% new side). Lets be honest top players coming in are unlikely to want to be bench warmers. -

I think you will find that around £15k is the correct amount for these players. Without revealing exactly who he spoke to a Close friend had an hour long conversation on all things financial with a key member of the saints management team. It was all recognised that major surgery would be requireded on the team should we get promoted this year if we are to compete ( not really a revelation i guess). The general tone of covnersation around the ML family continuing to support would the club would revolve around NCs continued involvement. -
lallana in for milner in that team would certainly allowed some balls forward that might have stuck allowing the rest of the midfield to get forward in support. Most of the game as soon pass was played into a wide position it was lost. a bit tongue in cheek maybe but i dont think he would of looked out pf place tonight

please please please, someone tell me he has a good chance of doing some time if he gets found guilty. saints promotion to the Prem and arry getting buggered in nick. what a year 2012 could be
-
and the tosser of the week award for the 20th consecutive week is ..... {FILL IN BLANK}?
-
you also failed to add the fact that Lallana was out for most of those games as well.
-
I agree that the other 14 clubs will never agree to a change in format althought they may be persuaded if perhaps the relegation issues were taken away. This will utlimately leave the big 4/5 the only other option than to leave the premier league and start a european super league or may be a world league including top team from asia, americas etc. I think that format is inevitable at some stage.
-
it could be a cracker. Imagine if a win confirmed our promotion and confirmed thier relegation. what a memorable occasion that would be!
-
adding a bit of perspective he did get spurs into the champions league which was an achievement agaisnt the usual top 4. the issue I have with redd**** is that he took a job to spite the pompey owners not because he wanted the job. To be honest whose the fool him for taking the money on offer or us offering it to him in the first place. saints decline is more about a number of fatal appointments at management level, red**** was the final straw that broke the camels back.
-
if your so fixated on the past why dont you spend saturday afternoons watchin reruns off thenailbiting relagtion seasons on dvd rather than watching the current crop of players marching in to the premier league. Whilst the past is important the future is more so.
-
best player in the league, are you sure? good player but would you swap lallana for him? i chuffing wouldnt
-
if anythin it shows that you are not a talent scout

fortuantly we were also 3-1 up by the time they had thier chances of note and they were also fortunate that we didnt take any of our other chances of note. They were also fortunate that the lino got an ofside wrong. In summary we were very fortuante.

Class act without a doubt. I am terrified that should we lose Fonte to a long term injury we are proper buggered and will ship lots of goals. Remember the saying "Goals win games and Defences win Championships". Playoffs with fonte and mid table without.
-
its a damn site more interesting than half the threads on this board to be fair. Let face it some of the threads like "how many goals do you think we will score in the whole campaign thread" genius i tell you.
-
If we were still at the Dell, where would be in the leagues?
wild-saint replied to 1976_Child's topic in The Saints
of course because they are empty most saturday afternoons in comparison to SMS. -
some of the comments me laugh , tore the netting back, ripped the netting off, surged across to the home fans....... and then unleashed some particlarly strong language whilst gesturing at the s thaints fans. I must say those fans in the northam must have been left traumatised.

I heard from a very reliale source some interesting stuff about his loan to qpr. Apparently when he went to loftus road and was filmed by sky running into the stadium QPR hadn't been given permission to talk to him by saints. Saints spotted him at the ground on the TV and phoned qpr to find out why they were approaching our player without permission (which they denied until they realised it had been on TV). QPR then to keep out of trouble agreed to an inflated loan fee to take the player.
