Tactics are important but ultimately a player needs to the intelligence and skill to be able to perfom those tactics. Easy for people to say "yes" we have been found out but please give me some detail on what they would do to change it?

Skate or not, blame him for relegation or not. Surely you can't have anything but admiration for what he has achieved at spurs. Do not all of the top sides have expensively assembled squads (and many have failed to get into the top 4). As far as MON is concerend he would absolutely get my vote if he was English. We are an England team and should have an English manager on principle.

Only worth addressing the issue if I dont think there is an issue. I have absolute confidence in adkins ability to motivate the team and tactically instruct his players. Sure we are having a bad time but whist we all agree that going to to the beginning of the season on a roll full of confidence exagerates our abilities its also worth noting going through a patch of bad form and subsequent lack of confidence is also going to make them look worse than they actually are. The question is do i think adkins is capable of turning round thier lack of confidence or not? I absolutely do so its not an issue i think worthy of discussion. On the same note i consider those doubting thomases to be the ones that are overly negative and too many of those in the ground on matchday will not help. Watching saints on saturday against cardiff showed me if anything that thier are few better teams than saints. There you go thats my opinion..

Based on the 30 mins that i saw and nothing else, I thought he had a decent touch, turn of pace and awareness. I do agree my initial thoughts he looked like he lacked strength but thats just my opinion and may be bullied off the ball at times. It certainly doesn't mean i have judged him or written him off. I wouldn't like to say either way whether he will be a roaring success, a complete flop or somewhere in between. I think its a little unfair ripping in to the OP because he dared to highlight his initial thoughts on a players attributes just because its a negative. In the same light it could be called to question that all these other posters are making a judgment on his great touch on awareness based on only 30 minutes. But then thats ok because its a safe comment.

Oh please, what shyte. If they didnt have that sort of money they would spend thier time looking at players who they could afford and thought that would improve the side. This isnt football manager 12, its a multi million pound business and run by intelligent professional people. Do you really think they turn up in the morining and say " what shall we do today, i know lets fax a £50mill bid in for rooney." The bids are the final stages of a year of scouts looking a a multitude of players, talking to agents about values / wages etc.

sdr is getting a lot of stick here for what was ultimately one touch that was slightlyntoo heavy at the end of the game. ok we could have scored but it wasnt be. ineterestingly Guly (who i thought had a decnt game) has taken no stick at all for his complete in ability to get a decent chance in the air on target with his head. i have counted at least 4 opportunities in the last couple of home games that he could have tested the keepe but put it over or wide. yest sdr is getting grief one poor decision.

a striker with some pace to play off the shoulder and pace wide right are what i think we need particularly away. whilst i like billy sharp im not sure he is the right man up front. as for wide right i was really impressed with phillips again yesterday. decent touch, great engine/work rate but importantly he has pace and is very direct.
