First choice would like be VVD and Hoedt or Stephens, but Hoedt and Stephens would be my second choice if VVD leaves.
Out of interest, does anyone think we'll eventually start to play around with the possibility of going 3-4-3 like other teams have done this season?
Forster
Stephens - VVD - Hoedt
Cedric - Romeu - Lemina - Bertrand
Redmond - Gabbiadini - Tadic
I can't see us selling him for £15 million. If the number we are seeking for VVD is true (£70 million), then surely Cedric is worth half of that, or at least a third of that figure based on today's market?
Can we afford to sell him at this stage? Not really unless we can find a replacement, but that could be expensive since teams will put their prices up if we receive big money for VVD and Cedric.
I suppose we could always do a double deal with Chelsea, say a 100 million for them both and Costa on loan for the year (this parts unlikely but a fan can dream!)? Granted replacing VVD and Cedric would be tough and would go against us fighting to get to the next level, but for that money we should be able to do it like we have replaced players before.
I'm surprised we haven't sacked him yet, but, I suppose it comes down to not being able to afford to. Or at the very least, not being able to afford bringing in the sort of manager who will make a difference. As Peter Risdale said, if I sack Dave Jones, who am I going to replace him with, with whose available on the current market?
I hate to quote such a guy but he was right then and the same situation with us right now. If we sack this guy who will we get to come in for a small contract. I suppose we just have to wait and see if he can turn it around.
