That's about right! -
Daily Echo banned from St Marys

Just read Mr Murray's article. It really is a pompous piece of jouirnalism and twisting it to suggest the club decision has caused great suffering to the kids in hospital is ludicrous. If Mr Murray previously worked for that comic the Sun it explains all. -
The Echo is a mess of a paper. Just one example - Normal to have sports on the back 4 or 5 pages but what idiot thinks its a good idea to have the TV and Radio guide in the middle of that section?

Graeme Murty out for 6 weeks
Third Division South Days replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
If it's a choice between Thomas and James i'd go for Thomas everytime. Did he not come from Burnley where I thought most of the time he played at RB. Leave James in midfield where he is now starting to look a very good player. -
Probably has already been suggested but wouldn't the Megastore be a natural outlet for a range of limited edition prints. Ideal christmas presents for next year?

Fair play to "the Old Codger"

He was certainly playing for Hampshire when capped at cricket but think he was a Fulham player when he played against Scotland. -

Pretty certain that the John Arnold playing in that match is one of only 12 englishmen who represented their country at both football and cricket. He only gained one cap in each sport against Scotland and New Zealand. -
You're probably right but I thought that was Arsenal MLT goal etc.
-
Memory probably playing tricks but wasn't Brighton the opponents for the first match played at SMS because they were the first team to play at the Dell.

Cheating in Football - does it matter?

Don Revie and his Leeds team of the 60's/70's wrote the rule book on cheating and foul play. No British team has got close to them since. I still gain great pleasure whenever they lose. -
Rovers (2) Vs Saints (3) Post match chat
Third Division South Days replied to saint lard's topic in The Saints
AP is quoted in the Echo that perhaps he made a mistake taking Harding off(concerned about 2nd booking) and putting Gobern on also a mistake but he wanted to have look at him. My opinion of AP continues to rise. -

More like AP was afraid of a second booking. Gobern at LB though? -
Who should stand in for Trotman?
Third Division South Days replied to SaintDonkey's topic in The Saints
He may well be good enough but with his injury record I suspect he would be unavailable for 50% of games. -
If we can keep the results going and the playoffs become a very real possibility by January who knows. Quality players may just fancy it.

Players That The Old Gits Talk About :)
Third Division South Days replied to Gemmel's topic in The Saints
Happy memories. The link between Reeves. O'Brien, Davies, Chivers and Channon was Terry Paine. He would top any stats list for assists. -
Quite agree I imagine our win stats have been abysmal since the cuddling was instigated. It would also be refreshing if the matches actually started on time(cuddling only adds to ko delay) and half time actually only lasted 15minutes.

Is anyone concerned about Middlesbrough...

I'm going for Keegan. Is it just a coincidence that his dispute with Newcastle is resolved and the sacking announced within hours of each other? -
Murty's place in danger ?
Third Division South Days replied to CHAPEL END CHARLIE's topic in The Saints
Trouble is most of James pin-point crosses come from closer to the half way line than the bye-line -
I dont think the PL will put any money in the club but they have a say in how the club is run and setting the budgets.

Pardew/Lambert/Specsavers .....
Third Division South Days replied to SaintRichmond's topic in The Saints
Take your word on the crossing stat but would you not agree that we are very predictable in our forward play at the moment and in some ways that is little different to last season. We get in front, are unable to finish the job and we get caught. I want AP to stay and hopefully sort it out. -
Looks like the fake Dr has found his exit strategy. "unable to continue takeover on medical advice".

No width, no pace, no ability to get the ball to the bye line, majority of crosses coming from nearer the halfway line than goal line. I suggest goal scoring will always be a bit of a problem. -
James is most effective as a central midfielder. Is a poor right back who also lacks the ability to get far enough forward to get any meaningful crosses in.

At one time didn't they look likely to be in for an automatic spot but went off the boil at the back end of season.
