Didn't Leeds get in the playoffs despite points penalty. My memory may not be correct but didn't they have a 15 point penalty?

So Papa aint the god we thought he was?
Third Division South Days replied to Draino76's topic in The Saints
I thought that for the last 20 minutes after the double substition we played the most attacking positive football of the match, -
Another advantage of getting to the bye-line is that a lot more corners are won which keeps the defence under pressure.

Anyone any inside info on Murtys Injury?
Third Division South Days replied to sussexsaint's topic in The Saints
Luckily Thomas has been a more than useful replacement but we do need a fit Murty asap. -
Lawrie Mac's Centre For Football Research
Third Division South Days replied to Gemmel's topic in The Saints
Just as an aside I notice Lawrie's and Leon's box no longer exists at SMS. -
Most own goals are acheived by the balls from the bye-line. You have turned the defence. At least Thomas and Harding are prepared to attempt to get forward and with James playing a more central role those aimless diagonal balls are little less frquent. Mills gets there and I think he just needs confidence/composure to improve the crossing.

At the Dell did we not normally attack the Archers Road end in the first half - the opposition end. The sunshine factor was also the same.

What do you think is the number one reason why......
Third Division South Days replied to Mr X's topic in The Saints
Totally agree. Hopefully our new players not only have a winning mentality but they really hate losing. Apparently Alan Ball was not at all happy if we lost and he his teammates knew all about it. -
Live Deadline Day Transfer Rumours from Daily Echo
Third Division South Days replied to ruddick's topic in The Saints
How poor is SSN. Been watching for last hour or so and boredom is all they managed to produce so far. There total content is a continual rerun about no more than a dozen potential moves in the Premiership. No content at all of anything happening outside the premiership except a move of a Celtic player to Reading. -
Is St. Mary's part of the problem?
Third Division South Days replied to matthieu's topic in The Saints
How much training actually takes place at SMS? Perhaps if the team spent more time in the stadium it may help get rid of any hangups. Not too concerned about pitch wear other stadiums alternate with rugby. -
Murty gets to the byeline and so does Harding.
-
The crosses are easy for defenders and the attacks break down.
-
You dont score goals from balls centred from deep positions (not at div1 level-the strikers are not good enough) I dont know the stats but i've never seen a goal scored from a james cross
-
I have been frustratad with James as an attacking full back/midfielder from day one. Cant the coaching staff tell him that his crosses are useless until he can get down to the byeline. How many attacks are wasted by his diagonal balls from midway between halfway line and goal line.

Seems AP has not ruled out getting a couple more players in but not before some of the wantaways and the surplus to requirements players have moved on. Transfer deadline day could be very interesting.

Should we change the stand names at St. Marys
Third Division South Days replied to dickyhale's topic in The Saints
I thought the association was to the river not any district. -
Should we change the stand names at St. Marys
Third Division South Days replied to dickyhale's topic in The Saints
No problem with the stands being renamed after Saints legends but surely they should become legends whilst playing at SMS. The dell greats are already well represented within the stadium. Lets leave something for the future to decide. -
I'm sure Chelsea would not have let him come here if we plan just to use him as a cover player.

Strachan at St Mary's sat next to cortese
Third Division South Days replied to Smirking_Saint's topic in The Saints
With his knowledge of the game north of the border he may well have given advice to AP on potential signings from Scotland? -
I'm not too sure that one player on excessive wages is that good for team spirit.
-
QPR were taken over sometime ago, apparently by the wealthiest owners of any club, but they are only being considered now as good enough to be promotion contenders. They have invested sensibly and we maybe SFC is being managed the same way.
-
The last sentence re the signing of Murty seems strange. "Not close to a decision but the contract is there and it shouldn't be a problem". He's been here for weeks so why is the decision not close?

Fancy going to laugh at Skates new Dr?
Third Division South Days replied to NickG's topic in General Sports
Will he be taking part though? -
If thats the case why was he in the starting eleven today? AP is working towards the team to put out against Millwall and would not have started with a player leaving in a few days

Season Ticket Sales still rising!!
Third Division South Days replied to modern matron's topic in The Saints
Start winning matches and climbing the league towards playoff positions. Half season tickets would sell well and with additional walk up gates in excess of 20000 will become normal.
