The thing is with Liverpool, like Loftus road is theres loads of terrible views, you cant see a goal in over a thousand seats at Loftus Road and the same is true at Liverpool if people stand up. Hence why people wont pay £50 and not get a good view but they would with a new stadium or new seats with an unobstructed view. I think SMS is just about the right size, it wont sell out against the Wigans/Norwichs/Readings, will be on the verge of selling out against the Evertons/Newcastles/QPRs and will sell out against the top 7-8.

Being paid to win by rivals is okay - so says Mr Laudrup

Id personally rather player lose 50% of their salary if they lose and 25% if they draw. That should keep the effort level high and ensure they dont slack off. -
I dont think the best team have got better but the ones down the bottom have, look at Wigan hitting title winning form at the end of the season and winning at Old Trafford, QPR beat Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea last season. Even Blackburn won and scored 3 at Old Trafford. The only joke team last season was Wolves. Ive heard people say you dont need to beat the big teams to stay up but I think you have to get 1 or 2 wins against them or you have to win every 6 pointer against the relegation sides.

Looks like Boruc is off to Everton. http://www.metro.co.uk/sport/football/912239-artur-boruc-closes-on-everton-move-after-missing-out-on-qpr#ixzz26uLGGdS7 Im used to 1 or 2 getting a bit angry, especially if I say something negative but I just say how I see it.

That works out one post every other day on average. Hardly cutting into my spare time.

He was going to sign for QPR but Cesar became available instead, there a direct quote from him about it somewhere. Hes a far better keeper than Davis.
-
He is 100%. He has complete control over everything to do with the playing side, building the academy, backroom staff, scouting. Fernandes is no Briatore, he even gave Warnock total control which was daft to say the least. I saw Briatore interfere a lot when he was at QPR and for some reason I think your chairman is doing the same thing with transfers as they dont make sense.
-
Only 3 of the guys havent come from English football. Granero, Cesar and Mbia who have all come from CL teams. Saints buys to me like theyve come from a side who expects to be mid table and just needs to add a bit of quality. However I think most people here thought it would be a relegation struggle and a lot more strengthening was needed in more important areas. I dont know why but my hunch is that Adkins isnt in total control of transfers so hes been hamstrung by someone above him, it was a bit like QPR last season. Warnock wasnt trusted with the money in the January window. Maybe Saints plan is to hope to stay in touch and get a new manager for the January window and get the major buys in then.
-
QPR got 11 players including some world class ones in Granero and Cesar for less than the cost of Ramirez and Rodriguez. Diakite (3m), Cesar(0), Mbia (3m), Nelsen (0), Fabio(L), Granero(5m), Boswinga(0), Hoillett(~4m) and Park(2m) would all have gone straight into the Saints 1st 11, only Johnson(0) would have not. I left out Green because obviously you cant play 2 goalies and having 2 capable goalies is never a bad idea. Saints would have been much stronger going that way by replacing your worst 5 players with better ones. If your budget was £20m then it was a right cock up. If your budget was more then not signing a 1st choice goalie and defenders was the cock up.

Swansea had a PL team already and Norwich strengthened the areas they need too. Saints bought in the areas that were good enough but not well enough in the 3 weakest positions. Saints also wasted money on 2 big money signings when theyd have been better off signing 6 to 8 players for lower fees or even on frees/loan. Whoever is making the transfer decisions has cocked it up big time.
-
They dont have to cost anything, I watch Julio Cesar make his debut and that mean the 1st clean sheet of the season. He was free and not even on large wages. We went from conceded 5 against Swansea to conceding 0 against Chelsea and the defences demeanour totally changed, they were all nervous in front of Green but played very well in front of Cesar. It looks like Saints are suffering from the same problems.

Seeing a man strip down naked in protest at drawing 2-2 with Sheff Weds only for him to miss the winning goal. Theres photos about of the ball going into the net with him undressing in the background. -
This is serious. How close could Rickie be to an England call-up ???

Good article, youd have thought scoring for the smaller clubs would have been a lot harder than the big clubs so they should stand more of a chance of getting in. Its not as if they are playing against NPC sides. Crouch has always been the price example. scores 1 in 2 yet not considered because apparently "he doesnt score against the big international sides" but how is he going to get a chance to prove that if he is never picked. Crouch should always at least be a sub for England. -
Set off by Sam Hammans bodyguard as well. Also we were competing for years in L1 and then the NPC for promotion so every game was a 6 pointer. Theres quite a bit of trouble between Stoke and QPR including one of their fans getting onto the pitch and attacking our goalie but then the FA charged QPR because one of our players hit him. A few incidents like that and the rivalry heats up.

Hes too old, I doubt anyone on here would want Grant Holt playing for England and most non Saints fans would feel the same about Lambert. It would just show how bad our attacking options are, a bit like Rob Green being the #2 shows the woeful state of our goalie after Hart. -
Saints were 2nd or 3rd favs before but since the window close, they have gone to the bottom being odds on with some bookies. I think its been planned for with the signings (Ramirez aside) so it wont be a killer should it happen. However that gap between the PL and NPC will grow massively after this season so it will be very difficult for any promoted side to stay up after next year.
-
Norwich do look like theyve gone for 2 goalies with a full squad. Either the rules have changed or theyve submitted at illegal squad which is a possibility seeing as they were only released an hour after the deadline and they may not have been checked. There was nothing on the PDF either about goalies, maybe now you just need 3 of any age.
-
The only FA you can sign is a goalie, well 2 in fact. The squad list is 3 goalies plus 22 outfielders and you have 1 goalie and 22 outfielders.
-
Thats true, its to stop clubs only naming 1 or 2 keepers and then bleat on about how they need an emergency loan. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/8960853.stm "Goalkeeper Fraser Forster is named even though he is on loan at Celtic, as teams are required to include three goalkeepers." Proof ADP cannot be signed. http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/New-Premier-League-25-man-squad-rules-explained-What-the-new-regulations-mean-for-your-club-article569649.html 9) Clubs do not have to name a full squad of 25 if they do not have that many contracted players and in this case they can add free agents outside the transfer window. However if they have 25 eligible contracted players, they must be named.
-
You cant bring in free agents if you dont name players in your squad that could have been named which is why the ADP is ******** because hes not allowed to be registered as Saints wont have any spare spots.
-
I dont think saints can sign any FAs. You cannot sign FAs if you have 25 over 21s at the club (it doesnt matter if they are named in the 25 or not) and I think that may include those out on loan.
-
You remember wrong, we always sold out even going back to the dell. 300 my arse http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p5rcQcTO2Bw

There was a sold out upper tier which everyone has ignored so you are wrong yet again.
