IF we had appointed a decent British manager after Portvliet
Flyer replied to Mole's topic in The Saints
Luigi De Canio took over QPR when bottom and took them to a mid table finish. Having CCC experience or being foreign doesnt matter. The Dutch duo are bad managers, the only other 3 foreign managers I can recall in the CCC were all successful. Sousa, De Canio and Martinez. Tigana got Fulham promoted all those years back. Youd be better off with them than Peter Reid, Iain Dowie, Bryan Rpbson or Ian Holloway. -

Hmmm, Holloway or Dowie against Martinez or Sousa. It doesnt matter where they are from, a crap manager is a crap manager and a good manager is a good manager. They dont need experience of the CCC to do well. -
No he doesnt, he called anyone an idiot who said hed quit plymouth. Then quit them for more money and promptly relegated Leicester. L1 clubs wont even touch him, hed be a disaster for Saints, plays hoofball and would rather play a 6ft CB up front that someone like Cureton.

You spend ages on the phone and then get through to a muppet, they try to talk you out of it, they then say they have to refer you to the head muppet. If the head muppet isnt in, tough. If they are in, they will spend ages trying to talk you out of it. Then when I finally cancelled, I cancelled my card as well and they still tried to bill me and were sending me letter asking for money. They offered me 3 months free and I declined because it wasnt worth the hassle of trying to cancel again in 3 months.

This is a guy who once played 6 CBs in a team and once played 5 players out of position in order to put the worst CB up front. This is a guy who is getting turned down by L1 and L2 clubs. If you think things cant get any worse, try Holloway as the manager.

Not true, at least 3 London games were cancelled yesterday not due to the pitch but for the fans safety. At least 2 of them had undersoil heating too.
-
Well its coming down hard in the city centre now. I still think theres a good chance it will be called off later, especially with no undersoil heating.
-
If Charlton are in financial trouble, then yes as i think they are already down. However only 1 spot is left so everyone else has a good chance of staying up so I doubt anyone else will do it.
-
Nope, the good players will leave to earn more money and any reasonable offer will be accepted and the overpaid ones will stay because they wont receive a better offer elsewhere. If Saints cant pay the contracts, then any player can leave on a free if they wish, of course the likes of Euell will stay on.
-
Holloway is a moron and is getting turned down by the likes of Swindon and Walsall. Dowie seems to want as many jobs as possible in order to get sacked ASAP and get his contract paid up. Of course this is a nightmare scenario if you cant afford to sack him.
-
Btw, their 1st goal was not offisde, the guy was easily level when the ball was 1st played.

Hes the only one whos invested, its his son in law on the board. The club has the 2nd richest owners in the world but we arent the 2nd richest team in the world. Something the papers always forget.

Mittal is worth nowhere near £57B, more like £13B, Bernie is correct although likely to be halved when he gets divorced and Flav is worth about £200m. Man City are richer and QPR have hardly spent anything because Mittal is a minority owner although there are rumours of him buying out Flav and then spending money.
-
Seeing as I cant post new threads, someone might want to start one. Kelvin Davis is being linked with a 200k move to QPR. http://www.fansfc.com/story/4956.html

Southampton FC appear twice in Evening Standard Top 10...
Flyer replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
I think he got relegated something like 4 years on the trot. Whatever it was, he did seem to be the kiss of death for clubs. -
http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/2009/01/03/bolton-fulham-and-west-brom-chase-qpr-striker-dexter-blackstock-115875-21012463/ We turned down £2m for him last season and its looking like were turning down £4m with an offer of a new contract to him.
-
Hes worth £4m now with Prem clubs after him!
-
Trouble is, once the stadium is open, the clubs lose a huge amount of money as for example, everyone will know it as SMS no matter who sponsors it so they wont get value for money. Somewhere like the emirates is known as that throughout football and the sponsors get a huge exposure and will pay for that.
-
That was a penalty, arm was above his head clearly stopping the ball.
-
In todays climate where every foul and even non foul is a yellow. But really that is a classic example of what should really be a yellow as he didnt mean to get him.
-
Thats a TV game for sure if you beat Man U.
-
100% of football debt must be honoured. If players arent paid. The good ones leave on a free, the overpaid dross stays because they wont get any better offers anywhere else. Also, the team will struggle to sign players after that. Theres really no positive side to not paying players.

Fabregas yes but nearly all the other havent been here since they were 18. They would be affected by it.
