Saints spent that £7m they didnt have a few seasons ago to get to the playoffs. Thats exactly what they are trying to stop, clubs spending money they dont have, having debt wiped out and having another go. Its unfair to other clubs playing by the rules. Also, it was pretty stupid to say the club was set up to avoid any penalties, that means there was forethought in trying to cheat the system. I think an appeal might even bring harsher punishment, especially if Saints were trying to cover something else up and not cooperating.

You do know any legal action would mean Saints registration to the football league next season isnt accepted?
-
Its over, the FL can exclude Saints from next season unless they sign something that they accept the decision. Thats exactly what they did to Leeds and Leeds had to take it or cease to exist, just as Saints would if they appealed or sued.
-
Maybe the amount needed is more than what they could get for those?
-
Because theres a lot of income for that, theres hardly income from then until the 1st home game of next season but the outgoings remain the same, ie wages and mortgage.
-
Isnt that bad news, a win on Saturday will confirm a playoff spot for them no matter what happens elsewhere.
-
Nope, WHU are in trouble because of the Icelandic banks, not because the football club has been mismanaged. Saints should get -10, WHU shouldnt get anything if they can prove the club isnt running at a loss.
-
Bad news for Saints, with reduced promotion and relegation, it will be much, much harder to try and get back into it. Good news for all the clubs that would make it there. The top half of the CCC.
-
Relegation and any points deduction would have to be decided IMO before any prospective buyers part with their cash. Theres a big difference starting in L1 on -27 points and starting in the CCC on 0 points.
-
It lowers the value of the club......so its easier for Lowe to buy 100% of the club, thats why he resigned to pave the way to buy the whole thing.

I think Norwich will get at least 1 win so that leaves Barnsley to go down with Saints and Charlton.

He was an ex QPR left back, a bit of a nutter, quite like Benali in many respects. Used to love kicking people.
-
Not that know off, it was just a 500k fee. I think he was worth that, hes not worth 15k/week or £2m IMO so the loan was a good move, albeit strange if you dont know what was happening.
-
He wasnt getting enough games for him, also there was a contract dispute earlier this year. He wanted 15k and Flav said no, hes going to forest for £2m if Forest stay up.
-
Thats because no actual money was spent, we made a transfer profit in the summer.
-
The cost could be £1 but it will cost £7-8m, maybe more in L1 to run the club, so whoever takes over will need money to burn. ie no fan groups or local guys with no real backing.

Yes they can, they did it with Leeds as they have a provision to do what they want even if its outside the rules.
-
Of course but it still takes time and when you have 34 parties, that is going to be a lot of time.
-
I dont think thats a good thing, the do gooders with no funds will me wasting the time of the administrators but they have to hear what they have to say.
-
Which is what I said earlier, if they want, they can withdraw Saints membership to the league unless they sign a letter accepting -10 points and they wont contest it. They have to do it to stop football turning into a farce where any club can create a holding company and overspend and then put it into admin. The best case scenario is a takeover within the next few days that take on all debts and the FL let off Saints like they did to Derby. But seeing as theyve already reneged on the County debt, it looks like -10 at least is a certainty.
-
If thats not settled, Saints wont be allowed to enter the league next season, all football debt has to be settled 100%. player wages, transfer fees, gate receipts owed to away teams etc. I would hope the FL pays Notts Co (and takes on the money owed) to keep them going because it would be really unfair if they got into trouble because of this.
-
The FL can withhold Saints registration to the league unless they sign a document accepting the -10 points and saying they wont take it further. Its exactly what they did to Leeds when Bates tried to bend the rules with a loophole.

How bad is the beer if Heineken is an improvement?
