They have to get their first. Saints would look pretty stupid expanding to 40k and then blowing the promotion, wouldnt they? Same could be said for saints when they were getting 17k at the dell. Wed get 45k for the big games but 30k for the likes of Blackburn, Norwich Bolton etc. Thats still a massive amount of different in money to 16-18k which is currently a home sell out.

Its an 18k capacity and the home end is sold out even with about 1k views that have pillars blocking the goals, theres nothing we can do if the away team doesnt fill their end. The owner says we need a 45k stadium, not me. Saints wouldnt need a bigger stadium unless they were sold out consistently for several years.

Thats boavista and its only 28k. Id imagine it would be near St Marys size with the corners filled in. If QPR are getting a 45k ground, Id pop a chubby if we got a 3 tiered version of that.

I went to the Emirates this week, while it looks great and has great facilities, it was the quietest 60k Ive ever seen. Very corporate and sterile. Give me this type of stadium any day and either fill in the corners or paint them the club colours. Its got the on top of the players vibe that Loftus Road and the Dell had.

I loved watching games at the dell, facilities might have been crap, there might have been no legroom but the atmosphere there was miles better than SMS. I was even stuck in those horrible cages when I was there.

Thats what SMS is, its the worst type of ground there is plus theres another half a dozen identical to it. Fratton Park and Selhurst park are the worst of the old stadiums Ive seen and SMS is the worst of the new ones. Saints should have built a new version of the Dell, i hope QPR build a 45k version of Loftus Road. id be gutted to have to go to a Ricoh, Pride Park, SMS etc every week. Single tier, shallow rake, 1st row 10m away from the touchline doesnt make a good ground or atmosphere.

As a neutral watching the game, he cost the team 2 points because he was scared of a challenge. He doesnt even have to win the header, just make sure the pompey player cant win it cleanly. He even turned his back on the challenge. That should be something thats totally unacceptable at any level.

I can see how it would be carnage, When I was there we were let out together and funnelled right in with the pompey fans, there was the potential for trouble considering the absurd finish but both sets of fans were chatting to each other about the game. Somehow I doubt that will happen tomorrow, I would imagine Saints fans will be held for a long time, especially if saints win.

Thats not true, they dont want the players to compete but will not stop them. A couple of Welsh players (I think Bale and Ramsey) have already been pictured in GB shirts and want to be picked. I doubt there will be any jocks or NI players as they are just too crap.

Was there last season for a game, its still a massive ****hole, even worse than I imagines although the last minute penalty equaliser and sending off of Liam Lawrence made the experience a little better. A little tip, if you need a ****, go during the game as you wont even get to the overflowing bogs if you start to queue at HT.

Did you ever got to the Dell? Consider the change in facilities from the Dell to SMS. How are they going to improve a similar amount by getting better views, make it easier to get food and drink, more leg room etc? Even a completely new stadium wouldnt see a big increase (bar the 1st season) without success on the pitch.

The difference is we will get 30k even for the likes of Bolton purely due to the new facilities, anyone whos been to LR knows there is no legroom and the facilities are poor. Add on another couple of k due to tourists then the att. will be 32-45k depending on opponents. (Fulham get 25k every week but only take a couple of hundred away so they have few real fans) As for Saints, if they expand, they wont get that initial 5-10k increase because its not a better stadium, just a bigger one so I think they will only get more than 33k for the top 6 teams unless they are Euro regulars.

Theres no chance he stays at QPR , hes only had about 30 mins playing time and is regularly left out of the match day squad but nothing has ever leaked out about him being unhappy.

Sponsorship can get you £10m in the prem, if thats the difference between getting relegated with your own name or staying up with the Air Asia Arena then I know what Id want. Saints would have never entered admin with a proper naming deal either. You have to get the name to stick in your mind, I wont refer to any newly sponsored stadium by its correct name but will a new stadium as theres nothing else to call it. As for renaming clubs, red bull are already doing that and we have a couple of non league clubs with corporate names.

The value of sponsorship at both St James Park and SMS have been hugely devalued. Everyone will still call the stadiums by their old name. Saints missed a trick and they should have gone for a very long deal of 10+ years when it was built and then they have got more money as the ground would have been known by that name, eg everyone calls Arsenal the emirates now. Only new stadiums have a sponsored name that sticks, can anyone think of a single old stadium thats referred to by its sponsored name?
