  1. Whats with these crass Hillsborough references on hear? No place for crass statements
  2. That is disgraceful. And that is a polite response
  3. What if the offer is £15m + the add ons (c.£10m) + Borini? Could pose a bit of a dilemma? And what would we have to pay Bournemouth? 25% of the £15m or is it £25% of something less tangible? We may get a net transfer of £11m plus Borini plus £5m+ in add ons
  4. He was mentioned/discussed last night in anticiaption of the Swiss match today. Produced 2 assists and also supplied the pass for the *goal* which was incorrectly flagged offside. If you want another one, look out for Komborov for Russia on Tuesday.
  5. Actually that is a very good shout. Look out for him for the Swiss!
  6. Before we get ahead of ourselves with what appears a really good appointment, don't forget the Dutch league is not very strong....
  7. In principle I do not have an issue with selling to Liverpool (or any other team seemingly a step up). However, the way in which they appear to be conducting their business leaves a bitter taste. They are unsettling the players, whose head is turned, but the money on offer is quite frankly insulting. Our valuations are not being matched, and any chance we have of making the amount we are seeking will only be seen if Liverpool are successful in terms of trophies. its cough up or move on to other targets for me. This is not just limited to Saints. Liverpool's bid for Moreno from Seville has stalled for the very same reason. Liverpool are trying to bully clubs into accepting the offer on the table whilst serenading the players
  8. If I was a player I might wait to find out and not act the prima donna ...esp when preparing for a major tournament. The comms have been pretty regular, fair and consistent. And, when made they are received well (for 24 hours at least)
  9. Not so sure that everything reported as fact is indeed true. Kevin Pietersen has today been very public in calling out the Sun cricket correspondent who stated that so peeved is KP with the ECB that he has returned the gifts presented to him when he reached 100 test caps. He has been posting photos of himself with afore-mentioned gifts. Let's just see shall we? Even if he has submitted a transfer, Liverpool have to not only match our valuation but pay it in more than easy to pay weekly instalments. Liverpool must think we are a branch of Brighthouse
  10. That's an outlandish suggestion * * far too rational to be given any credence on a forum
  11. On the plus side, Newcastle have been asked to double the transfer fee for Cabella to £12m ...and that was before this chnace to be called up. Means that if Morgan gets the nod n place we can ask for nearer £20m for or far superior product when it comes to any enquiries that is! As he is my favourite player though, I don't want him sold at all. He's been a star since he first graced St Mary's under the Portvliet.
  12. Student also keeps referring to Saints fans (and club) as 'you' - not 'us'. This kind of gets my back up a little bit as I'd rather talk of potential player transfers is discussed among "us". It all seems part of the pressure & expectation being applied by the bigger clubs into making us give our players away for a bag of Werther's originals and some pear drops.
  13. Vorm to Liverpool Benitez to Saints Pepe Reina to Saints ??? (wishful thinking)
  14. Liverpool must think they are shopping at Boots, hoping to pick up a 3 for 2 offer. The amounts rumoured to be offered suggest they are hoping for a discount for bulk buying
  15. May be the reason there has been no news yet is because of Van Gaal? I read an article yesterday which suggested Spurs are waiting to see if Ancelloti leaves Real Madrid after the Champions League Final. Their suggestion was that Levy has him as number one choice. Far more likely is that Man U will target him as their first choice, allowing Levy to approach van Gaal again. Poch is therefore on Spurs' list but probably not at all at the top
  16. Very much Rickie's England debut and post match reaction, even though it was against Scotland
  17. May be with Giggs, should he decide he doesn't want to be no2 at Man United? Now excuse me whilst I go off at scrub myself vigorously with a brush made to rusty nails (it will be the only way to feel clean after that)
  18. Whilst it may be "great" that Cortese dismissed enquires away with such style and pinache when clubs came a calling, it is also the case that this approach would not have been endearing to clubs when we enquired about the availabliity of our targets.
  19. That is what Jesus Perez told me. He was genuinely perplexed as to why I wanted Poch to agree a new deal when he already had a year and a bit left on the current one one. The suggestion being he had no reason to extend it during the season. It has still not changed my view/concern given the media speculation about everything & everyone. I am not panicking or getting my boxers in a twist, but I'd like the uncertainty to be resolved all the same.
  20. This is my understanding too - see my post on pre WC transfers thread.
  21. Deals may be agreed. Player registration remains with the selling club until 1 July, to my knowledge. They therefore remain Southampton players at the world cup. Also, anyone with a modicum of understanding would know which team they earned their call up playing for.
  22. Pochettino share many characterisitcs/mannerisms with Kenny Dalglish. He could be perceived as surly, difficult, non-committal. Essentially, though I jsut feel they get tired of dealing with the same inane questions which have no real affect on what they will write anyway.
  23. There is nothing in this which differs from Jesus Perez's comment to me the other week that he has a contract until the end of 2014/15 - they are also fascinated that 'people in England' are obsessed with the length of a contract.
  24. Of course Liverpool would like to complete the transfer before the world cup (as would any other club interested). Before the world cup Adam's value is lower than it wil be come July. Possibly by 25% (lower end) to 50% (upper end) based on the reported £20m offer on the table The club, I am sure, know this and will not accept an offer now when they know an offer which cannot be declined (for both club & player) will come. Lallana is currently akin to investing in gold.
  25. Can't believe I am saying this, but I am with Glasgow and think that Connor Wickham would be an ideal signing. He fits our criteria of taking young, hungry adaptable players perfectly. He can either play as a wide forward or as the centre forward. He could be the long term replacement to Rickie - who will not be able to play every game Now I am going for a wash with a wire brush
