  1. Well, he is far more of a gentleman than me then, ....... as I would refer to you as something ...... a little stronger.
  2. Hello? ...... McFly?!?!? We are losing...... £17m a year!!!!! ....F......F......S
  3. So if we do not off load them, what is your plan to reduce current losses, before trading of £17m? We, including everyone on the plc board, Barclays and Norwich Union, await your financial strategy? What is so obvious that everyone can't see it?
  4. And did we not do just that last season? At your own admission, higher wages were therefore a waste. The cost of which was almost catastrophic.
  5. I never suggested we could (but just accepting we are stuck paying the wages is not the answer). It does highlight the folly of paying players higher than average CCC wages mind.
  6. If we were't losing £17m before player trading from last year then selling all the family silver would not be the best idea ever made. However, the reduction in the wage bill by shifting JV, Safri, Wright, Idiakez & Licka has not made much of a dent on the monthly overheads. Making available the remaining high earners, who with the exception of Skacel, have little sell on value (certainly in comparison to their salary) in order to rein in these costs is a necessity if not also a sensible measure. Of the 5 (Saga, Rasiak, John, Euell, Skacel) I would think we need to find ways of off-loading 3, may be 4, of those above. We do not have another Jones, Bale or Walcott (not yet anyway) to negate the need to have to lose some or most of the high earners. I am pretty certain the bank would not accept another year of losing £17m before trading and certainly not if we do little or nowt about reducing that figure.
  7. Its a high risk strategy to keep paying c£40k a week on Saga, John & Rasiak. Just as fatal to our very survival, let alone in the CCC. Unless you can guarantee promotion, that is a strategy that simply will not be supported by the bank.
  8. Yeah - lets keep all of the highly paid players and hope they don't realise the coins are in fact chocolate
  9. Don't ever under estimate the importance and sanctity placed on 2 pints of beer. Just refer back to the furore over the suspension of the bus service on matchdays. I think rattles and dummies are still being found behind sofas and cupboards all over west hampshire.
  10. I would hope so. I hope that all supporters will put aside any "misgivings" and show their support for the players. Surely, the backing we give them will only encourage them?! Based on the performance on Friday, does that not whet the appetite even more?! I popped in on a mate on the way home who couldn't make the game and waxed lyrical. He knows I am hopelessly optimistic, but knew from the Claus game and reports of other pre-season games that I speak no lies (may just embellish or exaggerate!) :-)
  11. I hope the performance on Friday encourages the fans to go out and support the team this season. Lets put the politics aside and give our backing to the team
