How do you work that out if we have a net spend of £1m (all clubs will have a greater net spend than us); we have trousered the TV money so Kat can take it out; we won't spend what other clubs are prepared to spend. We have the most expensive squad in Hampshire and that is it. Money spent is probably equal to our current league position.

If I spent £140m of a wealthy owners money, adding players to my squad, I'd be expecting the owner to state champions league was the aim, not 6th
-
The thought had crossed my mind too!
-
Ha! Spooky - given my post just now about his price tag. :-)
-
I have not seen him play, and looking at his stats over the past 2 full seasons and this one I am not sure why valuations of £16-24m have been mooted. He appears to be a squad player at Napoli, rather than a starter. I would rather we spend money on a forward who is playing regularly (starting rather than being a squad player) such as Haller or Jorgensen in the Dutch league for eg. Alternatively, someone who has proven EPL experience when I can at least weigh up what I have seen of the player vs their relative current game time (eg Wilfrid Bony, Berahino, Borini)

He was probably one of the few they spoke to in the summer that apparently got to an advanced stage (though did not progress ??). SSN may just be jumping the gun or putting 2 and 2 together - it wouldn't be the first time. Regardless, Silva was one of the names I had on my shortlist in the summer before Puel (along with Roger Schmidt, Favre, Valverde and Marcellino). I thought he met much of our alleged criteria (young, progressive, coaching of youngsters etc). So I agree with Crab Lungs that potentially he is a good appointment. and that coming in in January with the club bottom of the table and an owner unwilling to invest, not apparently having the players used to playing the way Silva would like, would suggest it might not save them from the drop. For the record, I am not in the 'Puel Out' camp, but I am also not going to pretend he does not have a challenge on his hands, even if it is just in motivating the players to put in performances. If he cannot get a tune out of a set of players that are better than they are currently playing (Bournemouth match aside), then may be we, or he, need to act. Its like we are playing with the hand-brake o. Everything is tentative and measured. No zip and no one doing anything off-script (like Mane would infuriatingly do for bad as well as good). My concern is that if results continue as they are and some get there way, it will also mean that Virg pushes to move this month as we won't have the EFL cup final to keep his focus for a while longer at least

FA Cup 3rd Round Draw - Norwich away. Yawn.

I would have thought that both clubs agreed a pricing strategy before we announced details for the 1st leg. It would be disgraceful if it cost saints travelling fans twice as much as it cost Liverpool's away support -
Arsenal 0-2 Saints - Reaction & Semi Final Draw
thefuriousb replied to Lighthouse's topic in The Saints
It will be interesting to see what happens with the date for the 2nd leg. Whilst our match with Leicester has been re-arranged for Sunday at midday, Hull are away to Chelsea at 4pm the same day. One of us and Hull currently have to play twice in 48 hours....... unless sense takes hold and they swap the Hull & Liverpool fixtures (Sat 12.45pm), so that us & Liverpool both play on Sunday. Meaning we can then play the 2nd leg on Wednesday. It remains to be seen if common sense prevails -
1.5 euros?? Really?? Would have thought those which accept euros would charge more as they will tend to be 'chains'
-
He is my no 1 pick. Not exactly original and not unknown at the biggest clubs in Europe, but he can take the well-trodden route to Saints on the way as we will off him regular football and an excellent environment to develop

OK. So your group bought tickets for matches and then some members of that group passed on tickets to others within the group when they themselves did not go? Therein lies the weakness of a group not being an official supporters group. The club are none the wiser. I hope you can find a solution to your current predicament
-
Didn't your friends use your customer numbers when purchasing the away tickets for you. The customer number remains despite no longer being a season ticket holder. You do not have to buy the tickets yourself.
-
How do you view your purchase history (I'm probably being ever so slightly dumb)
-
No - train back to center-savidor, then change for direct train to Ben Gurion (14 mins). Last train from BS north is 23.06. By my reckoning it will be a race to get the last train as the stadium is 45 mins walk from train station, hence why the bingo bus remains appealing despite not (as yet) dropping off near the transport hubs in Tel Aviv but an abandoned nightclub on beach front instead (!!)
-
I've not yet decided how I'm getting back to Tel Aviv after the match (train or the 'bingo bus' are both options) but as I am on an early morning flight out of BG airport to schiphol I'll be heading to the airport to make sure I'm checked in & through security. Sleep is for losers! :-) What were you thinking?
-
The drop off point is a bit of a trek from where I need to get back to! It is about 5 miles to the hotels near transport links (not such an issue for the pick up as I have all day to head towards the beach front)
-
I was planning on getting the train to and from the airport into Tel aviv. Should the club not run coach travel to Beer Sheba then the walk to the train station has the makings of becoming a run if fans are held back after the final whistle. It's meant to be a 40-45 minute walk and the train is little over an hour after the match ends

Late move to try and push sales (and at the same time inadvertently by-pass STs with 9+ always,c admittedly for a premium) or given up on any more takers for hapoel away?
-
On the Be'er Sheeva front, has any more come of the club's phone calls to find out the interest in running transport to and from Tel Aviv? I haven't had a call yet and have not seen anything more concrete on the club's website ??
-
Now that I am all booked up to go to Beer Sheeba, has anyone looked at rail travel from Tel Aviv? The way I have read the ticket types is that you can only purchase single tickets. Returns require a smart card which is issued having provided an ID card. I can't see any info about return travel without Israeli ID
