  1. I fail to see where that argument comes from - I didn't say that did I? We are where we are because of the games we have lost so far. Give the man a chance - I repeat, 3 games are not enough to judge him on.
  2. It really amazes me that people can condemn Wotte after only 3 games! The players he has to work with were not signed by him - but he is at least doing what everyone said should be done at the start of the season, playing experience with the "best" of the youngsters. I think he has more of a clue than Poortvliet did and we're not going to get anyone else before the end of the season so what's the point in slagging him off? Who knows, if those two shots that hit the post on Saturday had gone in we'd all be singing his praises! Back off ffs! The damage was done in the first half of the season and I don't think anyone could get us out of it.
  3. That looks like the strongest team we can put out at the moment. Good mix of experience and youth - one reservation is Paterson - not sure he's ready yet - would put BWP in his place. James has improved his game at right back so in the absence of anyone else he has to play - needs to improve his crossing though. I like what Wotte is saying about how he approaches the game - reminds me of NP a bit dare I say! He is a stronger character than JP and is going to play more experience allied to to the best of the young players. I am hopeful he can turn things around - just hopeful not confident!
  4. Me too. Just had a look at the predictor part of BBC football and really couldn't say with any confidence that we'll win any of the remaining games. I'm sure we'll win some, but nowhere near enough, sorry to say. I'm resigned to relegation now, just hope it leads to a change at the top. :smt022
  5. I live in Bournemouth and when they first went into administration, none other than our old friend Harry Redknapp said in the Echo, words to the effect of, "this club will never fold, if it comes to it I will step in." He has a soft spot for them since managing them in the 80s. Be interesting to see if he's as good as his word - because I for one don't trust him one iota!
  6. Not felt as positive as this for a looooong time. Yes would have been nice to have won, but after Molyneux' stupid sending off a draw was the best we could hope for. An aggressive, fighting performance - a little worried about James, he was beaten for pace too many times for my liking. Saga has to be the MOM for the goals, but Saijs and Perry were rocks and Euell when he came on was really up for it, getting stuck in, winning headers and organising. Wotton looked solid to me - one of those players you need to stick their foot in and break up moves. The balance between young and experienced was about right today - a good point and with that attitude we CAN get out of this.
  7. Interesting that Saga makes into every selection - hope you take note Mr Wotte!
  8. That really isn't fair on him - when he first came here he was brilliant and scored for fun - GB messed him around last year for whatever reason, and he wasn't a regular in the side. Strikers need a run in the team and he didn't get one. Saga is an experienced international for Christ's sake and MUST be preferred to any of the youngsters.
  9. To repeat myself from another thread, he was just beginning to look useful before he was injured - when he's fit again and we're crying out for a decent winger, he's loaned out! Unbelievable! :smt104
  10. Against Donny, and correct me if I'm wrong, only 3 players had come through the academy, ( Surman, McG, and James) all others were bought in - looks like they are finally accepting that our home grown young players can't do the job on their own.
  11. Remind me not to take any notice of your opinion in the future - how wrong can you be? For the record, Dyer was just beginning to come good before he was injured, can't for the life of understand why he's out on loan. Bring him back early, we need all the help we can get.
  12. What concerns me, or should I say Wotte concerns me, is that this Total Football experiment that has so obviously failed, goes on - everybody else sees this - why on earth don't Lowe and Wilde?
  13. It looks like they will take relegation in order to secure the future of the club - how else can some of the decisions being made be explained? Staying up this year would be a bonus - and for all those like me who are pleased Saga is back, don't hold your breath - he'll be gone again pdq and we'll be stuck with the inconsistent 'forwards' we have now. Remember those heady days when RL talked about taking the club to the next level? Perhaps it's a case of two steps backwards...?
  14. We all knew it would never work - but Rupert is a law to himself and always knows best. I fear we won't see the back of him until this latest experiment is seen to have spectacularly failed. Normally with a manager doing so badly at this point in a season, he would be gone, but Rupert has bet everything on JP and youth succeeding so has to see it through to the bitter end. I just hope that, if we are relegated then he finally admits he got it wrong and goes. I feel numb - I'll be going to the Reading and Man U games but without much enthusiasm for either. I certainly won't be going to watch in League 1.
  15. Jan Poortvliet was the wrong appointment, at the wrong time; appointed by a man with a track record of poor decisions and the drastically misguided belief that he "always knows better" than anyone else. We had a very able young manager in Nigel Pearson (note readers, Leicester won 4-0 today to cement their place at the top of League 1), some promising youngsters who could have been brought through in a considered and sensible way, without over-pressurisinng them, and some seasoned pro's who could help their progression. We could easily have cut costs etc. but have retained Pearson and the hub of a half-decent side. But oh no, it was time for another moment of 'genius' by the leader of the board... I totally agree with this post, and I've been saying it for some time now. Lowe has ALWAYS thought he knows best, and nothing can sway him. Any other manager would have sacked by now. Of course with all the fanfare about total football etc. JP can't be sacked - what would that do for Lowe's credibility? I'm afraid we have to see this through right to the bitter end, but if we do go down, then Lowe should recognise he got it wrong and go.
  16. That last one makes the scalp tingle! Brilliant stuff.
