Most disappointing player is Steve De Ridder for all the hype and not delivering on a regular enough basis Worst player Alan Bennett or Steve O' Halloran
-
So hope newcastle are relegated. Now that would be really funny
-
I will be more hopeful for an upset next Saturday if Liverpool beat Spurs today as it is typical Liverpool just when things are really looking up to lose to a team like us and typical Saints to perform better against decent sides.
-
Think we might seriously regret not strengthening our squad. Can't believe we are feeling that cocky about staying up when we are only 3 points clear. Hope to god we don't get many injuries unless we will be relegated
-
If we pick up a few injuries now I think we could be in big trouble as we do not have enough quality back ups imo in the full back and winger positions. Our 1st team is excellent but I can not believe we have not brought a couple of players in on loan as we are only 3 points above the relegation places and could still easily get relegated if things go against on injuries, suspensions or loss of form. Our plan for the next few years would then be intatters as I am sure all our young stars wouldn't hang around in the ccc. I am very hopeful we will still be ok but I do think we are taking a pretty big risk which I find baffling when a new manager comes in and then doesn't bring anyone in even though we know about 7 or 8 of our 25 man squad are not of premiership quality at least!!
-
Think we still need at least a winger and possibly another defender who is versatile as if Clyne and Shaw were injured for any period of time I think we would get relegated. We have to bear in mind what our relegation rivals are doing and the majority look like thet are seriously strengthening their squads like Newcastle,QPR and Reading. Our bench is weak and if we pick up a few injuries we could be in serious trouble. That's just my opinion that a couple of players to provide options are needed even if coming in on loan

Puncheon new contract signed? New sponsorship/shirt deal? Two possibilities or a new signing -
The people has us linked with ex Chelsea boss.

If we don't beat either Newcastle or Norwich at home I think it is nailed on that NA will lose his job and Di Matteo replacing him is very likely if that happens . Hope we win and NA is here for years to come -

time for Adkins to go -
Time is up for Nige. Would have loved it to work out as I wanted a manager here for years but he is out of his depth in the premiership and will take us down. Don't know if the lack of defensive recruits in the summer was his fault or NC's or both but either way it will cost Nige his job!! A Benitez or Redknapp would no doubt find a couple of decent frees defensively until January if they came in?

Hanson worried for Saints lose next to and game over!
WATERSIDEIFASAINT replied to Saints Warrior's topic in The Saints
If we lose the next 2 it won't be certainly over but a very long climb back and not looking good. However, 2 defeats will probably unfortunately be the end of NA if he is given that long as a defeat to Villa could be the end with him not even reaching the Everton game!?(hope not) -
My chat with Paul Gilmour... and briefly with adkins

not if we bring in an out of contract player. As we have quite a few players 21 and under could we name less than a 25 man squad and bring in an out of contract player afterwards? -
Think we will buy 4-5 players this week and spend a shed load of cash maybe as much as £30 million!!! Ramires Phillips Olssen Douglas Dann and maybe a goalkeeper. Agree if we don't get in at least 3 quality players we are in really big trouble
-
Meltdown if Seabourne goes out on loan before replacement brought in - TOO RIGHT It would be totally idiotic to let him go 1st as what happens if Jos and Jose get injured this week with no cover signed!!!?
-
Thank christ for the olympics over the past couple of weeks which has at least distracted a lot of us away from worrying about Saints lack of signings. With one week to go very disappointed we haven't got a decent cb in and think we will be seriously embarassed at the etihad next Sunday. Reading and West Ham both look far more ready than us at this stage. Need three top quality signings unless we are heading for a very very long difficult season

Hope some quality signings are on the horizon soon as imo we have easily the weekest squad in the premiership at the moment. We assume that we are still trying to get 3 or 4 players in but it is worrying that we haven't managed to get at least 1 cb in yet. -

I wonder if Danny Simpson is a target for rb? See some rumours on twitter and surely we can persuade him we are a far better bet than Reading long term for him? Who would people prefer Simpson,Clyne or Trippier assuming rumours are correct and we are considering all of them or would you stick with our current rb's? -
Reading are better equipped for the Premier League than Southampton
WATERSIDEIFASAINT replied to Elmore's topic in The Saints
At the moment the article is correct. Reading have added the Russian, Guthrie and Mcleary and we have added J Rod but we all know or certainly hope there will be 4/5 quality additions to our squad yet and Reading will no doubt add a few more aswell. Hopefully we will add better players than Guthrie and Mcleary. Lets hope some of these growing rumours on Buttner,Davis, Buckland result in a couple of signings shortly. We will probably find out in the next 7/14 days where Clyne,Dann,Michu and Jarvis are all off to. would be happy with a couple of them. Are we actually after any of them? We will be one of the favourites to go down as the promoted clubs always are. With the right signings I'm sure we will prove them wrong -
Why do people think it is stalling when he isn't back in the country yet!!!? If the OS hasn't confirmed the signing by end of thursday then I will start worrying that it won't happen. Either way there is nothing we can do about it

I was told today by a mate that NA has been given a £25 million transfer budget to spend this summer. Would stack up to some of the players and transfer fees that we have been linked to. I would not be surprised if we spend this sort of sum this summer but it would probably shock some of our bottom half of the table rivals!! Will be a very interesting summer imo -
Much more pressure on West Ham for this game. They have not played a top 12 team twice yet this season so have got every top team to play again. We have played 5 of the top half teams twice so have less difficult games than West ham after this one although there is no such thing as an easy game in this league. I definately prefer our fixture list though
-
If we are not willing to pay Billy Sharp's wage demands, I would be utterly amazed that Reading are willing to pay higher salaries than Us and Leicester. If they are with their attendances they are quickly heading for oblivion even with a new owner!!

Who is this week's mystery signing?
WATERSIDEIFASAINT replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
So MLT as far as you know are we still talking to this player? You mentioned that prem teams were sniffing around and if he didn't sign pretty quickly that you thought it was less likely to happen. Is that now you opinion that it probably won't happen? -
Lukas Jutkiewicz.... is he worth signing?
WATERSIDEIFASAINT replied to david in sweden's topic in The Saints
Good signing for Boro. Hope we don't regret not signing him come May. My worry is that we target unrealistic signings like Hooper that we haven't got a hope in hells chance of landing unless we are willing to pay top dollar which it appears that we aren't and then on transfer deadline day we look around at more realistic signings to find they've all been snapped up or we've left it too late!! I get a feeling of deja vu in this transfer window like August where we are linked with loads of potential signings including a marquee signing which gets everyones expectations up to be left disappointed come the 1st feb. If we are disappointed come feb 1st then imo NA & NC will be the ones left very disappointed come May when we dont go up if they seriously wanted to go up this year?. A couple of quality signings are essential for us to have a realistic chance of automatic promotion imo.
