I think we could sign upto 3 more players before the end of Monday.Puncheon,a holding midfielder hopefully Stock and a young up and coming striker like Tomlin or the lad from Crawley as both Saga and Patterson have left and we need another striker.Maybe Lisbie is still on the radar?

I think we have been playing well under par since mid December and even before that we didn't play great against Wycombe and Tranmere.If we are going to go for it this season and try and make the play offs we need another midfielder and striker urgently ie by the Brentford game.Both Brentford and Exeter are decent at home and they are now must win games if we are going to make up ground. We need to go on another winning run because we are seriously stuttering at the moment hence why I feel we need 2 top notch quality signings. MK Dons will be extremely difficult in mid week as they will be very confident after there 5-0 away win today

norwich 5-0 up at Colchester.Shows we have got a long long long way to go to be a really top side in this league.Todays performance sums it up for me we are going through a real lull in performances in the last month and have not been good for a while.We need to be beating teams like Millwall.MK Dons have also scored 5 and will be well fired up for Wednesday

I heard we were in for Freddie Eastwood so this was the possible deal in the pipeline!? Would have been a good signing for us but now sounds unlikely

we need a back up striker and midfielder and I would be amazed if we don't sign both before the window shuts. It wouldn't surprise me if we brought in 2 strikers maybe 1 on loan so if Connelly & Lambert are injured there are alternatives at the moment when Connelly is injured we look light weight upfront imo.We need competition and cover upfront

I am very disapointed with Saints on this one.Ward was definately a far better signing in my opinion.Trust me to get hopeful with Saints with mention of Stock,Danns and Ward.As the days go on it looks like none of them will be coming here and after the speculation that is highly disappointing!!Has anyone got some concrete news on Stock or Danns?

We dont have a mortgage on the stadium anymore which puts us in a very strong position financially.

It would not surprise me at all if we try and land Simeon Jackson as we are trying to build the best squad in league 1 that can then move on in the ccc.Jackson should be able to play at a higher level.Possibly Lee Barnard aswell could play in the ccc.I am not so sure about Pericard.Could do well as a back up in this league. How many teams have much money to spend at the moment(very few) Thats why we can take serious advantage this window Will be amazed if we do not add to our strikeforce this window and it would not surprise me if we bring in 2 as we only have Lambert and Connelly who are proven.Patterson is not ready and Saga obviously does not have a future with us.If one or both of Lambert and Connelly are injured then we are stuffed. It would not surprise me if we bring in upto 5 more players this window as we are obviously going for it 2nd half of this season.If our 2nd half season form is better than the 1st and we drew a lot of games then I think we will make the play offs.(Without the -10 we would be in a play off position although Swindon would have a couple of games in hand. At the right price lets sign Ward,Stock,Danns,Jackson & Barnard. With all those we would have some team and back up!!

Schneiderlin has picked up his 5th booking and will miss the Huddersfield game.Will be a big miss in that game

AP has had 4 months to plan his moves in the Jan transfer window.I would be surprised if we haven't got a couple of players lined up especially a cb and back up striker for starters.It certainly sounds like 4 or 5 signings could be brought in this month.We doneed to improve our squad. IMHO we need to strengthen our squad very fast this month as we have must win games against Huddersfield,Millwall & Swindon if we are likely to reach the play offs.Our record against the top ten sides is not good enough and needs to improve in the 2nd half of the season

I've heard rumours that we will bring in upto 6 more players this transfer window with most of them permanent.I've also heard from a very good source that AP has an open cheque book to buy the right players at the right price so expect some money to be spent if he can get the players he wants. Targets like Lines,Barnard,Ward,Whitbread and even possibly Jackson are possible.Preston are skint and looking to sell players so maybe we will move for Trotman. I do think Reo Coker & Beckford are unrealistic targets imho. No doubt most of our signings will not even be on our radar on this board until they arrive like Hammond & Lambert but I am confident that there will be a number of additions to our squad

Preston are apparently trying to sign Elliott Ward initially on loan and then permanently in Jan according to Sky.If this is the case will they be willing to sell us Trotman or extend the loan for the rest of the season?

Norwich at home so we can knock them out as I'd fancy our chances more against MK Dons in a 2 leg Southern final.I think we can beat anyone at home but both Norwich or MK Dons away in the next round would be tough.

Let Leeds beat all the teams chasing the 2nd automatic and play off places and lose to us then we can nick a play off place or even better.Leeds will win this league and can hopefully help us by doing some damage to our main competitors.I can see us nicking the 2nd automatic slot if we can win 25 games which I believe we can.Not saying we will but I think our team is talented enough to win the majority of games they play this season.

I am sure we can find a better striker than Saga who does not look like he is ever going to score and Patterson who is not ready.Mifsud and Connelly who are both unattached would be miles better imo and I'm sure there are plenty of other strikers who could do a better job than Saga and Patterson. We also need a decent quick winger like Gradel to get in behind teams and play to Lambert's strengths

I can't believe some of the cr*p posted on here by some saints fans.What a bunch of whinging idiots who were probably not at the game!! We played very well for about 70 mins yesterday but run out of steam after the 2nd equaliser which seemed to hit confidence aswell.On another day we could have comfortably won the game and if we play like that we will win the majority of our games. Progress is definately been made.And for people slagging off Hammond and Lambert I thought they were both immense.Lambert was unlucky and only stopped by their keepers brilliance of scoring a hatrick.Hammond was everywhere and a real driving force in midfield. Bristol Rovers were a decent side who never gave up.We will not play many better teams in this league this season imo. I saw enough last night to say we're heading in the right direction and we played far far better than we did against Yeovil which we won. WE WERE VERY UNLUCKY LAST NIGHT.That is why it irritates me people slagging the team off who were not at the game and are solely going on the result and not the performance.

Great appointment.My mate who is a Wimbledon fan reckons we have got a great coach and a real character.He apparently was the chief instigator of the crazy gang being set up at Wimbledon.Will definately help these players get a real togetherness and one for all attitude which is probably the last main ingrediant we now need to have a sucessful side in this division.We need real team spirit

After reading all the comments from Charlton fans over the last few weeks on Pardew I am starting to get worried.I just have this nagging doubt but hope Pardew does work out as the last thing we need is to have to change managers again.That definately could put us at risk of dropping into Div 2. At least we will be able to bring in Papa and Saga and hopefully Mills will start in the next match. Charlton really really hate Pardew and are playing well.Pardew really needs to get this team hugely pumped up for this game or we could get hammered which really wouldn't do us any good in our current predicament.As we then need to win our next 3 matches aginst Yeovil,Carlisle & Bristol Rovers.The team will have had enough time to gel by then so there should be totally no excuses for those 3 games.If we can't win them we are in big big trouble imo Lets hope there are still 2 loans on the way so Patterson and Thompson can be sent out on loan and not be in our squad as neither of them are currently good enough for div 1. Charlton fans think they are going to beat us 4-0.It would be marvellous if we could shove it right down their throats.On paper we should be able to compete with anyone in this league so next week will be fascinating to see where this team really are.Other than Murty he should have his 1st choice team to chose from.

Hope this rumour of another player arriving next week is a winger or striker as Patterson is nowhere near good enough for the 1st team squad yet. Assuming we lose at Charltom next week(although that would be typical Saints to win that one with Charlton having a 100% record and us not having won!!)then Yeovil is a total MUST WIN game to get this season moving.If we don't beat Yeovil things will start looking extremely bleak and could start the fans turning on Pardew!? I don't care how shi*e the performance is now,Win at all costs is needed as its a results business we're in.

Absolutely delighted after today.Rumour is that the 3rd player signing touted yesterday will also happen a bosman free and we have still got the loan market to exploit if we feel we need to or have injuries to cover. If everyone gets fit we will have a terrific subs bench aswell as 1st choice 11 Davis,Murty,Trotman,Jaid,Harding,Papa,James,Hammond,Mills,Saga,Lambert Subs Bart,Thomas,Perry,Lallana,Morgan,Holmes,Patterson or Mclaggon,Gillett & Mellis.Looks very promising.Also no Wotton,Lancashire or Pulis and players like Thompson,Gobern & White could go out on loan. Just need the team to gel and I could then see us going on a 10-15 game unbeaten stretch here's hoping!!

Next season we will no doubt be up against Notts County who will have millions to spend and no doubt will, plus the 3 relegated ccc sides.We need Charlton,Leeds & Norwich all to go up this season so we don't have to compete with any of them and hope no other sides get big takeovers from this league.Otherwise next season could be far more expensive than ML hoped and he may need to fork out £10 million to get us out of this league. That is of course if we are not in Div 2 which I now see as far more likely without the winger and pacy forward we desperately needed to have a reasonable side. Very bad judgement by Pardew today to talk about 3 possible signings and bring in none.I expect a statement from him tomorrow to explain what has gone wrong today. Currently very very very disappointed though not surprised as that seems to be the overriding emotion being a Saints fan(disappointment).Maybe one day we will have something to cheer about but it now doesn't look like this season!!!Yes we've got a club to support but it is still currently very tortuous to support.Would make life easier if I didn't care so much and could support another team .Unfortunately Saints is in my blood and hopefully one day I'll be pleased about that again unlike the last 5 years!!

Will be massively disappointed if we have not managed to sign anyone today.I really thought that we would make some progress today and for once was looking forward to Saints being a buyer instead of a seller on the transfer deadline day. I really thought we had a couple of deals almost done with AP saying he wanted a couple of signings in.Now he has left the majority of the Southampton fans disappointed who know we need another winger and striker Now it will no doubt be loans and we have been warned by Charlton fans about this.ie Pardew's obsession with loans.

I have a sneaking feeling that Gradl will be a Saint by 5.00pm tomorrow.Rumour has it that he is one of our top targets and suddenly he is dropped from the leicester squad tonight.Lets hope it is a done deal and permanent not a loan I think we will get Jaidi in sometime this week.I reckon we will be very busy tomorrow with as many as 3/4 signings depending if Jaidi is sorted out tomorrow and 1 leaving and 3 going out on loan. It would not surprise me if we sign 2 strikers tomorrow.My predictions are Craddock and Bent as I think there will be a surprise signing tomorrow and someone like Bent,Eastwood or Sharpe will be it!?We shall see but it will be an interesting day

If we do not start beating teams like Yeovil & Bristol Rovers at home next month I expect the pressure on AP will seriously grow both on here and generally.Yes he should be given time and performances are improving but we now need results in September and we should be beating managerless Colchester,Yeovil and Bristol Rovers at home aswell as Carlisle away.If we win none of these fixtures I would then fear for Pardew's future. I don't want a change and want Pardew to succeed.Lets hope September is the month for us.Its funny how certain months seem cursed in a season where we win no games.Lets hope this season August is our nightmare month!!
