If Puel stays hope he gets proper backing in the transfer market so we are not the only club to make a profit again! Need to properly strengthen the squad to give Puel a chance. Would hope we still get rid of Black. Will need a good start to next season or he will be the first manager sacked in the premiership as if we have a bad start he will come under pressure straight away which could make next season a dangerous one if you are straight on the back foot

Great to see the happy clappers out in force as we sleep walk to relegation if we are not careful. Totally underwhelmed with our summer transfer activity at present but I will reserve judgement until 1st September when the window is closed. Think the board are complacent and we have gone massively backwards by trying to do things on the cheap like appointing Puel. To say most fans are currently happy with current squad is a gross over statement as I have spoken to lots of Saints and do not know one who is currently happy as most think we have wasted a brilliant opportunity with European football to attract some exciting new players. I do not care if we spend £5 million or £20 million on a player as long as they have potential and improve our team and squad. So concerned but will see what the next 10 days bring

I don't want marquee signings as Osvaldo and Ramirez have proved to be expensive flops. But surely we should be looking at someone like Dennis Praet or a winger like Matt Phillips as Davis and JWP will be lucky to score a couple of goals between them and we need more from our AMC player imo We are toothless infront of goal and everyone knows Mane will clear off next summer so why not get Charlie Austin in now and have some decent options upfront. Do you seriously think our team will finish above teams like Swansea, Palace, Stoke and Everton this season as i will be amazed if we do? I honestly think we are heading for a relegation battle but will have a better idea after tomorrow as i expect Norwich to turn us over and for us to be sat bottom of the table winless with all the happy clappers saying everything is fine as we continue playing hoofball. Hopefully Saints will shove my prediction right back down my throat and everything will start looking better tomorrow but i certainly wouldn't put any money on it

Palace will finish comfortably above us this season. Hopefully they will then get ransacked by the top 6. With our complacent board not properly investing in our first 11 and buying dross like Martina if we don't bring in a decent attacking midfielder aswell as a defender I can see us in the relegation zone until January when we will probably make panic buys to try and save our premiership status.

We certainly do need to bring signings in as plenty of players are not up to standard if Martina, Caulker, Targett ,JWP, Long etc don't get many games then thats tough as at the moment none of them are good enough and the jury is out on plenty of other players in our squad. On top of all the money we have made from the outgoing transfers we are making a further fortune from the tv deal and surely we can afford to spend £25-£30 million on top of the monies raised from transfers like our main rivals like Palace , Stoke, WBA etc So to say we don't need any players is laughable imo and will get us relegated which i think is a distinct likelihood at present

Well i bet £10 on getting relegated last week and got odds of 25-1, with the bookies and me at the time laughing that i was wasting my tenner. I put a bet on last season and was hoping for a similar result to last season of Saints having a good season. I know its only early days and hopefully we will be fine but teams like Swansea , Stoke , Everton and Palace have definitely gone past us imo as they have all strengthened their squads and so far have not lost key players. I do think our board and management are sleep walking into potential disaster and can see panic buys/loans in January to save our premiership status. With such rewards for next season surely we can afford to be a little more ambitious in the transfer market now We should be bringing in a creative midfielder and striker aswell as a defender but i won't hold my breath and only expect a defender.

If RK thinks we are one defensive signing away from his perfect squad god help us!! Think the Saints board and management are totally complacent and we are heading for a very difficult if not catastrophic season if we are not careful. A creative midfielder and striker are a must aswell as VVD. Been a very depressing start to the season so far.Lets hope we see a much better second half performance

They will be missing Campbell, Sanogo , Chamakh and Murray upfront and Mutch limped off so hopefully their resources will be stretched upfront with Ameobi and Gayle their only striker options now. For me this has been right up there with the worst transfer windows ever as practically every day there has been something negative in the press about Saints and if we don't get a couple more decent players in then I do worry for our season just hoping to god that we don't lose any more key players before monday night as Spurs are bound to chance their arm on Sunday/Monday for Morgan again If we lose at West Ham tomorrow is there more likely to be panic buys? Get a couple of decent players in and I can't wait for the window to slam shut and hopefully the media to have some feeding frenzies with other clubs and leave us alone

Welcome Shane. Happy with the signing. We have got top dollar prices for our players who have left and in a massively inflated market we have to expect paying some silly fees for players we want. Cant have it both ways!!
