Saint Cupelix's Achievements

  1. How exactly was Pardew slow in making signings. would you rather he came in and just brought 11 random players regardless of what he may have available at the club already. Pard's needed time to assess what players he was..which players he thinks will do the job now and those that should improve and those that he feels are just not up to it. Then needs to take this to the owner with his assessment of the team stating what areas need improving the most and what areas he thinks that we might be able to get away with for the time being. And he's had to do all the above while taking the training as well as looking at the bigger picture of the club to see what needs to be improve to enable him to do his job to the best of his ability...Things like a scouting network and an assistant maybe. This thread deeply saddens me to call myself a saints fan with so much negativity in one place. Just remember Pard's is having to re-build a squad as well as help re-build a club that has been asset stripped for years. Give the guy a chance ffs.
  2. Cause its easy to compare Saints against Spurs the same spurs side that up until this season was the biggest spender in the Prem over the previous 3 seasons. When exactly have we had silly money to spend. What is our transfer spend record for a player now compare that against Spurs no where bloodly near each other. And as for the negative So called supporters, try being a little more positive for a change. Yes we haven't won a league game yet this season but we 3 games without defeat. As for not beating 10 Man Team yesterday what did you expect. They got a new manager so they will be doing there best to make sure they are in the new managers thoughts..they lose a player early on so its then backs against the walls most teams will struggle to get past a team like that.
  3. Some people really need to wake up and smell the fresh morning air. 2 months ago we were waiting to be put in the ground with a nice little tombstone. we had mickey mouse running the show with goofy managing the team. We now have a mega rich owner (which to me suggests that he's not here to make money unlike mickey as every one knows you don't make money in football as owners unless you can turn a club in to a very successful club - which means sound investment) We also have a very good manager who just might get these players actually playing to their potential along with knowing how to put a team together. Putting players in their correct position is already a huge plus and if he can get them playing as a team instead of a bunch of individuals that we have had over the last few years this will go a long way to getting this team out of this division (the correct way). You don't need to throw money at the team its about getting the best out of what you got. Playing to your strengths knowing your weaknesses and looking to improve those weaknesses. This season was always going to be about building a TEAM. All I expect from this transfer window is a few good free signings there's plenty out there for this level of football. Do you really want to go back to how we were when dropped out of the Prem with all those useless squad players that were bench warmers at best. If the team is doing well or looking like it needs additions I would expect to see them during the Jan transfer window when Pardew's had a good chance to see how these players will perform with maybe a few loan signings to keep us going in the mean time. RANT over.
  4. I must admit I wasn't that happy about it this morning but I'm warming up to the guy the same way I did when WGS arrived, so hopefully good things ahead of us. Will give full support to the guy and will judge once he has built his team this is unlikely to happen this year. Expectations: Year 1: to build a team this year in prep for year 2, would be happy with mid table finish if we are playing well after Jan Transfer Window. Year 2: Would hope that after a proper summer that the team will come out strong and push hard for auto Year 3: Aim for the playoff's in the Championship.
  5. I myself like others above can't get to alot of home games but I have had my membership card for a few years and yes its £20 quid but I can afford to pay that. I would to buy a season ticket but 1. I don't have that much spare cash laying around and 2. I'm normally busy working late during the week so the midweek games I can't get to & on most Saturdays I'm busy as well. I voted YES
  6. Thank you Markus for saving our wonderful club that I have followed for near on 30 years. I will be there to watch Ajax play us & hopefully at the Brentford Home Game on the 22nd with my Son Marcus. Thanks again for your support for our team.
