I think it's Wigan. Assuming they lose at champions league chasing arsenal, they have to win 2 of their other last 3 games to stay up - if West brom play like last week I think they'll lose and be effectively gone (and Wigan would need to win all 3 to overtake us)
-
Collapse??? 32 points in 34 games and not thinking they'll get 8 points in 4 constitutes a collapse?
-
No we won't.
-
It's you, not the club that has a predilection for finding the worst in a situation. If villa beat Norwich and we lose to spurs, they will indeed be ahead of us. But Norwich will still be behind us. One gains, another loses.
-
Indeed it is public, so if you choose to publicise your idiotic drivel, you can't really complain when someone points it out.
-
Very sad news RIP
-
I think villas two games and wigans trip to Norwich will have far more bearing on the odds come Saturday evening than how we do.
-
Manure have failed in their target the last couple of years, being the champions league. We have succeeded in each of the last 3 (2 promotions and survival) so our transfer policy is more successful, surely?
-
absolutely, lets give them 5 year extensions immediately.

[quote=alpine_saint; We've tried it your way - the pooving around into late August - every season, with imo somewhat patchy results. Patchy results? Jp trophy and just missed play-offs with minus ten, promotion, another promotion, premier league survival. Seriously, aside from winning the championship this year and the fa cup every year, what more could you actually want from a club, its team, and therefore its transfer policy in that period?
-
One minor detail aside, I think that's spot on. Clyne can play left back, and with targett being an apparently hot prospect I think it's a right back we need. Cover for cork and Spiderman is needed (as proved at the start of the season), jos needs replacing ( unless forren is up to it??), we need cover for srl, and some pace out wide. If Wigan do go down I'd love to get Kone, but he'll probably go elsewhere. Can't see much else to pinch from the bottom three (townsends great but will get games at spuds I'm sure and remy would be far too pricey).
-
Alpine is not right, he is a moron.
-
I feel very sorry for your wife and kids if they come lower in your priorities than this levl of support for saints.
-
The only thing I disagree with here is the phrase improved slowly. We were in league one on minus 10 points when the recent shoddy transfer policy was implemented. Jp trophy, 2 promotions and survival in the premier league (together with victories against the reigning league and european champions, possibly the highest points for saints in the last 8 or so years) would indicate to me we've had the best net transfer policy in English football in the last 4 years, aside from possibly citeh who spent about 100 million more. And I guess maybe Norwich. On balance, if its a choice of leaving it to cortese or handing control to alpine, I think nc just about shades it. After all, he is not a fatuous, trolling cretin. Oh, and the fox lallana combination has been used in a minority of games on the left this season. So you're not judging it over the season, are you?

Last summer was indeed a cluster f@ck. after all, we haven't won the league. Disgraceful. We need massive rebuilding, it's being screamed for ... by a lunatic.
-
Careful Dalek, that works both ways. MLg, you need to add another point to Wigan and villa totals to account for goal difference.
-
Two ways of taking that - either your throw away comment shows you can't defend your position, or I just smile at the mild comedy. I've always liked comedy myself, and am smiling. Blakeys house will have to do!
-
But it's hard not to sound arrogant when I'm right. I can think in many dimensions - it's mathematically possible for us to go down (as I've said plenty of times), but I can't for the life of me see how we will. You're the one who said that for the umpteenth time 39 points will see us relegated. It won't. How many dimensions of 39 points have you considered?
-
And on this occasion you are wrong. We are safe. 39 points will be safe. We don't need 43 points. Are you going to wager your house as well that you're right?
-
For the love of god ... This is this season. There are years when 39 wouldn't have been enough. This isnt one of them. Care to bet your house on it? With yours and blakeys I'm looking to start my own property empire!
-
That's better, thanks. Any ideas how nice his house is?
-
Do we still need 43 points to be safe?
-
Don't certify him insane - on march 10th he said he'd bet his house on saints being relegated and I took him up on the offer, so need him declared mentally fit. Mind you, he did say wed be joined by reading and Wigan, so qpr would obviously be safe ... Fail!
-
But saints are more likely to go down than I am of winning the lottery, which is a bit annoying.
-
West brom are going to have to drop a few levels for those two results. And Sunderland to be rubbish enough to lose to villa but good enough to beat us? And Norwich, good enough to win at west brom but bad enough to lose at home to villa. Mathematically possible, utterly improbable.
