Have to say i disagree, it's a long season. Lucy might not wait, promotion will!
-
more potential than forte by a country mile! Wouldn't mind him in the squad at all

perhaps keep your powder dry until after we play tomorrow!

saints player is being gay
-
i suspect he's sick of being played out on the wing and derided for his poor crossing, when he sees himself as a striker.

next goal crucial - dm

OB give a a fully justified and reasoned argument there. Some pepole just have a problem with authority
-
I would have taken Phillips, looks a good prospect.
-
He can, but he is paid to live and die by his decisions. I believe thus far his decisions have been spot on, so until that changes he and the club should have our full support for any transfer dealings. Forte may not be first choice, but he is a useful squad player and was invaluable last season with his two goals against MK Dons.

Let's not forget that the ultimate plan is to have this club run sustainably. We should not go down the route the skates did and the route that West Ham may well end up taking. Frankly, until we were linked with him i had never heard of Maynard. I would prefer that we do shrewd good value business that is sustainable in the long term than throw money at players that are a minor improvement on what we have. It wouldn't suprise me if we didn't make any "massive" signings until the January window as the team we have can, and i believe will, hold its own.

yeah i caught that - i think the tater was confused!
-
I had 3-1 with lallana to score first too

you also gotta love the style. you can't beat a quality italian suit!
-
well he does run the ****ing show! I think it's brilliant, let's be fair - if he wasn't italian it wouldn't work nearly so well. Fair play to him i say!
-
If guly is only looking a million dollars, he's worth less than we paid for him.

Thanks, you're righ it was a quick "Typo" error on my part. i went to the Espanyol game and was thinking of that earlier - must have been why i typed it. I'm really stupid obviously, i wish i was like some of the extra special people in here who never make a mistake! There are some real trolls on here these days! For what it's worth i'm glad Nigel feels like experimenting and i like wingers to swap sides in order to challenge the fullbacks with something different - but like i said it wasn't working. IMHO The first 11 that was out against Bayern Munich...sorry...Werder Bremen , looked far more assured on the ball and more creative - i guess that's what Lallana, Chambo, Connolly & Guly will do for you! Using the 11 against Werder Bremen as a base, i would swap in Kelvin for Bart (although KD's distribution was poor) and Bart did well, Chaplow for Hammond (Hammond charges around basically fouling - more through clumsiness than actual malice or aggression) and Martin for Seaborne for the game against Leeds (assuming no new major signings). I think that Davis, Butterfield, Martin, Fonte, Chamberlin, Chaplow, Cork, Lallana, Connolly, Guly is a damn strong championship team with only Schneiderlin, Lambert & Barnard really making a major claim for places on a regular basis. I rate Holmes very highly when fit and given an extended run, but would i have him in the team ahead of Lallana or Chamberlin? No.

oops meant Athletic Bilbao.

Against Espanyol? It just didn't work.

But is he better? Older, yes. Better? Not sure. Cheaper? Not sure about that either. Long term Cork could be the better bet ability and cost wise, as he could command a substantial fee later in his career.
