Report in the Mail suggests that the PL are fully on board with vaccine passports, in the hope of getting full stadiums next season. I suspect that one way or another there will be quite a lot of empty seats at many PL grounds for a good while yet. Have the clubs asked the fans for their views ?

I fear that we are not yet at peak stupidity. But this test is certainly yet another step in the direction of the peak

We did have a really terrible playing surface to deal with. We should have stuck JV up front and gone route 1.

3-0 v Coventry, December 1970. Just Magic. 3 bob to get in the Archers. 50 years on,I should know better, but still got the bug. Can’t wait to get back to SMS.

Would we have spaces in our PL squad to allow us to bring free agents in ?
-
No injuries ?
-
Yep, can’t believe the players didn’t give Mason more grief, that was never a foul.

Of the Queen records that may of may not have been played as the teams came out, the one that worked best IMO was Hammer to Fall. Back in the 70's, the pre- match records were at times provided by or sponsored by shops in town. And the post match music in the early 70's was a Sousa march.

Given his injury record, I would have thought that getting a big new long term contract under his belt, with an acceptable release clause, would be a sensible move for him at this point. Running his contract down much further is surely a gamble that he doesn't really need to take ?

Something similar to the 1976/77 kit would be great.

Brighton away in 1979. Absolutely hideous crush in one part of our corner terrace. Terrifying, and it seemed to be like that for ages. Anybody remember that one ? i think the game was a goalless draw.

Gotsmanov against Rochdale was spectacularly inept.

In the epic 76/77 season Saints played 57 ( I think !) games, and had to use 5 goalkeepers, 2 of whom we had on loan. Name the 5 keepers used . ( TBF I knew we had used 5 , but could only remember 4 , had to look up the last one).

Should I set a question , or whoever it was got the first half of the answer to the last question ?

Chester City League cup, maybe 1971 ? we won the second replay at West Brom.

The use of the furlough scheme by PL clubs is shameful. There isn't one club that couldn’t confortably guarantee the jobs of non- playing salaried staff , with a little effort. One thing we could do is make our feelings on this known to The Saints board, just in case they were tempted, which I’m pretty confident they wouldn’t be .

A deserved MOM for JWP, though several others might have got it. Can anybody explain why JWP was on Abraham for corners though ? It seemed to work well enough though , and a clean sheet says it all.
-
Another vote for Heath. Nothing, not even the ones that beat us in finals has ever come close.
-
And , just to labour my point, for this particular and very successful fixture, 6 of the seven are current players.
-
Think so. I should have mentioned that of course we had VVD for the first leg.
-
This is the team that played the second leg of the League cup semi final, beating a very good Liverpool side, and keeping a clean sheet over 180 mins. Forster Cedric Stephens Yoshida Bertrand JWP ( Hojberg) Romeu Davis Jay Rod ( Long) Redmond Tadic

I wonder if it mentions this table ? https://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/sep/24/the-knowledge-crystal-palace-brighton-closest-derby

did the meeting cover marking the other teams players ?

I do remember very clearly seeing an artists impression image of the proposed Western Explanade stadium in the Echo, maybe round about 1984/5? . IIRC at the time it looked very impressive.
